What I like about Sevika is her adaptability after battle. Her arm at first had a auto injector when Caitlyn exploits that, she makes it where she injects it manually so, it doesn't happen again.
Awesome. I didn't catch that. She also built her sword in to her arm after Jinx interrogates her so she can't be disarmed again... until she's literally disarmed :-)
An underrated Sevika moment: Walking through the club to Silco’s office she just takes someone’s giant bottle of booze without sparing them a glance and they’re just like ”Well okay then, guess that’s not mine anymore…”
Sevika is the most emotionally controlled person in the show. She has insane ego strength, equal to Vander, and loyalty to a cause that never wavers. Such an amazing character
@@sunflowerice yeah, she literally got almost tag teamed in the portion of the story 😆 poor Sevika, got her ass handed to her by Vi and then knocked out and humiliated by Jinx.. Im sure she didnt want to see hide nor hair of either for a hot minute
I always liked how Sevika is never scared of Jinx. At first glance, Jinx comes off as creepy but Sevika is never fazed. Especially when Jinx ties her up.
I also love that she’s a portrayal of the perfect soldier without being seen as emotionless or have no autonomy. Instead, she’s a good solider because she can control her emotions and chooses to be a good soldier for a cause she genuinely believes in.
Finally someone gets it. Sevika never betrayed anyone except arguably Finn, and that was IN LOYALTY as well. She absolutely didn't betray Vander because he was not her employer or commander, he was a self appointed community leader that she had previously followed. She makes her intentions to not follow anymore crystal clear and walks out. There is no duty, responsibility or promise she ever breaks at any point, except Finn's delusion that he, in HIS betrayal, has swept her along after her repeated refusals. To argue Sevika owes Vander some kind of loyalty at the time of her supposed betrayal is to argue that she is a slave. Vi is simply, flatly WRONG when she calls Sevika a traitor. I love that Sevika doesn't protest it... not because she agrees, but because arguing with Vi serves no purpose. It is not an admission of guilt that she says "Vander had his chance", just a dismissal of the premise.
Vander no longer held the ideals that Sevika followed him for she is loyal to the cause not to a person. And when Vanders cause changed so did Sevika. I get it
@@supernova9361 It can be argued to be one if she SAID she had his back, yes. Betrayal is about breaking faith with someone, or more specifically, breaking a reasonable expectation of loyalty. If Finn just ASSUMED Sevika was on his side, that's entirely on him, and that may have happened. When moving against a man like Silco it may be advantageous not to state your intent specifically, after all. If he did say "okay let's all of us go in there and you take him out" and she said "ye let's do that", then Finn can reasonably expect she should do so. Her killing him instead constitutes a SMALL betrayal then. Small because he knows Sevika is on Silco's side, so in asking her to betray him he's counting on her being willing to betray, which means putting full trust in her at that point is just stupid. There was always a reasonable chance she was suckering him in, and he should have allowed for that in any plan. But if she promised him and broke that, it still counts as betraying him. After all, unless you're a known liar and cheat, it's reasonable to trust that you'll honour your promises. However, since she did so in order to serve her true loyalty, it doesn't reflect poorly on her. So yes, she may have committed a minor betrayal, but since she did that in service to the one she had with time and commitment shown her loyalty TO, it doesn't make her a "traitor". It's like if your best friend is approached by someone who gives them some cash to help rob you. They take the money, then help prevent the robbery instead. They certainly DID betray the deal they just made with the robbers, but the personal characteristic revealed by the act is that of loyal friend, rather than dealbreaker.
You neglected to mention Sevika's sadism. She's not just a good soldier; she clearly enjoys hurting people. You can see this in her facial expressions when she's fighting Vi and when she "twists the knife" verbally in her taunts to Vi and particular to Jinx, when she was literally placing herself in mortal danger just to get in that extra burn. This is the chief moral distinction between Vi and Sevika; Vi is aggressive, impulsive and violent, but she doesn't _enjoy_ the pain she inflicts on others. Sevika does.
I found out that Sevika means in hindi "servant of god", and makes so much sense since she's one of the most loyal characters in the show. I love Sevika, I think her back story have so much potential
I felt she didn't get enough credit for how resilient and how much of a badass she is. She's quite a fighter, i could easily see her vi having a friend/rival style of relationship.
She's an amazing fighter. It's not a stretch to say that she could have won the second fight, but she overextended because she (and Vi) didn't expect the hextech shield. As for a friendship/rivalry with Vi, maybe if thing happened differently. Unfortunately one of Vi's character flaws is her unwillingness to change her perspective of certain people. It's true with Powder, Silco, Jayce and Sevika and lead to the oil and water scene. Vi calling Sevika a traitor, despite the fact that Sevika never worked for Vander and doesn't owe him loyalty, shows that Vi took Sevika working for Silco personally and likely doesn't care about why she does.
