I've fished the delta since a buddy introduced it in the early '70s and I almost always learn a little something from your videos. At my age now, I'm too sensitive to the cold to be out there in the winter, so you're keeping me sane until February,, Thank You!
Love those little "Scupper Plug Bass" you caught on the jerk bait, Greg. You, and everybody else, KNOW to Re-Tie their baits after they get a "Good'un" on their line, especially after fishing around structures! (I DO include myself, as I've lost some BIG Bass by being Lazy!). Lol Loved the video, and thanks again for showing us what You Use on the Delta. Springtime is only a couple months from now, but its always fun to "Practice" in the Winter.
Great intro, went out to the river Sunday and nothing to be found; no crayfish, no turtles, no baitfish. Some other angler said he saw 1 small baby BG and that was it! It's like all those rotting leaves sucked up the oxygen and they all took off to deeper waters.
only Greg can say the fish will be hard to catch, ..... then proceed to catch 20 - 30 of them.. lol.. love your content and you edit like no other..!! Great job.. !
In NC we fish strippers in the dead of winter on a tidal river, fire tiger crank bait is a main lure and caught bass as bycatch to the striper target quite a bit. Ya now it’s a bass and not a striper as they’re so cold and no fight in em! Cheers man
@mikeyrivers3728 I'm right there with you my friend stop in 2010 and don't miss it one bit I'm out as much as I can in my kayak and my bass boat even if it just hanging out with my two dogs have a wonderful day
Greg, with the Golden Mussel being an issue I'd strongly recommend getting 1 boat ready for lakes and another ready only for the delta. Might be a good idea to make a trip and have the lake boat inspected and tagged now so you can use it in 30 days. Who knows what is going to come of it, but always good to prepare
Thank you Greg there is nothing better than starting my day than watching your catching bass in the colder fall time! A couple those large bass you lost at the dock always hits deep in our soul, but we know it goes with fishing. You got back up and kept fishing and that’s what builds our character and makes us a better angler! The lake looked beautiful with the rising sun and it was a great day bass fishing and sharing it with us! Tight lines take care and God bless!
Currently 34 degrees here in Boise, Idaho. Night time temperatures are anywhere between 22 degrees to 30 degrees. I haven’t caught a bass in months. Good thing there’s great trout fishing in my backyard on the Boise River. But I still miss that thump from a bass. Side note are you sponsored by Berkley? I notice that most the baits you throw are Berkley baits.
When those huge bass came off, I sprinkled the F bombs with the typical, "Hai yas!" that Chinese moms are famous for LOL Maybe it was the Crescent Rolls instead of Taquitos 😊 (As my youngest son says about leftovers, I'm in a food coma.) Hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. 🦃 That's the truth about the Delta - it's feast or famine 🙄 Very 😎 that you eventually found the quality while getting out of the wind 👍
yup I was out there this morning at 29 degrees and got nothing :( water temp 50. I need help lol (lake Stanley Draper Oklahoma) I see you doing really bright colors, I didnt do that.
Yeah Greg up North Boston born baby def stops completely but certain spots and temps bring out a few giants but thats about it. I usually stock up w blmy bday and christmas alot of free tackle is given or bought by me around this time for spring months and summer to fall but yeah it sucks right now 🙃 thats why I love these videos
I guess i'm lucky, my local river actually fishes better in the winter...I think it may have to do with reduced pressure...It's a small river in a city with a decent population...Last winter I was breaking up the thin ice on the top and catching bass in between ice sheets with a top water walking bait! I have actually had some of my best fishing days in the middle of winter...
I know it's heartbreaking to lose a big one... I had one over 22" , on the ketchboard, DURING a tournament...and it flipped off and was gone.. it messed my head up for the rest of the day..!!
BESIDES LOVE MEN NEED FISHING !! Besides love men need fishing And for both, most are wishing Catching trophies chosen best To be envied by the rest. Fishing is a game of sport Loved by all, both tall and short. We must fool the fish’s eye If we plan to stir and fry. Some use boats while others wade As they fish the sun or shade. Delta is definitely slowing down, but I was out yesterday (Sunday) and got a 7.6 lb striper on a 6" cull shad. That was a fun bite, biggest fish I've ever caught. The link in your bio isn't working for your jig. What brand are you using?
Gonna spend Feb/March in Sac. Am a Midwest small mouth creek fisherman. Have tried the America and Folsum lake and the Sac in March. No catches, no fish seen. Is the delta the place I should fish in Feb/March?
You think you broke 10 lb for the top five fish you landed, excluding the two big fish you lost? That invasive red Swamp Crawfish isn't great for the ecosystem of the Delta but it sure has been good for fishermen... Thanks for yet another skillfully edited mini documentary. It's really time consuming to edit something so well that the narrative seems effortless.
Dude you set the hook so hard on that one at the dock. Plus you didn’t re-tie. No wonder it broke. I enjoy your videos but they’re almost too painful to watch 🤦🏼♂️
cant avoid the delta now ebmud shutting lakes down seems california is hell bent on shutting down hunting and fishing i bet the delta will be next not just for boaters either those muscles can live 30 days out of water what about your gear their still allowing bank fishing that doesn't make sense at all.that muscle was discovered at russo`s oct.11 how long has it been there its in all bodies of water by now why panic and shut everything down right before xmas baitshops sporting goods stores etc etc will lose business in an already failing economy. im ashamed of california

