yeah, but they're a GAME MAKER!! You can post all you want about how great you made something, but if you're going to sell games which is the whole point to making systems, you can't harp on it too long, you need to get back to what makes money- MAKING GAMES!!!
This is proof that Nintendo is still the purest console and game producers on the market. They did so much new and created one of, if not the best game we've had in a long while.
Remember back when people were being critical of Windwaker's art style. Personally I though it was great then they went back to the realistic feel. Now they met in between. Love it.
There's a lot of people who criticize the music, especially that piano part that starts playing when you're mounted... But the tune really conveys the sense of curiosity and playfulness that the whole open-world Hyrule has to offer! And when the strings come in with the familiar Zelda theme... Oh boy.
+potato jedi I agree that OoT is overrated. I think there are many Zelda games that are better than it. But the soundtrack in OoT has lots of good songs.
NieR: Automata takes that title, however BotW is defintely a 10/10 game. It's one of the best games ever created and it is very close to NieR: Automata, which is amazing considering nothing else comes even close to NieR: Automata. By the way. Play NieR: Automata if you haven't. Watch an entire playthrough *(NOTE: Not just cutscenes, the entire gameplay of the game - Search for "thesw1tcher" for NieR: Gestalt. You're welcome)*. You and everyone else will thank me.
+ReachStudioPro Nope. The best game ever made is Xenoblade Chronicles imho. Never played NieR: Automata but Xenoblade is literally everything I've ever wanted in a game an more, so for me nothing can surpass it.
it'd probably only be a few screens, they used it for concept, so it's not a whole game- imagine playing the original only within 2 screens any direction of Level 1.
I'm nearly at 200 hours in the game and I'm still finding new stuff. This gams is truly great. In 30 years of gaming I never have experience something like this.
The entire game gave me that GUTTO KURU feeling. Every time I set out to do something specific and found myself distracted by something else was beautiful.
While the game is amazing, if Nintendo wants to keep improving the Zelda series, here is what I would do differently (could contain some minor spoilers) 1. Story Like many people already said, it lacks urgency and progression. After you beat the Plateau, you get already 90% of the story. The whole Plateau part, from both gameplay and story perspective was incredibly well done, so I was excited for the story just to be disappointed to find out there isn't much story left in the game. Nothing happens after you free the 4 Beasts either, and the ending is well... very underwhelming. The story could be easily improved by making the boss not accessible from the very start to allow for a middle game twist, where you are being sent to the past world. The past wasn't even used once here, you can collect optional memories, but these just tell the same story just in Zelda's perspective I think they don't add much outside of Zelda's character development, they are fine but they are not a replacement for a proper story line like older Zelda games. I don't really understand Nintendo here. They built a very interesting past-story but they don't allow you to travel to the past and experience these moments by yourself. You could made small segments where you can play in the past like how the beginning in Witcher 3 with Ciri was handled. After the Switch Event trailer I was so excited to see how Hyrule Castle Town was destroyed, so I was very disappointed that it was just a small little cutscene in the game instead of a playable event and there are more moments like that, honestly I think the trailer was misleading. To add a positive point: I really like how the story in the world is told here. Diaries and NPCs everywhere tell you about mysteries and the world itself, so that is great. 2. Dungeons The idea is great, having 4 giant moving beasts as a dungeon is a really neat idea, but the implementation of that idea was a bit lacking. They are too small, have not much combat in them and they look all the same. They are fine for what they are, but here in the game they are supposed to replace traditional dungeons, which not quite works here. I think nobody would complain about those if there were more dungeons in the overworld to explore. Speaking of which, the shrines are also a neat idea and many of the puzzles are great, but if you go exploring in the game, you are almost certain get either a shrine and a korok seed. Since the shrines are looking all the same, it gets a bit tiring. And for people suggesting to remove some of the shrines to free development resources to add traditional dungeons: That doesn't work. There is a interview where they said the shrines allowed them to mass produce the dungeons in the game so yeah that is what they feel like. There are many places in the game that easily could contain a dungeon, for example after you free Naydra that could open up to a ice dungeon inside the mountain, but instead you get another shrine. Amazing quest, meh reward. If shrines are in the next game, I hope they are more varied, for example a mini dungeon in a mansion with mystery and a small storyline around it. On a side note, has anyone found large caves yet? I think there are none in the game besides at Hyrule Castle. That's a bit of a shame, with a world this huge underground caves would be awesome 3. Bosses. Mainly the 4 Blights. Thunderblight is great, but the other 3 ones lack of mechanics, you can spam arrows in them and the will die. They also look the same. Final Boss is also too easy. Other than that, the game is basically perfection and you guys deserve every 10/10 you get for it.
dampflokfreund Honestly, I hope they go back to "OoT - ish" with these mechanics. The ability to travel between Future and Past I mean. Some dungeons that require that? It could even have it's own unique touch by having Link, say, swap souls so he passes out in one time whilst going to the other. I feel like this could strengthen the story
dampflokfreund Yeah but we have never gotten much character development from Zelda and Link together in past games, in Breath of the Wild it makes the moment you find out that Zelda's love for Link is why she was able to save the world, so much more special.
this original concept is only a few screens, why take away from developing a sequel to Link Between Worlds or Spirit Tracks in favor of expanding what was only a few screens to test concepts? You don't care about other Zelda games apparently, which is sad, you should try them out, sequels to those would drive sales.
They definitely knew what they were doing when they were creating this awesome Zelda game. And man, they really did a fantastic job at making this BREATHTAKING masterpiece of a Zelda game!
Things i wanna see make a come back in Zelda. Black smiths to make powerful/upgrade weapons. You only can get it from them and over time. Old mysterious witches that makes potions that only she can make and you'd have to buy it from her. Newer NPC 20 + and reuse older NPC for more side quest. More enemies that are exclusive to areas. Can be old or brand new enemies. Brand new deep story and new characters. More Key unique items. Real classic dungeons. The Hyrule Castle felt more like a dungeon that the "actual" dungeon in the game 😂. Make brand new ones mixed with remastered remixes of the classic ones. New areas to explore and secrets that may possibly blow your mind. Under water places (to be able to dive). New floating islands? Actually invisible stuff until you find it or bring back old classic items such as the eye of truth as a key items. The best side quest is the Tarrey town one....we need more of side quest like this❤ Bring back the magic bar please :( for the Key items. I'd love to have some Pegasus boots or something that runs on magic 😂 More bosses and Sub bosses. More weapons fighting styles (idk how but just do it xD) gauntlets??? This is what i'd love to see for botw or the next one