It's super interesting watching two different people analyse the same character and come out with the same, nuanced understanding. Both this channel and Schnee looked beyond the surface of Sevika and came out with the same key point. She is loyal to the cause, not any one person. A thing I never really would have grasped. Schnee used his understanding of film and character writing, Georgia uses her understanding of psychology and human relationships. They both reach the same conclusion. My point being, DAMN! Arcane's writing is so freaking good!
12:58 "One of the reasons they lost the sherrif". Jinx killed Marcus, pre-meditated and on purpose. In episode 6 when Vi tells Jinx that she was in prison, and Jinx immediately asks: "Marcus?". Then in episode 7 when Jinx is questioning Silco about her sister, Silco says to Jinx: "Marcus never told me she was in Stillwater". The next thing Jinx does after that is go to her room finish her firelight bombs and then uses them to kill Marcus. Jinx would have seen Marcus as the person who took her sister away from her, and Jinx being Jinx, went and took her revenge.
“sevika is not a traitor…”. yasssss! u’r the only one i saw who recognizes this. most people ignore that vander was collaborating with the oppressors. we sympathize with his reasons, but he did it through a secret arrangement. but sevika is most often considered the traitor.
Sevika is a perfect solider. She knows when to get into her opponent’s head, sticks to a cause and doesn’t undermine authority but still questions it when needed. I enjoyed her character and if she gets added to league I think I found a new main .
Instead we've got that redhead baroness who lost her child in Jayce's attack on Silco shimmer factory. At least I hope we see her more in the show. Yeah I think Reni is Renata Glasc
@@sqxbarto9229 but then she just keeps doing what she's already been doing, there's no development in that. She's followed twice, now it's time for her to lead.
@@sqxbarto9229 Sevika wouldn't follow any of them though. They are all for all intents crime bosses. They were useful for Silco in establishing his empire in the Undercity, but they have no interest in the Cause. They don't fight for independence of Zaun. They are there for the power and profit. If any of them were to rise to power, it would be the same situation as with Finn. She has no loyalty to them and would not follow them. They would not try to fight for Zaun, but rather expand their power in the Undercity. Silco never lost sight of what all of this was for... Not for money or power. That was a means to an end, to perfect Shimmer and build his Chemtank army so they could challenge Piltover and force them to accept Zaun as equals. That's why Sevika was loyal, that's the cause she believes in. So it remains to be seen what Sevika will do in season 2, now that her fight is over. And ironically, it was Vi and Caitlyn that did more to establish the independence of Zaun than Silco and she did. They are the ones that opened Jayce's eyes to the reality of life in the Undercity and how they were treated. And Jayce was in a position that he was able to fight and push a vote that gave Zaun it's independence, whether or not Silco agreed to his terms. Of course the ending happened, so the fate of the Piltover Council is in question, but we know from the game's lore that Jayce and Viktor live and Zaun gains it's independence. Though it doesn't really improve the lives of the people that much, and there is still conflict between Zaun and Piltover. But that was the end goal for Sevika and why she followed Silco. Zaun is free, but it has to deal with the mess of it's own making with Shimmer addiction running rampant and crime lords being the power structure in play, without Silco to rein them in. Will she try to step up in his place? Try to hunt down Jinx for what she's done? Join or fight against the crime bosses? I look forward to seeing her in season 2.
I think something else worth pointing out is; Jinx is the reason she has the prosthetic arm in the first place and Jinx even uses that as a threat when she has her tied up. "I feel like you and I got off on the wrong arm. Maybe we should try the other." It feels like it adds even more weight to her relationship with Silco that in that moment she still gave advice to him about dealing with Jinx.
When she told Silco that Jinx would come to him... it made me think. She doesn't care that Silco is playing dad/is a dad to her. She showed some good compassion and friendship and understanding when she told him to let Jinx come to him. I think to her, it's okay if Silco cares for this girl. Sevika just wants her away from the operations and missions because things go sideways when she's there. Keep her out of the cause kind of thing. Maybe? IDK, just a thought.
I think it's also worth noting, somebody may already have said this in previous comments, that Vi and Sevika even give each other breaks during their battles? Like, Vi had time to drink an entire drink and Sevika was just chilling in the seats lol before they picked up and started fighting again.
Sevika is an awesome character, I love the fact that they made her a Lieutenant/body guard to Silco, which is not normally a female role. She is a character that only really speaks when necessary and when she does, the people around her listen. She large and broody and she goes all in when she fights. Its really quite refreshing to see and brawler type also be gentle and soft when needed and not JUST because shes a woman, she is a great character. It was pretty funny to see how dwarfed Vi is compared to Sevika..... I think in Act 4 Sevika will win a head to head fight against Vi, there's no way story wise to just let Vi keep winning 😂 I really enjoy your channel and your cosplay! keep on keepin' on!
@@GeorgiaDow A Sevika/Vi team up sounds amazing. They both want what’s best for the Undercuty/Zaun, and with Silco gone, maybe they both will independently see the same person as best qualified to make that happen. As you said, Sevika didn’t betray Vander, because in her eyes, Vander already betrayed the cause. Maybe if Vi understands that they will be able to bury the hatchet and build something using the base of shared mutual respect.
