Today was the day fall came. We had rain all day. This week I got a new sewing machine. A Janome and I am ready to dive into sewing again. It's been years. I've been knitting and crocheting all the time and I still am. But I'm inspired by Jordan Fabrics, out of Grants Pass Oregon. She has a lot of great videos on making quilts. I want to dive into bag making also. The cold wet weather has got me ready for cozying up to my crafts and sleeping! lol The Marled Magic is really pretty. Stephen has a new shawl pattern that reminds me of his Exploration Station Shawl. It's beautiful, so I think that's my next shawl project. The log cabin quilt is beautiful. I love that you made the border a plaid. The colors are perfect. Enough of all the colors to make it just right.
Kristin! You always bring the joy of making with every episode. Thanks as always for brightening our day with all the things - gorgeous knits, new base (Gosling ;)), and quilt mania! Always a pleasure xx
Thank you for sharing all your beautiful designs! You always motivate me to get off my behind and finish some stuff up. I'm currently using my embrodiery machine with an end-to-end design to top quilt a quilt. It's currently in the naughty corner for going out of sync when I ran out of bobin thread so I need to rip out about 2000 stitches. *sigh* I can't wait to gift it to my niece though. I'm using a pattern from Moonkin Stitchery called Lazy Days. She has TONS of cute free patterns. One of them is a log cabin pattern that uses a layer cake. It's adorable. I'm going to use my Ruby Star Society layer cake from the Purl collection (yes, it's a yarn patterned fabric collection) to make the Moonkin Stitchery's Log Cabin design.
I love the Cozy Cabin quilt. It’s got a lovely whimsy about it. If you’ve ever wanted to try big stitch hand quilting, I think it would be the perfect candidate for your first one. (correct me if you’ve already done it!) DMC pearl cotton size 8 in a variety of colors would add so much charm to the negative space and you can outline the houses. With big stitches, hand quilting doesn’t take quite as long as you might think. And since you aren’t convinced you love it, you can experiment and not worry about whether or not you’re getting it “right”. Just an idea ☺️
Years ago, I would do a yearly membership with Keepsake Quilting so that I could sell quilts on consignment in their shop in Center Harbor, NH, regardless of where in the US the Army had stationed my husband. They were great about making sure the quilt was correctly priced. My Mom waited until I finished a quilt, sent it off to Keepsake and then purchased it to give to a friend as a gift. She knew I would have charged her just enough to cover materials otherwise. The recipient was a long time family friend.
Love the house quilt, such perfect autumn colors! And then! Gasp! How dare you equate the beautiful autumnal colors to the 🤢🤮 McDonald's/fast food colors! 😂😂 (I need a 'clutch my pearls' emoji lol)
Your marled magic looks amazing… I haven’t even gotten through the first section yet. And I love that pattern that you were showing! So unique. Love the quilts!🖤
Great question! I do a little bit of both now, actually ... I have a chair that adjusts to fit the height of the table. That's why my sewing machine's foot pedal is on a stepstool 😆
Love the log cabin quilt, it gives a warm and cozy feeling.

Thank you so much for that, Andrea. 🥰🥰🥰 I'm so glad my videos brighten your day!
I LOVE that Cozy Cabin quilt! Orange/yellow/red is my vibe for fall lol, hope you fall in love with it in time!
TOTALLY a fall vibe! Not sure how fast food widdled its way into the mix but here we are! 🍟🍂😂
I am so enjoying your quilting journey. Try thinking of red/orange/yellow as sunsets and beach bonfires 😉
Your Marled Magic shawl looks cozy. And I love your Cozy Cabin quilt top.

Thanks so much! Hah, I can can't unsee mushrooms, now 😂🍄

Your new shawl is going to be beautiful!! The Log Cabin quilt is great for fall!!
Loved seeing your new quilt top. It’s adorable. Also, I think I need to add the Tineola shawl to my queue.
The marled magic is superb, and I was initially awed by the colour you least liked.😊

That first section was always my death knell with previous cast ons ... stick it out!! It's all smooth sailing from there. 😄
Absolutely beautiful knitting projects 💚
Thank you, Miki! 💖
Personally I think it will grow on you. However it would also make a beautiful gift for someone special 😊
It already IS growing on me! It's like a lovers-to-haters romance situation, really 😂
I have been lusting after the baskets in your white shelves. Would you mind sharing where you got them?
Thank you, Susan! They are also from IKEA 😄
Thanks so much!
Also, do you stand when sewing? It seems that the tabletop is quite high.
Great question! I do a little bit of both now, actually ... I have a chair that adjusts to fit the height of the table. That's why my sewing machine's foot pedal is on a stepstool 😆
I love the quilt. Shall I send you my address? 😂😂
I think the quilt is more traditional…
It really is! 🏠😄