I truly admire all those who worked on Breath of the Wild. It is such a beautiful game and gives the sensation of really exploring and discovering. Breath of the Wild is a game that makes an adventure's dream come true!
This is the first I've seen Fujibayashi, I'm glad hes so young, may he live a long life creating many more masterpieces like this :) (Just please keep the art style the same, I've literally never seen anything so beautiful with my eyes, not even in film)
To me the game still was lacking on what made zelda games great, the challenging dungeons with their own unique boss along with its own unique memorable music to it. If they could take what they did with breath of the wild and include the stuff that was missing and maybe take the story +10 years or what ever after BoTW were now there is a problem in Lorule....then it be another great game.
Takuhiro Dohta looks like he single-handedly peered into the Infinite Void of Silence, Consumer of Dreams, in a selfless attempt to save humanity from its endless hunger. His efforts were futile, but I commend his bravery.
I have 210+ hours in this game and haven't used a single guide, more fun that way tbh! This game is magical and being able to explore Hyrule whenever wherever is so awesome! The games story after I figured out it's somewhat of a love story made me feel warm hearted. ❤️
Its completely unbelievable, the game is actually is a true masterpiece and i hope there are more games that reach up to this level of awesomeness to come on the switch! Its truely a work of art!
Hidemaro Fujibayashi,Takuhiro Dohta,Takuhiro Dohta its not link but you who are the heroes because i love this game so much. Keep making the legend of zelda. And also when there is a type error in this reaction am aa 14 year old dutch speaking fan who loves the legend of zelda.
is it just me, or are the Nintendo staff interacting a lot more with their fans these days? :D all the small videos we got from Aonuma up until BotW's release, and now this (including other videos on the development of BotW). This is going in a very good direction!
Kidtronic I know where Pumpkinpie, Kevin, Rhino, Ean and Trail. I haven't seen the others lately. Do you have twitter? ( that's where I see all of these)
Game of the year? More like best game ever! This is the best of the best, I really like how they manage to blend all the scenery from the plateau to the rest of the field, simply beautiful I love Nintendo
Boulbi Boulga you can cook food with fire in every sense. I believe you have to be at one of those cooking pots to actually cook ingredients for robust foods, but if you throw a piece of meat or fruit or whatever into a fire of any kind, it will end up roasted.
I just... love this game! I have to see the trailer everyday... I can't live without see it! It's just so...fun! Really I love this game, I just can't describe this masterpiece of a game❤️️❤️
How is it possible that im already getting nostalgic for this game. I literally beat it by getting everything up to 442 korok seeds last week and I already miss it. 😐 #BestGame
They must be very proud of this game. I am very happy that I've got the privilege to play this masterpiece of a game. Thank You Nintendo.
i cant be the only one who wants to play that 2d zelda botw prototype
Cyan CBZ same
I would pay good Canadian monopoly money for this.
Cyan CBZ i would love it!!!
Cyan CBZ i too
Cyan CBZ I want to play it too! Sorry I'm German I'm not so good
Nintendo is taking the longest victory lap in gaming history.
(It's well deserved to be honest)
yeah, but they're a GAME MAKER!! You can post all you want about how great you made something, but if you're going to sell games which is the whole point to making systems, you can't harp on it too long, you need to get back to what makes money- MAKING GAMES!!!
Who says they're not doing both at the same time?
This is proof that Nintendo is still the purest console and game producers on the market. They did so much new and created one of, if not the best game we've had in a long while.
Oh my god I NEED that Prototype!
Kian Kermani So you can sell it to Pawn Stars 😂
Lmao I love that show
+H They'll definitely take that.
For $25
How old are you
Why? What you saw is probably most of what it is. It'd just be test areas for mechanics.
Remember back when people were being critical of Windwaker's art style. Personally I though it was great then they went back to the realistic feel. Now they met in between. Love it.
this game can't be game of the year because monopoly for switch will be game of the year
you forgot about 1-2 switch
how about vroom in the night sky
what about superman 64
The Legend of Zelda was, is and will be the best thing in my life #proudtobeahylian
Azure Link Agreed!
+Azure Link Lol guess your marrying the switch then xD
144Heartx I just broke up with WiiU..I need some time to marry...probably and hopefully Holidays
+Azure Link Well I hope you recover from that relationship. Don't worry, it's over now. Things can only get better from here ;)
144Heartx I really hope so ;D
There's a lot of people who criticize the music, especially that piano part that starts playing when you're mounted... But the tune really conveys the sense of curiosity and playfulness that the whole open-world Hyrule has to offer! And when the strings come in with the familiar Zelda theme... Oh boy.
I feel like I'm the only one who thinks it's one of the best Zelda OSTs ever. It's tied with Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time.
BlockSquad1000 ocarina is overrated
it's also a remix of the original tune, which is only night though
+potato jedi I agree that OoT is overrated. I think there are many Zelda games that are better than it. But the soundtrack in OoT has lots of good songs.
BlockSquad1000 When did you play Oot?
The best game ever.
NieR: Automata takes that title, however BotW is defintely a 10/10 game. It's one of the best games ever created and it is very close to NieR: Automata, which is amazing considering nothing else comes even close to NieR: Automata. By the way. You should watch Vinesauce Limealicious' streams of it.
ReachStudioPro Stop Spamming!
+ReachStudioPro Nope. The best game ever made is Xenoblade Chronicles imho. Never played NieR: Automata but Xenoblade is literally everything I've ever wanted in a game an more, so for me nothing can surpass it.
Joel Baulida Ayerbe
I don't see where it is "flawed"
I've played for 105+ Hours and I don't see any real "flaws."
Am I the only one who still wants the Zelda nes build to be playable?
Mystic Melody yes itd be cool for a minigame or something
Cloud Gaming and Dubstep I hope they add it in the season pass or something cause I'd love to play it
Mystic Melody nintendo said they were making a new zelda game in the style of botw but they didnt say which one
Mystic Melody uh it's called zelda 1. released in 1985
You are mistaken.
I'd love to play that NES-styled Beta of BotW. That'd be a great unlockable!
it'd probably only be a few screens, they used it for concept, so it's not a whole game- imagine playing the original only within 2 screens any direction of Level 1.
I love Nitendo
Vincent Chmirski i💗ps4😊
SUBARU WORLD RALLY TEAM I love both of them
+SUBARU WORLD RALLY TEAM
nobody cares take ur trash somewhere else
I love plystaton
I prefer Nintendo.
yo, Nintendo, make more Zelda, gud game, quality gameplay, i like
Naiko wait for DLC
These guys are geniuses. Incredible game, can't wait for the extra content as well. I recommend watching the full panel.
That background music is so comforting, especially when playing the game
Thank you for the greatest Zelda I've played in literally decades!
Absolutely beautiful game. What a top notch crew of game designers and developers. World class talent!
probably one of the best games in the series

