Dear Rebecca, I cannot believe its only been a year that you‘ve been putting your designs out. You created SO much this past year. Stupendous. Congratulations!!😮😊🎉 Congratulations also on your boat, how exciting!! I live in Berlin, directly on the river - before I moved here I had absolutely no idea how many avid boaters there are in this city. I do not sail myself, sadly, but there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting on my balcony, knitting and watching all the beautiful little and big ships sail by. Enjoy!! ❤

Congratulations on one year of designing! The Alder Sweater is magnificent. The unspun yarn sweater I've been meaning to knit next has gotten bumped back 4 times now. The Alder Sweater may just bump it back one more time! But then there's the Tolsta which I'm also in love with. Let's see what comes first.

I’m pretty late to the party here, I’ve only been watching your channel for a few months. I found and purchased your Tolsta Tee. It was a good way to use up some cotton yarn from a mystery yarn bag. Just finished it today and I love it. It’s very South West USA. Think Red rocks and blue sky 😃 much like Garden of the Gods here in Colorado. Any how, love the pattern and I can’t wait to try another from you! Thanks so much! PS this was my first raglan construction garment ❤️

Congratulations with your beautiful designs ❤🎉 Do you ever sleep??? You get so much knitting done… it took me a whole day to knit a DK-weight sleeve on needles 4 and you knit one in only 1 evening 😮 Hopefully you can keep on designing ❤❤❤

So I’m going to Rhinebeck for the first time in a few weeks and was looking for the perfect project to intentionally buy “special yarn” there and this alder sweater is it!! Thanks!, PS I’m knitting some socks right now from special yarn I bought in Perth last years festival when I visited Scotland last year ( best trip in my life!!)

Michelle here - I love your designs - the Kerr still has my heart though - only because there are Kerrs in my family line - also Lyons and Cunningham. Part of my Scottish heritage comes from Glasgow and the Cruickshank side is from Banff. I love your accent - I am a New Zealander with many cultures in my bloodline...

My question for you is: I’m not sure if are still working your full time and if so, will you consider be a full time knitter and designer. It most be really hard to work a full time job and create so many beautiful things at the same time.
Congrats on the release of the Alder and on the purchase of your boat. We had a 21 foot sail boat when our older kids were little. It was fun to camp on it and sail around Kootenays Lake in B.C. The baby presented many challenges and I ended up spending too much time below deck keeping her safe and then we had more babies…so we abandoned the idea. You will have so much fun on your boat! Enjoy!

Congratulations on your designing anniversary! I remember you talking about your first design, that it was a one time thing. Somehow I knew you wouldn’t stop at one. But you have done so much in such a short time. I love the combination of your creativity and your project management skills. It must be so satisfying to have the ideas and then to be able to deliver them according to plan. I love watching you put it all together.

Happy Alder day. Have you ever thought of designing a slipover/vest or redesigning of of you sweaters into a vest? I love to wear a vest in the winter to keep my core warm but leave my arms free. I’m in New Jersey USA. Have fun at Rhinebeck, it’s crazy! 😅

Every pattern you release, I say “THAT’S my favorite!” but possible-Rhue is definitely my favorite. Looking forward to that release and seeing what else you come up with.

I've bought the Alder pattern. I've got 6 balls of magenta and 4 balls of grey DK in stash, which should just be enough for a size 7.

I've been knitting for a long time and your patterns and enthusiasm inspire me and I want to cast on all the time BUT I'm working on finishing languishing WIPs this year and will be in a good spot by the time Rhinebeck hits for a purchase or two. Congrats on the sailboat. I’m casting on the Leith cardigan or the Alder or both this fall for sure. When does stick season come out?
My question for your next podcast episode or whenever you answer questions about patterns design. When you design your own sweaters where do you start? How do you make your color work charts? What resources do you have for learning the math behind it? My education left me with terrible math skills. I want to take a course on designing my own patterns and grading it and such. Also I’m visiting Scotland over several weeks around Christmas and will hopefully get to visit ginger twist studio in Edinburgh.

Do you draw out your design ideas after you get the inspiration so you don’t lose it? Or do they pretty much stay as you originally imagined until you have the time to knit it out? Or are notes enough to hold the inspiration in your mind?
Your tattoo is so cool! I’m so glad you stepped into your creativity this year. It can really trip us up when those closest to us don’t see us the way we see ourselves. But you’ve added so much value and beauty and fun and passion to the world! You are a creative and a creator!!

Oh I love your designs so much 😍, the only thing is that your neckline is to tight and high for me. With some patterns it is adjustable luckaly 😊 When I saw your Adler's first setup, I was inmediatly in love with the pattern and the colours. And when you mentioned at Instagram that it is easy to make a cardigan from it, I was more happy and bought your pattern. I'm going to try to make a Adler Cardigan and hope it is going to work out well 🤞😊.

For the most part, the books behind me are largely unread. I do read a lot but much more digital books than paperbacks. But I can't bring myself to get rid of them
@@the.creabea haha 😂 I recently got rid of life long books, just because I’m down sizing, and haven’t looked at them for too long either. I used to scrapbook, and many other crafty things too, but lately all I want to do is knit or crochet, so I sold all my other supplies too. It’s a great feeling !
Bought pattern early today. Now to find budget friendly yarn to make it in. Sonder seemed pricey. Love all your designs. Can not wait for daft days! I need to knit more and faster!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was considering Knitpicks gloss 70% merino/ 30% silk, it was about 60% of the cost of Sonder, not exactly the same structure but I think it might work.
I've also felt that I wasn't "creative" because I "just" craft. I'm sorry that your friends said that to you. I'm sure they meant well, but it does cut deeply to not be seen for who we are. I have been amazed at the sheer volume of your designs. I have yet to make one, but I will make that a goal for the latter part of this year. Wishing you an even more successful second year of designing 🙏🏿

just bought the pattern its so pretty any idea on a yarn that would work good from a big box store like hobby lobby or micheals ? its such a beautiful pattern it my 1st ever pattern with slip stitches i usually do top down raglan type and im just starting to learn colorwork and that colorwork sweater your making is so beautiful cant wait till its released will it be available to the public?
As a extra note have to considered designing a Daft Hat just to match the cardigan and shawl ?
