Thanks for the mention Rob :) Glad you got the replacement unit in good time. Nice offgrid filtration setup. And great video! Please let us know if and when you need anything else. All the best Ed UK Water Filters
What about having an overflow at the top of one of the barrels that returns back to the river. This way the water is always being refreshed in the barrels and always flowing in the pipes and the barrels are always kept topped up from the stream.
I think I did that in one of the videos (I cant remember which one) it does exactly what you said and keeps things flowing so that it is less likely to freeze
Merry Christmas Rob. Very much liking your joke/limerick 😂👍 Looking very good and great shout out for the supplier. When any reason why you located the filter 18’’ or so off the floor? I was thinking that when we get to do this, we’d have it at waste level. Saves bending down then. Oh and saw the moon over your shoulder 👌 Winter Solstice done, here’s to lighter days 👍
Merry Christmas to you too. We put the filters down there because I have a worktop going over the top of them, It might be annoying to get under there to service it but we need as much worktop space as we can get. Hope you have some time off over the Christmas period
@@beyondtheworkbench thank you. Understand and agree, you can never had enough workspace👍 Yeap, a perk of being employed, is time off. Hope you get some family time too 👍👌
Someone else said that and its partly because I diddnt know thats how it was supposed to go and also because I wanted the inlet at the bottom so the inlet pipe wasnt floating in the air at the top or needed another elbow fitting and because when we were planning to fill them with gravel and sand it was supposed to be filled from the bottom up

should have put the ballcock through at the top of the barrel with the ball screwed onto the arm?
I have discovered that today. The pressure of the water in the barrel seems to be too much for the water to come in past a certain level. Good spot
Whats the reason for putting the float valve at the bottom? If it were at the top you could screw the float staright to the valve.

Why didn't you just get an IBC tank instead of all those barrels. An IBC will hold 1000 litres of water.
We were going to do a natural material filtration system and that needed 4 separate tanks