The thing with sevika getting into fights with why VI is that sevika usually is winning up to a certain point the first flight they have sevika basically wins but I stopped by Kaitlyn second fight so she is about to win but VI inadvertently activated the barrier
I just want a Sevika spinoff. She's clearly a leader, if subservient to bigger fish (pun intended). She clearly had muscle before she joined Silco and honestly I just want to see how Silco won her over, since she holds loyalty in such high regard. She's as intricately written as the main characters despite being a henchman and we all want to see more of her. She is indeed a scary lady.
Oh I love that cosplay! Every time I say it can't get any better than this and you just keep surprising us! I also love Sevika, she's a really good side character. She is literally anti-Vi.
Interestingly, Vi wanted to fight against Piltover. Had Vander not talked her out of it then there is a good chance that Vi would have been fighting right along side with Sevika. I imagine they would have been good friends.
Now I imagine Vi having a crush on her when she was younger. Strong, willing to die for what (and who) she cares for, determined, Vi would definitely look up to her a a child
What I appreciate about Sevika is that, while she's loyal to only the cause, not by a second she contradicts her beliefs. While she's shown to the audience as an antagonist with not much screen time, she shows a lot of integrity, or at least from her point of view that would be integrity. Never compromising, even in the face of Armageddon. That's an admirable quality, and humanizes the character a lot, even though she isn't loyal to people or family, but the cause.
I completely agree with you on Sevika. I didn't think too much of her until she talked to Silko about giving Jinx time, at that moment I realized there was a lot more to her than I had realized, and just like that she became one of my favorite characters.
One clip I really liked with Sevika is during the fight in the bar. They are kind of having a break, Sevika is sitting (out of frame), and Vi throws a glass in her direction and hits the wall beside Sevika. Sevika's whole demeanor is more or less just: "Alright, up and at'em"
I know i’m late but i simply love how Sevika’s annoyance with Jinx and Silco is set up so perfectly. Think about it purely from Sevika’s perspective. You stop following Vander because he seemingly abandoned the cause to raise and protect his 4 children. You join someone who is finally willing to do what it takes to further your cause. You help that someone remove Vander and his four brats. Just kidding! One of them lives. Oh and becomes Silco’s adopted daughter. And she goes on missions with you and has emotional outbursts while operating a mini-gun. It only makes sense for Sevika to be Silco’s replacement in Season 2. I think she’d be reluctant to play second fiddle to a third boss.
One thing i find interesting about Sevika is that she uses the same Line “Everyone, out” the same way Vander did when he wanted to talk with Vi alone. I think that Sevika’s confidence really shows in that scene because no one defied her, everyone left, showing us that she runs the bar and the people in it
What fascinates me the most about Sevika is her strong moral code along with her dedication and loyalty to the cause. She is also a formidable warrior and a brilliant tactician and I wonder if it isn't her daddy issues that are getting in the way of her being a great leader, a role that she keeps passing off to men whom she works for. As usual, your costume and commentary were great! :)
Great analysis! I like that you're digging into the secondary characters. Although there isn't as much going on with Sevika in terms of writing as there is with the main characters, she's still very well written and animated and the voice acting really sells it. -I would let her step on me- I wouldn't get along with her in real life because of her beliefs and actions, but I sort of admire her sincerity and sense of honor.
Great analysis as always. I LOVE Sevika. She is hands down my favorite supporting character. A lot of people brush her off as the dumb muscle that works for the villain, but that is not who she is. She is a true believer in the nation of Zuan. She "betrayed" Vander, but that was only after he completely abandoned the cause and (in her mind) the people of Zuan in order to suck up to Topside and maintain a stagnant and abusive status quo. I love her confidence, her style, her loyalty and her uncompromising believe to the cause.
I think that Sevika was simply trying to keep Silco "on task" when she gives the "I didn't always get along with my old man... " speech. It wouldn't go against her character as you have described her.
I didn't know how much I needed this video. Sevika became one of my favorite characters by the end of the season, she's a true loyal soldier and I've seen a lot of people saying she might take silco's place next season but I truly think she doesn't the main chair, she likes to be second hand and be at service of someone who deserves it. Amazing cosplay, you keep getting the bar higher and higher!
Totally agree, I think if she thought she was the right person for the job she would have already taken power herself without much effort. She knows how and where she can be most useful to the cause.
Unfortunately she might have to. With Silco dead, the only other people in the underground who could fill the power vacuum are the chem barons. As a true believer in the cause, she can not let that happen. She might not be as cunning as Silco, but she commands authority and knows the inner workings of Silco's empire. All hail the queen.
