I have strong profile as I have experimented with my a few startups but still I am an introvert and more into creating products and stuff so I don't think MBA is for me given their politics as well. I come from a village in Bihar and my financial situation is not even that good to afford an MBA. After seeing that salary thing and performance criteria in promotion I realized that I can get promotion as my work ethic is strong and makup for money. 😂

I'll give you a brief overview IIM A/B impossible you gotta crack that 99.97 barrier when it comes to these colleges they want 9/9/9 profile and if you're from common background which is engineering/ finance then competition is even high those 9/9/9 academics become 10/9/10. You've got good enough marks till now but apparently not enough for IIM A/B. Other IIMs are also good... don't just aim for A/B they're currently easy cracks for other backgrounds get some weird degree that you're unheard of 98 percentile and you're good to go. In short just take a look at their website and selection criteria and target where your demand is

I would be really frank with you, hope you don't mind. 1. Do you have any reservations? because with your profile, you would need to score in excess of 99.8 percentile in CAT to even dream about getting into FMS, TISS is good but not at the level of FMS. 2. Also please educate yourself on consulting and HR, these two are highly different roles and require different skills. From a difficulty standpoint, getting a consulting role in an MBB is leaps and bounds harder than getting hired into HR. MBBs or other highly acclaimed firms only tend to hire the top students from top B-schools and I am afraid they won't bother hiring from TISS. 3. All the best for your CAT exams

Sir that's a loaded question. You are in. Govt job and getting an MBA will get you a very decent pay increase and that's the motivation for many. Job security is definitely lower than a govt job but you get to do and learn a lot more in MBA... you have to take a weighted approach that suits your cause...

A decent college will open a lot of avenues. MBA admission will need some capital so do calculate the ROI based on the placement reports. If the college is good... Tension will be less

@@exy007 yes if your family income is below 8 Lakhs then you'll be under OBC category if more then open category
according to my assumption and calculation your salary now is around 50 lakhs and u started with 16-17 lakhs

Have you ever seen someone with for example 8/6/8 acads getting shortlisted for MBB interviews in a B school? I've got exceptional national level achievements such as winning hackathon for reduction in demand for drugs, speaking inside the Parliament of India, bravery award for leading a taskforce in disaster management, growing 75 trees in each gram Panchayat of my district etc

They have just wasted 6 years of their life (HSC+BE) for learning things which they will not use.

I just love money and all the expensive things, and like any other kid, I want to be independent and do things for my parents. I want to do a startup, I have 7-8 ideas, but you know typical parenting, Lack of capital. These are the only reasons Im doing MBA

Sir that's a loaded question. You are in. Govt job and getting an MBA will get you a very decent pay increase and that's the motivation for many. Job security is definitely lower than a govt job but you get to do and learn a lot more in MBA... you have to take a weighted approach that suits your cause...

After graduation 6 years gap, prepared for civil services. Not able to clear. Now i want a job. I'm considering MBA to be employable.
Honestly i dont have energy left to perpare for CAT now. I am planning to take admission in any decent enough private university. Can you please tell me what will be job prospects post MBA from such university and what are decent streams. HR, Logistics and Finance how are these wrt job availability.
A decent college will open a lot of avenues. MBA admission will need some capital so do calculate the ROI based on the placement reports. If the college is good... Tension will be less
