Do u ever go over the drop (the steep drops that are in the delta) and drop a jig?
You gotta find a nice drop and jig somthing that will move up and down not side to side. You can bait the jig as well.
I find it a nice switch when it's warm you never know what you'll pick up from bass, big catfish, even sturgeon. Have a blast.

Greg I've looked at charts for the Delta and the different things that may affect the fishing! You have a spider web of waterways to deal with and i can see it will be a challenge at least at times. I think maintaining your focus is what has to be done, just as you found that female after sorting through those little fish. I hope your tournament goes well and you find those big females.
