The trick with canned air is that it gets really cold and it could and will condense water on your minis. Sticking dust to your paint. Using only an airgun with compressor is way better. Larger volume so less condensation
my airbrush ... I never thought of that ... I was thinking of using the Dyson vacuum cleaner with the smallest diameter nozzle = bad idea I would use the airbrush with air only, I thought that spraying water with isopropyl alcohol dissolves paint and if you missed a spot with the varnish overcoat you can damage the paint.
I usually wait for a month or so..... Ah come on Robbie....you aint fooling us. You're way too busy hobbying for housework. Its your partner who does the dusting aint it ;-)
@@spikeybitstv I did watch the whole video. I think you're misinterpreting what we're saying about using the airbrush INSTEAD of the cans for blowing the dust away in the first step, not just leaving it at that. It just seems unnecessary to have an aerosol can that will freeze up after a few minutes if you have a contraption that can blow air consistantly.

Why not just use a large makeup brush? The brushes are incredibly soft, will not scratch your paint, and catch move/the dust and can be cleaned very easily. This works for me and requires little to no effort and very minimal cost. Otherwise cool video, will keep in mind for crazing.
How do you fix a model that was sprayed with flat varnish but looks all cloudy?
The same exact way, cept no canned air :)
just a thought....instead of canned air couldnt you just shoot air thru your airbrush?
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Rob does great work and sneaks in an airbrushing tutorial as well.
I use a data vac electric duster it works well for cleaning computers and does wonder for minis and comes with many attachments

Dust is evil and insidious and I wouldn’t be surprised if Genestealers/Chaos were somehow involved with its spread.
Acetone and fire for Heretics and Dirty, Dirty, Xenos ...Imperial models are protected by their love of the Emperor. ;)

Why don't you just use your airbrush and compressor to shoot air and remove the dust ?
we did at the beginning to get the loose stuff off. Please watch the whole video before making uninformed comments.
@@spikeybitstv I think he means instead of using the aerosol cans
@@schlitzie72 when the dust is matted down that much it's very hard to remove with air alone at a PSI that wont damage the model.

@@spikeybitstv ahhh that's what we were looking for, clarification. Thank you