@billywilliams3527 I feel your pain..!! same here..
Boy, I would take a dink-fest right now for sure!! I'm stuck waiting for my lakes to freeze over. Impatiently waiting for ice season!!
Lol

That hurts when you lose a nice fish! Thanks for letting us hang out with you!! Baby bass can be aggravating, but at least you caught fish!
Great video Greg! I always enjoy your content and love to see you getting after it and catchin'em....tight lines, and fish on!!🐟
Great intro, went out to the river Sunday and nothing to be found; no crayfish, no turtles, no baitfish. Some other angler said he saw 1 small baby BG and that was it! It's like all those rotting leaves sucked up the oxygen and they all took off to deeper waters.
Bro! Some of your videos makes me wish I lived in California! The fishing where you are is far better than where I live!
Something about fishing docks is just so satisfying.
Agreed!
The Pain is real, I hate losing the Big one Atleast you have proof. Really enjoy your videos.
I know but totally my good up on that one!
only Greg can say the fish will be hard to catch, ..... then proceed to catch 20 - 30 of them.. lol.. love your content and you edit like no other..!! Great job.. !

As my number one fishing video's to watch get them coming my friend i don't watch tv anymore you are the best 😊
Haven’t watched television since Valentine’s Day 2005, going outside is the best just waiting for the sun to rise)
@mikeyrivers3728 I'm right there with you my friend stop in 2010 and don't miss it one bit I'm out as much as I can in my kayak and my bass boat even if it just hanging out with my two dogs have a wonderful day
Much appreciated!
Gotta have a pick-me-up after a rough day today haha. Front got the fish all finicky today. Thanks GB
Cheers!!! Coffee and a fishing video. The day is starting out in fine fashion. Thanks for the video.
Greg you are my son’s favorite RUclipsr ! Thank you for the post.
Thank you sir!