I agree with you damp ;)
dampflokfreund the lack of urgency is what makes it great
I hope nintendo realizes that people would pay to be able to download that prototype from the eShop if it was made into a full fledged game.
this original concept is only a few screens, why take away from developing a sequel to Link Between Worlds or Spirit Tracks in favor of expanding what was only a few screens to test concepts? now a 3d Animal crossing with those graphics please.
Tanooki Zac um animal crossing has always been 3d
@TanookiZac think you means "HD" xD
I believe he actually means "With the camera behind the player".
Boy, so many interpretations for a single comment.
Micky I mean a 3d village like Kakariko in Botw in 3rd person point of view, like Botw again. With Botw graphics. That would be beyond epic
Are you talking about the cell shaded style? That would actually be pretty cool.
Best Game Ever!
Love it
You should play it one day
Yes it is
SupaPixelGirl I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE
*YOU AGAIN*
Incredible effort=incredible game. A masterpiece.

Greatest of all time. That music makes me so happy.
I can't wait for the story DLC and the next Zelda game. I am very excited to see where the story is going.
Takuhiro Dohta looks like he single-handedly peered into the Infinite Void of Silence, Consumer of Dreams, in a selfless attempt to save humanity from its endless hunger.
His efforts were futile, but I commend his bravery.
Breath Of The Wild is the very first Zelda game I have ever played.
Averyy Same
I love looking at the concept art
Oh man. Now I really want that 2d version of BOTW for my 3ds.