Sevika deserves to become a playable character in League. She has strong personality plus amazing design and weapon (chimtech arm). She has not died during season 1, so it could be a possibility, since League's characters can not die during the show. Unfortunately as she has not been introduced in the game yet there's a possiblity of her being killed or just forgotten on the show :(
She stands out in so many ways, and all of them are great. In a show with so much intrigue, betrayals real or projected, underhanded tactics and dealings, Sevika is honest in every word she speaks. She even outright tells Silco, if Finn had been better she would have switched. "Not for a worm like him." She didn't say never, or not at all, just that Finn didn't meet her standards. I'm looking forward to see what she does in the future, I'd love to see her running the show. She has the charisma needed to be a leader for sure.
It's so easy to forget Sevika with such a dense cast of characters that are all so fascinating in their own right. It really made me appreciate how much of a badass she really is and I can't wait to see more of her in the next season she may become my favorite character.
The fact that Sevika is actually the most loyal person on this show, she might of betrayed Vander but in her eyes he betrayed the Undercity first by refusing to fight for them.
Sevika was easily my favourite character, she just completely came out of left field for me and just left a really strong impression with her limited screentime, I really hope to see more of her.
@@therealtaydev I honestly, I think the writers are largely at fault for making the only people who challenge Piltover to be the "villains" who are happy to disparage thier people at any cost.
Okay, WHERE do you keep getting these cosplay outfits?! 😍 Sevika's design is KILLER, and it's so cool that you were able to recreate it. If you'd been able to make a model of her arm, I'd be very, very, VERY impressed.
Sevika is one of those personalities i've never encountered. Maybe that's why I love her so much. She is so hard to read for me. Idk what it is about her. She was very well written. Maybe because is the first person that posseses power and not something personal to prove. She doesnt excuse things when she is looking bad. Like her image is not her priority, She just deals with things. Sevika is someone I dreamed as a child to be, reliable, STRONG AF mind and body, independent, complex but sturdy, tough, VERY intellignt actually lol
OMG Sevika's going to show her truly leadership in S2... Yeah, she as Caitlyn are the most underrated Arcane's characters I think they're some kind a key of the show.
I can't wait for S02 Sevika, I honestly believe that she'll have to take on either Vi or Jinx as an ally in order to keep one of the from messing up the Zaunite cause and based on not one but two of her huge fights with Vi, I'm banking on the writers pulling a fast one on us and forcing them to work together. And I also believe that Vi is someone Sevika would really respect; not as a leader but as an ally. She knows she's capable, mentally stable and a powerful asset with ties to Piltover through Caitlin. Honestly, now that I'm thinking of it, with Silco out of the picture Vi would probably be the last person Sevika would want to make an enemy out of. And seeing how she isn't driven by pride, it might actually be her who reaches out to Vi with something like "I know we hate each other's guts but this only works if we can work together".
I saw Sevika as a cowboy/western kind of person. When you call her out as being a solider really ties into it. A lot of the old Western Archtype was man that had fought in the civil war and moved into the west to start over. So the over lap between solider and “cowboy” makes sense and it made you take make even more sense with the western style and core of the character. Loved how you picked up how much Sevika (who also is a kingmaker) treats Silko as a commanding officer and she is his XO. Great stuff.
I love how the moment you showed the clip where Sevika reveals her new arm, you also finally started talking with the other arm hidden away too. Great cosplaying ^^
When the support characters of a show are as compelling and the main characters, you know it's a gem. Watching this makes me want to binge watch all 9 episodes again.
I like the part when she killed Finn. Typical bad guy would get rid of someone like Sevika, just for the possibility she had, but Silco knows she will obey as long as their goals align. It only strenghtens what you said about her having his trust even if he doesn't fully trust anyone.
That's some amazing cosplay. Sevika is the most based character in the show. She and Silco have my eternal respect for giving everything to the cause when few others would
A great analysis. Sevika is one of my favorite characters from the show. Your breakdown makes me see Sevika as the Captain America of Arcane. Both are people that believe in their ideals and will do whatever they can to uphold and protect them.
Sevika is one of my favorite characters in Arcane. She seemed like a one off character but ended up being an important piece, shaping the story of many of the main characters.
Really glad you made a video on Siveka. Schnee made a great video on what a well made character she is and how she moved the story, but I love your "let's explore this really interesting person" perspective. Thanks as always.
Great video for a great character (and a great cosplay)! I was thinking... her ending in front of the empty chair in Silco's office might mean a lot of things. She's waiting for Silco? She's clinging to a cause with no leader, as a good soldier? She's waiting for the next person to follow? The chair is waiting for her? I love that shot!
I couldn't quite pin point what it was that I liked about sevika but this and various videos explained it for me, usually characters like sevika are brash, cocky, snarky and one note but not her she's composed, level headed, and in her own stoic way passionate, and loyal, its refreshing to see characters like her.
Thanks to you, I start to understand about Sevika's character and thoughts. Though many sees her as "punching bags", yet she indeed deserves a respect too no matter which side she is, wins or loses in fight.
oh, damn. I didn't notice Fin with the lighter at 13:15 when watching the show. It's small details like this that make Arcane a truly brilliant production.
