Y - I miss Josh Reynolds. He was not a primary target, but he did come up with a lot of big catches and was a good possession receiver that we could count on to get us a first down when he was targeted. I wanted us to re-sign him, but he commanded and received more money than we could give him. I am hopeful that DPJ can step into that role from the outside opposite Jameson Williams, but we'll get the answer to that down the road.
We don’t need him to pillage our salary cap coffers when we’ve got so much talent coming up to be re-signed. A guy that just got traded and can’t close on a deal is no-one I want to deal with
Yes. I have been watching Lions tape from this past season; Josh Reynolds had 40 catches, and about HALF of those were explosive plays. I know that he had a few drops, crucial drops at SF. He was an incredible possession receiver, that has better chemistry with Goff than Jamo does, at least during the 2023 season. In watching the tape, as the season progressed, Jamo got stronger, which is great. IF Reynolds was looking for 4 million per year, and that's what I heard, it seems odd that they wouldn't re-sign him, unless the brass know something that the fans don't know, which they PROBABLY do, haha...I hope that Jamo has the break-out season we have been waiting for.
Reddick wants a new deal. If you trade for him, you will need to pay him. Paying him means you may miss out on resigning players like Alim and/or Decker for example.
I don’t see why any of these players would frighten fans. I mean most would probably be had for 2nd or 3rd day picks. They would likely be role players. And might come in handy in the long run. I think too many folks have already sold themselves the Lions are way better than they are. Theyre pretty good now, but are still a few pieces away from the elites in the league.
I don't see Holmes trading for anyone. The only trade acquisition he has made was CB this off-season because it was a major need. He's never traded future assets just for bottom of the roster depth. Not only would they have to give up future assets, they would have to sign them to a pretty penny, multi year contract or get stuck in the jets/Hassan Reddick situation where the player will just hold out on the lions. Sounds to me like more stupid baseless rumors just to generate content by main stream media. Trying to dig the lions on something
Yes we are going to miss reynolds one bad game doesnt equal letting a guy go i know it was a big game but % in the cluth hes still 95 % good in cluth situations
I’m waiting for them to let Antoine Green off the chain! The guy is another Megatron! Why can’t Ben Johnson see that! Look at their physical stats, almost identical!
Jets traded a 3rd rd pick that can become a 2nd rd pick for Reddick. I don't think Jets will trade him. Especially when they going all in this season with Rodgers. Matthew Judon is the player I hope Lions trade for at some point. Patriots won't be good this year an are in rebuild mode. Judon has 1 year left on his contract an will be 32 before the season starts. So shouldn't be that expensive. 2021-17 games -12.5 sacks, 25 QB hits, 14 TFLs 2022-17 games-15.5 sacks, 28 QB hits, 14 TFLs, 3 PD, 2 FF 2023- 4 games- 4 sacks, 9 QB hits, 5 TFLs, an a safety. He tore his bicep an went on IR. Hutch, Reader, McNeill, Judon 🤯🤯
Some of you will never get this. Judon, in this defense, replaces James Houston or Betts. He’s is. WLB with pass rushing skill. He is either on your bench in most situations and spelling an already deep niche role. I hope people spend more time with this scheme next year learning what the team wants from a RDE. Look up the saints. You have a guy like Jordan on the left and a natural RDE across from him. They don’t do this whole “draft/trade for a guy who plays WLB-LDE and convert him to a RDE” I’ve said this for 3 off seasons now. Nobody seems to get it, Hutchinson is your alpha here. When you run a 43 there are only so many pass rush snaps to go around. You folks want constant pressure from both ends. In 50 years of watching I’ve never seen a 43 where they convert a LDE to the right and send the house each snap.
@@thomaswatkins3686 Matthew Judon is not the same as James Houston. Judon is 6'3 270 pounds. Houston is only 6'1 245 pounds. Judon is the same size as Pascal. Believe me Aaron Glenn would find ways to get Judon enough snaps. Glenn already said he wants to be more aggressive upfront now that we upgraded the secondary. If the Lions traded for Judon it wouldn't cost much an cap hit wouldn't be that high. For a player that has 32 sacks in the past 38 games. Too me it's a low risk high reward situation.
Please stop with these ridiculous videos. I know there’s not much to talk about but this is utter nonsense. Wait till season starts at least to see what we have
Dear god these comment sections get more clueless each off season. Yes. Spend a first on a guy to move him across the formation where he’s never played and expect him to take a backseat to the lead guy in the defense or completely change your scheme and keep him at OLB every snap. Some of you just know a name and never take a minute to understand if what you’re saying could even work. The Lions should have made a run a sweat. A RDE. In 2023. That was the closest thing to a fit they’ve had the chance to get. But the bears had better capital. Crosby doesn’t make sense in this defense. I’ve said for 3 years now what to expect with a 4 man front. Nobody seems to get it.
Should the Lions trade for Robert Woods? ‘T’ for Trade, ‘P’ for Pass

Name a player you want the Lions to trade for!
We only need a DE and we'll win a superbowl...besides for Hutchinson.. .we're weak !!! Get Reddick..huge upgrade over Davenport
Jessie bates or Derwin James or Antoine Winfield jr
Or max Crosby
Too Early to talk about that before analyzing the new group we have in the preseason.
@jamiethomas3306 we needed another pass rusher for the last 2 season...is it really to early?
I’m down with d line moves. Can never have enough
Very nice topic

Of all the guys you mentioned Reddick is the only one I think they should consider.
Reddick wants a new deal. If you trade for him, you will need to pay him. Paying him means you may miss out on resigning players like Alim and/or Decker for example.
My theory is jamo will have more production this year than Reynolds had last year. I had a dream about it so 🤞
Of course
All you have to do is watch the Antoine highlights from North Carolina! And you’ll see he’s a Megatron!
I like him too but he’s no Megatron.
I'm sure Brad Holmes follows everything you suggest.

Trick question. I would say "No". As long as we win next season!
JR had one bad game. It just so happened to be the championship game. I'm over It. Too bad we couldn't work a contract both parties were happy with.
Turner is with the Packers now. He was cut.