Nope, it's just an enhanced prototype to test the physics and implement it in 3D.
And now we’re here. 10 days before the release of totk! I’m so hyped 🎉🎉
Thank you for creating such an amazing game for all of us
Please release that Beta of Breath of the Wild, Nintendo. I would love a new NES Zelda!
I miss the music of koji kondo
I have 210+ hours in this game and haven't used a single guide, more fun that way tbh! This game is magical and being able to explore Hyrule whenever wherever is so awesome! The games story after I figured out it's somewhat of a love story made me feel warm hearted. ❤️
Nintendo needs to publish that prototype. I would definitely buy it.
Its completely unbelievable, the game is actually is a true masterpiece and i hope there are more games that reach up to this level of awesomeness to come on the switch! Its truely a work of art!
Just got off playing another session of this game. And the more I play it, the more I see why this game is a 10/10 masterpiece.
I still don't have that game, and I'm missing out so much. I really want to cry.

i absolutely love Mr Takuhiro's blasé countenance.
'Breaking Conventions'...
And also your weapons.
"Gutto Kuru" What a beautiful phrase.
Some of those designs of link were actually pretty nice. I wish we had some of those outfits in the actual game.
is it just me, or are the Nintendo staff interacting a lot more with their fans these days? :D all the small videos we got from Aonuma up until BotW's release, and now this (including other videos on the development of BotW). This is going in a very good direction!
It was huh, I hope we see something similar after botw 2's release
"Gutto Kuru" DAMN RIGHT
That thing they were using as a testing grounds for BOTW, that should totally be it's own game: The Legend of Zelda: Adventure Maker

Boulbi Boulga you can cook food with fire in every sense. I believe you have to be at one of those cooking pots to actually cook ingredients for robust foods, but if you throw a piece of meat or fruit or whatever into a fire of any kind, it will end up roasted.

I don't know why, but that middle guy really reminds me of the masked salesman in MM.
I'll bet the 'remake' of the first one will get a release
i cant wait for the goddamn dlc
I love the new Champion Tunic. I feel like I'm in the almost non-existent minority that likes that there's something different for once.

I defeated Ganon this past weekend, hopefully going to replay BotW with Wolf Link beside me.