Could you imagine doing another sevika video in the future? I loved this one ❤ she's my favorite character and your video helped me understand parts of her behavior and core beliefs better. I'm excited what's gonna be added to her character in S2
For me Sevika is one of the few still sane people in Zaun xD And it never felt like she betrayed Vander, but I get why Vi would think so, because she never had the chance to see the full picture^^ She also knows her strength and it´s always interesting to watch how different her and Vi´s fighting style is despite both of them using their fists. Vi is almost like a pro at boxing, she knows the techniques and how to use them, whereas Sevika does not. But she uses everthing she has learned and what helps her to somehow to get the upper hand. The final question after season 1 is: will she herself take over as a leader or will she search for a new one to follow?
thats a hard one. Sevika doesn't have the social engineering skills atm and there are no other great leaders I can see Sevika trusting enough to follow. What about a Vi Sevika team up.... ooooh
Can't remember where I heard it, might've been a TED Talk, but someone out there taught a lesson about how it can really benefit a person to not "fake it til you make it", but "fake it til you become it". Something about the patterns of an individual's outward behavior, even just a person's posture, can have a great impact on their thoughts and feelings over time (or even just in the moment). I like to remember that little lesson... and remembering it now, I wonder if Sevika ever had some kind of stage where she faked being a good soldier until she became a good soldier.
Yay, Sevika! ^^ Great villain - smart, direct, and brutal. Didn't realize I liked her till I was glad she survived the season. Singed next, hopefully? Never seen such a psychologically interesting character with such little screentime.
When I watched that final episode I was too caught up in my emotions to realize why Sevika would be in Silco’s office, but this breakdown of her character made me realize that, in season 2, Sevika will probably be the new leader of the cause, the new leader of the nation of Zaun, and she’s obviously the perfect soldier but will she be a good leader?
14:38 Finn video next maybe? He’s my favorite character and I feel he’s more than just the traitorous worm people think he is. He’s a businessman who wants to make ends meet
Sevika is an amazing character. I wonder if she rises to become the new leader of Zaun in Season 2; the issue is, she was never truly a leader, not like Silco. She was also honest enough to know that, and it's why she followed him and supported him above her own pride and ego.
Sevika IS a soldier, but also a strong survivor. She’s confident, even after taking her lumps in previous run-ins, she re-emerges with swagger for the next round. She loses an arm, yet doesn’t miss a beat with her new appendage. She navigates politics with a plan: Support those with defined goals, ones that don’t waver due to weakness (I.e. emotional attachments). Though it’s clear she respects Silco, her actual loyalty is to ANYONE with ability and willful determination to make the Nation of Zaun a reality. Once a sovereign Zaun is established, the under city may not just survive, but potentially thrive. It’s clear that she’s willing to employ any means (black market deals, intimidation, murder) to attain that goal. Additionally, she’s proactively positioned herself for lead once change occurs. Never the type to let things happen TO her, she’s at the ready to wrangle control so she’ll always land on her feet.
I like Sevika's "currency". She is a woman of power, of care, a true soldier that believes in honesty and loyalty. It is almost like Silco only trustworthy and only intimidating if YOU did something wrong. It's leadership in its RAW form; confident, correct, honest, dependable, capable, has foresight, plans well, see's & understands emotions of others, factual, and strangely level headed. I love the type of woman she is, I love her power, her *owning* whatever she does, especially what she believes in and UGHK~! I *LOVE* how you explained this, Georgia-Sensei🧡 you have your own amazing, strengths, powers and EPIC abilities that are super attractive, useful, beneficial, and help us want to look up to and do ^_^ THANK YOU xD! 🙏🏽
Sevika is the best bad@ss, male or female, I’ve seen in any form of media. Cool under fire, smart, quick, and fluid. She is, hands down, one of my all time favorite characters.
I just realized that when she confronts Jinx you can see her shoulder begin to glow, as the shimmer compartiment begins to activate. But she controls it.
Amazing analysis! I've really warmed up to Sevika's character. And even though I know she doesn't care about being the leader I do think that now that Silco is gone she would be the perfect person to lead the undercity. Not only was she propbably the most respected person in the undercity after Vander and and later Silco (Assuming people ever really respected Silco in the first place. Cause he wasn't of the people like Vander was.) Like you said she genuenly cares about making life better for her people. Not just power. She's loyal, empathetic, direct, honest, commanding of respect, rasional, not power hungry and cares about the cause. SHE'S BASICALLY VANDER IF HE NEVER GAVE UP FIGHTING!
Sevika is also a good leader to her underlings, we always see her interacting and playing/gambling with them. Her underlings seems to be content with her leadership, she doesn't use them as a cannon fodder when fighting.
Someone pointed out metaphors in who smokes and what lighters they use. Sevika struggling to light her cigar while in silco's office at the end is a way of saying she no longer has someone to be loyal to- hes dead
Another thing about sevika, i love how they wrote her. The whole season, shes everyones punching bag and she rarely is seen winning a fight, but regardless of that, she is written so well that we don't see it. We don't doubt her strength and abilities, and no matter how many times vi kicked her ass or jinx humiliates her, we still respect and understand sevika's potential and that shes a force to be reckoned with
Stellar cosplay. Sevika is a character that didn’t interest me on my first viewing but intrigued me more and more as I thought about her in the wake of finishing the season. She seems to really know who she is and what she’s about, so it confused me how contradictory a lot of her in-story actions seemed when compared to each other. I’m really glad that more people are talking about her.