In the winter I have luck around train bridges over passes and pumps there's a few around me that they conjugate around in the cold months
Lost a giant at Berryessa over a year ago and still haunts me till this day. Gotta keep going though. Thanks for taking us along with you.
We're all frozen over here in Wisconsin, except maybe some rivers .. I depend on your videos to help me make it to spring... 😢😢
Any day fishing is a better day than working is all I got to say enjoy your show

Man you held it together so well after losing 2 big ones.
A good day in the winter sets you up for a better day in the summer 🥰🥰🥰,
changing to bigger hooks might help 🎣
Greg, I love your Delta trips. Those 6 to 8lb biggins, are there. You've caught them before, and you're do bro. 😎 🎣
Cheers gb let’s gooooo
Love starting my morning off watching greg while drinking a beer on my way to work!
Fall jig bass are always fun. Losing the biggest fish of the day…..oof😳🥺😖Thank you for sharing your time on the water Greg😎🤙💪🔥🎣🦃🪚✌🏻
Your amazing at getting them off the hook with your net 😂
Good stuff Greg! Try slowing down that crank in the cold.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And thanks as always Gregor!

Thank you for the vidieo Gregg. You have taught me alot over the years and I appreciate all of it.

That's the truth about the Delta - it's feast or famine 🙄 Very 😎 that you eventually found the quality while getting out of the wind 👍
Jerkbaits, football head jigs, and big thumper spinnerbaits have been my colder water baits in the PNW.
Yayyy I been waiting for you to post an winter fishing video needs some tips and tricks 😂😂😂
Great fun trip! Thanks for sharing!!
O man.....I felt that sting myself....actually gave a little shout myself......

yup I was out there this morning at 29 degrees and got nothing :( water temp 50. I need help lol (lake Stanley Draper Oklahoma) I see you doing really bright colors, I didnt do that.
Can’t believe that one came off by the dock
I know but totally my fault on it
Yeah Greg up North Boston born baby def stops completely but certain spots and temps bring out a few giants but thats about it. They started closing all my local lakes and even barryesssa because of the clam thing, super tragic but should keep those fish pretty unpressured
yeah that fish was a giant
Cant wait to get a truck & kayak next year .
What's in the water directly to the left of the boat at 17:28? Grass patch?
First fish is a Chris Hanson interview
😂😂😂

21:25 that definitely stings 😢
I think you messing with that net before she was ready cost you lol
That old barge damn near always holds fish
Here in the north east, the fish go deep and feed on bait fish.
I know it's heartbreaking to lose a big one... I had one over 22" , on the ketchboard, DURING a tournament...and it flipped off and was gone.. it messed my head up for the rest of the day..!!

Question for you Greg, and everyone else in Chat. I live in GA, but my question is so bass not go for topwater as often?
Boat flips only!
Curious if you use floro or mono for your jig. I always use braid because I’m afraid of missing a bite.
No not the break off!! Good to see the cheater jig will always get bites though
What up early morning
😂 I never bring a net to bass fishing. No net big fish
Gonna spend Feb/March in Sac. Am a Midwest small mouth creek fisherman. Have tried the America and Folsum lake and the Sac in March. No catches, no fish seen. Is the delta the place I should fish in Feb/March?
Cheers to all the beer drinkers out there😂😂😂😂
You tried fishing berryessa since they announced the golden oyster regs?
What jig is that? The link in the description isn't working.
Keitech
Why don't you use the Treble hook on your baits? I'm from Brazil, I don't know, I have a law that prohibits using?

Greg what's your opinion on this golden mussel situation???
Beautiful Morning Virginia love
What species are in the delta out there?
I don’t know why you didn’t bring it to the net at the surface it’s a fish it can never overpower you 7 pound fish 160 pound Greg
Shimano was his thing till abu started sponsoring him
Do you not like to fish for trout?
Newbie question to the jerkbait world. Does the plastic jerkbait work as well as hardbaits isn this same situation?
Didn't skunk.
Dude you set the hook so hard on that one at the dock. Plus you didn’t re-tie. No wonder it broke. I enjoy your videos but they’re almost too painful to watch 🤦🏼♂️
Love your videos but your ability to lose quality fish on the jig is noticeable. Please be open to trying a different brand or brands
Always lose fish on jerk baits.
Why is it skipping every 2-3 seconds in the intro?
cant avoid the delta now ebmud shutting lakes down seems california is hell bent on shutting down hunting and fishing
