I get where he’s coming from. If it were up to me I’d have a hall of fame ceremony every five years. Putting five or six guys in every year was always just going to inevitably dilute the thing. Imagine just five guys every five years. The list of names would be undeniable. Only the best of the best. There would only be 75 players in the HOF instead of over 400. It would add prestige and meaning and people would be genuinely interested about who would be going in.
NBA should make their own Hall of Fame to celebrate those players. Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is for the elite of the elite. Draymond would belong in the NBA Hall of Fame, but not the Naismith Hall of Fame.
Guys who have never won anything, don't know what it takes to win. Every winning team needs a glue guy that will do the dirty work and distribute the ball.
Ben Wallace is 5x All NBA also. Surprised yall don't know. Also, Dwight is 8 time All NBA....Draymond & Rodman don't hold weight individually but their team success helps them. Dwight & Ben Wallace are HOFers without the ring because their individual body of work states it. They both led the league in Blocks & Rebounds in the same season with Ben being the shortest ever to do it & amass over 2,000 blocks.
I dunno, cause Rodman stats would be even better on a trash team. I could only imagine his rebounds(offensive boards) if he was on a doo doo team. Dwight to me came in during the end of the big man era. So his numbers were kinda ballooned imo. The best centers at the time were an ancient Shaq, was Yao Ming’s foot still holding up? He over powered ilgaskas(forgot how to spell it) to get to the finals. I don’t think he found much resistance imo. Ben Wallace made a prime shaq work and limited him. That right there is hof worthy lol for real! The diesel in his prime got overpowered. I still remember Ben Wallace wearing head bands around his biceps lol.

@@luisagron1921 bro, just becuz the center position didn't have big names don't mean the big man era was dead. Lol cmon bro, there were still defensive specialists guarding Dwight like Kendrick Perkins, Tim Duncan, Garnett, Rasheed, AL Horford, Ben Wallace, and big bodies like Damarcus Cousins, AL Jefferson, Zac Randolph, Marc Gasol etc.
So wait, who is more hall of fame worthy? Draymond or Robert horry? There are hall of fame moments and careers. If Rodman is in the hall of fame draymond should be also, big shot bob deserves it also. Since he’s stacked so many hall of fame moments on his resume. My question is who yal think is more deserving
In my idea of what the HOF is neither Horry nor Draymond is deserving of a selection. Rodman is tho. Leading the league in rebounds for consecutive years and Leading the league in blocks, and being a amazing defender for his entire career shows he is an elite basketball player. Draymond pretends he is on that level too but he hasn't led the league in anything that he "thinks" he does well which really puts him in the Bruce Bowen, Shane Battier or Toney Allen category, not the Rodman, Dwight or Ben Wallace category.
@@Mandownsports yea I do think draymond is in that category you listed. Not a Rodman, pippen, glove type defender. More like a Swiss Army knife. But with the way the game is played now, that might be the new version of lock down defender. Versatility, iq, energy and leadership, few groin kicks here and there 😂 (he cost them 1) someone needs to have an attitude to get them over the hump. But horry, made so many big shots through his career when they matter most(title time)! His stats aren’t the best but he always made it happen. So it’s almost like basketball is like physics, relativity matters. Depends how on how you look at it.
@@Mandownsports superstars get the stats. That’s a gimme, but without those moments from role players they would fall short and not be as great. Maybe that’s why mj is the goat, he would carry the game and close it. I’m just thinking of what would be a good template for hof status 🤔 💭
@@luisagron1921 Draymond is no different from Bruce Bowen. Both got lucky to play with all-time greats but Draymond is louder and has talked his way into superstar money, and the HOF. smh
On the point of Draymond being replaceable. You literally replaced him with KD, who is another hall of fame level player, so that doesn’t make your point. That’s despite the fact that replacing Draymond with KD wouldn’t work. Warriors we’re a top 5 defense in most of their titles and they are nowhere near that without Draymond. The real question would be, could you replace Draymond with someone like Bam Adebayo and have the warriors still win all those titles? I’m not sure. Draymond is literally one of the top 10-15 best defenders of all time. On top of that being a great playmaker. Over the dynasty, Draymond and Steph line ups performed better than any other line ups including KD and Steph (I’ll have to fact-check that but I remember seeing that stat)
Draymond being a great defender doesn't result in him being a hall of fame player. He is closer to what Bruce Bowen was for the Spurs or what Tony Allen was for the Celtics. He is not what Dwight was with the Magic or what Rodman was for the Bulls & Pistons.

I agree but the NBA top 50 and top 75 list is the NBA's version of the HOF. it's just not advertised as that
Guys who have never won anything, don't know what it takes to win. Every winning team needs a glue guy that will do the dirty work and distribute the ball.
That has nothing to do with the HOF.

Ben himself said he was 6'7" but he was listed at 6'9".
His very valid points around the 11:25 mark said it all for me