4:35 Silco is not blind to Jinx being a problem, he later even tells her to go and "take time". He just doesn't do it in an aggressive business way. He also later says that if he loses Jinx, he is going to lose his problems. He completely understands that Jinx has issues, but he deals with them differently
Wow. Before this video I was too invested in the journeys of the more colourful characters to see what a well written character Sevika really is. Thanks.
I know she doesn't have much screen time in season 2 cuz id loved hearing you analyse her more! (because oh my god her ending-) She's such an underrated character, thank you so much for this
I think it's been mentioned before but every time Sevika loses a battle, she upgraded her arm so that those situations that caused her to lose, wouldn't happen again. For example, Ekko locks her up with that stone looking stuff, so she adds on the lightsaber so if that happens again, she can cut her way out. Caitlin shoots the auto injector, so she changes it to like a shotgun loading style, aaand I think there might've been one more maybe? But it's been a hot minute since I watched it. The trauma is strong in that series lol. I saw someone point out that detail after watching the series and it kind of blew me away. Like yea, she's making herself stronger but she's basing it off of her experiences and it's not something the show spends time telling you about. It's just happening and progressing on its own. Super cool. Great video! Have a nice day :)
What I like about Sevika is her adaptability after battle. Her arm at first had a auto injector when Caitlyn exploits that, she makes it where she injects it manually so, it doesn't happen again.
Oh brilliant I didnt notice that. Thanks
She's defenitly not only muscles but brain too
Awesome. I didn't catch that. She also built her sword in to her arm after Jinx interrogates her so she can't be disarmed again... until she's literally disarmed :-)
Could be that the arm is just damaged from Caitlyn's shot and she didn't manage to get it fixed.
@@nomadskout9862 yeah, but she's not working on the pumping mechanisms. What she's doing there could be just routine maintenance.
An underrated Sevika moment: Walking through the club to Silco’s office she just takes someone’s giant bottle of booze without sparing them a glance and they’re just like ”Well okay then, guess that’s not mine anymore…”
Yeah. She's so cool
she is a thief!

I know that was a great scene she owns who she is and knows what's in this bar is hers =P
When she grabs the chair for Finn in the office, takes a second to wipe the dust off. We still don’t know which way she’ll go loyalty wise even now.
Sevika is the most emotionally controlled person in the show. She has insane ego strength, equal to Vander, and loyalty to a cause that never wavers. Such an amazing character
not to forget she´s still standing after Vi and Jinx messed with her pretty badly^^
she really seems more like the hound of the undercity than vander. She's just whoever is in charge of the cause's lapdog
@@sunflowerice yeah, she literally got almost tag teamed in the portion of the story 😆 poor Sevika, got her ass handed to her by Vi and then knocked out and humiliated by Jinx.. Im sure she didnt want to see hide nor hair of either for a hot minute
Truly the perfect soldier.
She's my most favorite character in the show.
I always liked how Sevika is never scared of Jinx. At first glance, Jinx comes off as creepy but Sevika is never fazed. Especially when Jinx ties her up.
She is very tough and can handle so much
I also love that she’s a portrayal of the perfect soldier without being seen as emotionless or have no autonomy. Instead, she’s a good solider because she can control her emotions and chooses to be a good soldier for a cause she genuinely believes in.
she's so good at it
It's interesting how much power and intimidation she has while being the least prideful/arrogant character in the show
Yes when she walks into the bar
I get it
@@GeorgiaDow yup. Also as has been mentioned, love the outfit :)
Yeah. Loyalty is a two-way street, Vander broke faith with Sevika by abandoning the fight.
is it really a betrayal if she was never on finn's side?
Sevika does.
that is something that I didnt really look at till you mentioned it now. thanks for this addition
thats useful🤭🤭
@@sr1tani RUclips comments are supposed to be useful? 😵
I found out that Sevika means in hindi "servant of god", and makes so much sense since she's one of the most loyal characters in the show. I love Sevika, I think her back story have so much potential
wow nice didnt know that
Wow. SO many things in this show have a deeper meaning.
Woah…yet another reason for me to rewatch the show. That’s awesome!
Also of note, Vi is the ablative of “vis” in Latin, which means “force”. Her personality, methods, mannerisms, fighting style…mostly force>finesse.
I felt she didn't get enough credit for how resilient and how much of a badass she is. She's quite a fighter, i could easily see her vi having a friend/rival style of relationship.
yes they showed such respect for each other
She's an amazing fighter.
@@GeorgiaDow definitely 😊
@@Dragonblade722 Yeah, some things were just straight black, white and no gray with vi.
I feel like she badly underestimated Vi in the first fight.
What I love about Sevika's walk is that she doesn't dodge from anyone. People get out of her way.
YES! great catch, and totally 100% on the nose
“sevika is not a traitor…”. yasssss! u’r the only one i saw who recognizes this.
most people ignore that vander was collaborating with the oppressors. we sympathize with his reasons, but he did it through a secret arrangement. but sevika is most often considered the traitor.
she is just loyal to the cause
Treason is often a matter of perspective.
Sevika is a perfect solider.
She knows when to get into her opponent’s head, sticks to a cause and doesn’t undermine authority but still questions it when needed.
I enjoyed her character and if she gets added to league I think I found a new main .
she is such a great character
@@DarkHarlequin They'd either hit it off, or immediately but heads. One or the other
Instead we've got that redhead baroness who lost her child in Jayce's attack on Silco shimmer factory. At least I hope we see her more in the show. Yeah I think Reni is Renata Glasc
I ADORED Sevika's advice to Silco about giving Jinx space. It shows what a dimensional character she is.
im looking forward to seeing sevika inherit the mess that jinx made - the true test of character is what a person does with power.
I doubt Savika will be the leader, maybe one of the undercity council members will be leading.
@@sqxbarto9229 but then she just keeps doing what she's already been doing, there's no development in that. She's followed twice, now it's time for her to lead.
@@thra-x1855 That's true, we will see...
All we know is she will quit smoking ......... thats about it :)
I think something else worth pointing out is; Jinx is the reason she has the prosthetic arm in the first place and Jinx even uses that as a threat when she has her tied up. "I feel like you and I got off on the wrong arm. Maybe we should try the other." It feels like it adds even more weight to her relationship with Silco that in that moment she still gave advice to him about dealing with Jinx.
good point =)
When she told Silco that Jinx would come to him... it made me think. She doesn't care that Silco is playing dad/is a dad to her. She showed some good compassion and friendship and understanding when she told him to let Jinx come to him. I think to her, it's okay if Silco cares for this girl. Sevika just wants her away from the operations and missions because things go sideways when she's there. Keep her out of the cause kind of thing. Maybe? IDK, just a thought.
i think that could be
I think it's also worth noting, somebody may already have said this in previous comments, that Vi and Sevika even give each other breaks during their battles?
I think in Act 4 Sevika will win a head to head fight against Vi, there's no way story wise to just let Vi keep winning 😂 I really enjoy your channel and your cosplay! keep on keepin' on!
interesting I wonder how it will play up. Or will Vi and Sevika join forces ?
@@komickid833 I agree, but a win is a win- all is fair in love and war
@@senpairaijin7079 True enough I just thought it was funny that in an actual fight Savika is better but VI is always coming out ahead
She would be a good person to cast a spin off from
I’m sure we’ll see more of Sevika in S2.
I agree, Sevika never underestimated Vi. Im sure Sevika saw a great warrior on Vi, that's why she respected her in the moment of battle
Oh I love that cosplay! Every time I say it can't get any better than this and you just keep surprising us! I also love Sevika, she's a really good side character. She is literally anti-Vi.
I love all of her cosplays.
Thank you Raven =)) and Damian I was very excited for this Cosplay
@@GeorgiaDow yes we know.
I almost wish Finn were a big enough character to get his own video just to see Georgia's outfit for him.
Yeah i love her cosplay
Interestingly, Vi wanted to fight against Piltover. Had Vander not talked her out of it then there is a good chance that Vi would have been fighting right along side with Sevika. I imagine they would have been good friends.
Yeah, honestly, had it not been for Silco kidnapping Vander, I can see Vi joining Silco’s revolution.
Now I imagine Vi having a crush on her when she was younger. Strong, willing to die for what (and who) she cares for, determined, Vi would definitely look up to her a a child
I'm not sure if good friends, but definitely would be loyal comrades between them.
Sevika fights for the Cause regardless of the leader and I love her for it!
she really does
I completely agree with you on Sevika. I didn't think too much of her until she talked to Silko about giving Jinx time, at that moment I realized there was a lot more to her than I had realized, and just like that she became one of my favorite characters.
yes she doesn't get enough credit
One clip I really liked with Sevika is during the fight in the bar. They are kind of having a break, Sevika is sitting (out of frame), and Vi throws a glass in her direction and hits the wall beside Sevika. Sevika's whole demeanor is more or less just: "Alright, up and at'em"
yes and that mutual respect
Sevika is the antithesis of Vi. The Anti-Vi. Also a good character.
I seenyou watched the Schnee video
@@obara7366 Same.
awesome =)) and Schnee does a great job
Correct.
I agree on those thoughts of sevika and thanks i enjoyed getting this one ready
Great analysis! I like that you're digging into the secondary characters. Although there isn't as much going on with Sevika in terms of writing as there is with the main characters, she's still very well written and animated and the voice acting really sells it. -I would let her step on me- I wouldn't get along with her in real life because of her beliefs and actions, but I sort of admire her sincerity and sense of honor.
😅
Glad you enjoyed!
I have a lot of fun doing them thanks
Her loyalty never was to him.
@@magnarcreed3801it was to the cause

Unfortunately a lot of people judge her with a black and white viewpoint when she’s more complex than that.
@@therealtaydev I honestly, I think the writers are largely at fault for making the only people who challenge Piltover to be the "villains" who are happy to disparage thier people at any cost.

that made me laugh and no i didnt notice it
Poor dude. First Jinx names him Chuck and now Vi and Sevika fighting in his bar😆
Okay, WHERE do you keep getting these cosplay outfits?! 😍
Sevika's design is KILLER, and it's so cool that you were able to recreate it.
She's STILL doing more Arcane videos like how I keep coming back to this amazing show to binge it again. You're such a legend, Georgia!
Yay I will do the rest I am missing also
@@GeorgiaDow Don't forget Heimendinger's Dog!
Sevika is so incredibly cool.
I actually really liked Sevika, definetely an underrated character
So nice you noticed : ))
@@GeorgiaDow I looked through a good number of comments and no one has even mentioned it so I had to point it out! I love details like these ^^
When the support characters of a show are as compelling and the main characters, you know it's a gem. Watching this makes me want to binge watch all 9 episodes again.
Yes and so many layers to her
I like the part when she killed Finn. Typical bad guy would get rid of someone like Sevika, just for the possibility she had, but Silco knows she will obey as long as their goals align. It only strenghtens what you said about her having his trust even if he doesn't fully trust anyone.
I liked Sevika before, but now I have an _entirely_ new appreciation for the character. Incredible analysis, thank you!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✨
I'm so glad!
Both are people that believe in their ideals and will do whatever they can to uphold and protect them.
good analogy i like that
Sevika is one of my favorite characters in Arcane. She seemed like a one off character but ended up being an important piece, shaping the story of many of the main characters.
Yes she was a supportive character but she really steals the room when she is on scene
I really hope Sevika gets more screentime. A very cool character and has a lot of potential.
Sevika is such a fantastic character. I'm so excited to see what they do with her in S2!
Really glad you made a video on Siveka. Schnee made a great video on what a well made character she is and how she moved the story, but I love your "let's explore this really interesting person" perspective. Thanks as always.
he does wonderful work
Great video for a great character (and a great cosplay)!
One of my favorite character of all time
Could you imagine doing another sevika video in the future? I loved this one ❤ she's my favorite character and your video helped me understand parts of her behavior and core beliefs better. I'm excited what's gonna be added to her character in S2
i cant wait and it will happen for sure
Sevika is probably in my top three favorite characters in this show
You go in depth on a character in Arcane and suddenly i like them waaay more
thats a huge compliment thanks
the fact that Sevika is waiting for a now dead Silco makes me so sad
ouch :(
For me Sevika is one of the few still sane people in Zaun xD
And it never felt like she betrayed Vander, but I get why Vi would think so, because she never had the chance to see the full picture^^
She also knows her strength and it´s always interesting to watch how different her and Vi´s fighting style is despite both of them using their fists.
Never seen such a psychologically interesting character with such little screentime.
singed is very interesting also isn't he
When I watched that final episode I was too caught up in my emotions to realize why Sevika would be in Silco’s office, but this breakdown of her character made me realize that, in season 2, Sevika will probably be the new leader of the cause, the new leader of the nation of Zaun, and she’s obviously the perfect soldier but will she be a good leader?
No. She knows it but I think Sevika will realize she needs some lessons on leadership from someone she can trust.
She was also honest enough to know that, and it's why she followed him and supported him above her own pride and ego.
no she doesn't want to be either she is a great commander and soldier but she isn't good at managing people
I love the way you analyzed her body language, it’s the thing I noticed and admired most about her.
Danger thanks so much for this !! made my day = ))
@@GeorgiaDow 🧡🧡🧡 & support ^_^!
Never wanted to be choked to death so badly in my entire life
Sevika is the best bad@ss, male or female, I’ve seen in any form of media.
When I first watcged arcane I could all ready tell that sevika knew exactly what triggeres to play for vi and jinx
She had a lot of character development, and I hope she takes Silco's place!
Sevika is probably my favorite character in Arcane, full stop. She is just ..... perfect, I guess. :-O
I really enjoy her also.
Istg, I thought this video was new. It feels like folks are only now realizing how interesting Sevika is as a character.
Finally, some more Sevika love! Another amazing analytic of a great character. Thank you!
Someone pointed out metaphors in who smokes and what lighters they use. Sevika struggling to light her cigar while in silco's office at the end is a way of saying she no longer has someone to be loyal to- hes dead
oh nice one missed that
Another thing about sevika, i love how they wrote her.
Which a signal that Silco care for her even without him realizing
I loved Sevika, and this video really made me understand why. Thank you!
thx
Brilliant analysis thanks for that information yes it is true =)
Sevika was never one of my favourite characters, but she was definitely the one I found most interesting
