Great video again- I am going on that trip end of April. Beautiful photographs and great help for someone going for the first time. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Hi Dan. Been a while since I have had the chance to catch up with you , but my god what a time to catch up. Sea eagles, golden eagles and owls all in one vlog, it couldn't get any better . Even the weather playing ball for you. Great soundtrack with the feeling I have heard it somewhere before? Nice to see and hear pops with you also, say hi to him. Always my fav part, seeing you both together. Thanks Dan and Pops, that was more than worth catching up with!
Fantastic film clip and education. Great family time for you and your father. Magnificent photographs of the White tailed sea eagles fishing. The eagle with the dark colours looked like a juvenile white tailed sea eagle to me. Great work and film. 👍
Hi Dan...we got back from a week on Mull a week ago...totally blew us away...mull charters was the highlight..7 passes from 4 different birds...got some great pics with my z6ii and z100-400mm...also did the trip to Lunga for the puffins and other sea birds...only thing we didn't get was otters on land or golden Eagle...Guess we'll have to go back
Thanks for your comment Paul. I can honestly say that we have been to Mull many times and have had different experiences every time we go, so definitely worth going back for 👍🏻
Great video ,your dad is a interesting man , nice shots of the wse , we have them here in Ireland now and they are doing well , they certainly are a sight to behold.
Many thanks for this. I was in that area in early march staying with friends for a few days. They arranged a trip to Mull for us but sadly the weather was against us and the ferry was cancelled. Still got this to look forward to sometime in the future.
Am a photographic virgin and don’t understand the technicalities but, my god, what wonderful results. Have seen my share of sea eagles on Skye but never like this ! By the way, Dan, wonderful atmospheric music works so well with your videos.
Very enjoyable vlog fellas! Always love a Mull Charters adventure!! We wen't out on the Friday (Day before yours?) Had 5 visits from 2 eagles, what a spectacular day....Did you have any joy with the Otters? We had very few sightings this year during our weeks stay.
Thanks for your feedback, I’ve watched many of your videos. We did get some Otter action which is coming in part 2 but like you say no where near as many sightings as I have got in the past.
Thanks for the video, loved it and some great shots of the eagles. Can I ask which trip you went on with Mull Charters ... was it the Sea Eagle Adventure Trip or the Photo 6?
Thanks very much Pete and a very good question. I’ve done both trips and it really depends on what you are after. The adventure trip is great and you get some great views but there are twice as many people on the boat which can make photography tricky but not impossible. The photo trip is more expensive but half the clients on the boat. Martin or Alex will get you lined up on one side of the boat and position you to get the best possible photos of the eagles catching fish of the water, it’s incredible and well worth the extra money 👍🏻
@@danwillis_photography Thanks Dan, that’s very helpful. I’m hoping to go toMull later this year & would love to see/photo the eagles. Sounds like the Photo 6 is probably my best option. Thanks again
Goldies are a challenge that’s for sure but you can definitely increase your chances by looking in the following areas: The road from Salen to Dervaig as you pass the cliffs on your right. The road from Loch Don to Loch Beg as you pass through the mountains with high cliffs on your right 👍🏻
Absolutely amazing Dan, can’t wait until September. Noticed you were at 300 mm for the sea Eagles do you think the 500 pf is to much focal length I’ll still be on my d500?
Thanks for your feedback Laurence greatly appreciated. The first time I went on Mull charters I took my 500mm prime, got some great images but they were all far to close with clipped wings etc so had to go creative with close ups detail shots. I was using 70-200 this time with a teleconverter and in all honesty I could have done with the extra reach 🤷🏻♂️ Zooms give you freedom so if the Eagle comes in close or far you can reach. Not a decisive answer I’m sorry 👍🏻
Hi Michael, I use 2 lenses primarily. My go to lens is my 500mm f4 prime lens (f mount). Most of the shots of the Eagles are with my z mount 70-200 2.8 👍🏻
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. One minor problem: I was wearing earphones during your video. The music's sound level was much louder than the sound level of your voice. I had to turn the sound up to hear you talk and then when the video switched to music, I had to quickly turn it down to prevent hearing damage. Up and down all through the video. Would you balance the level of your voice and music in your future videos, please. Thank you.
Thanks for your feedback Darrell, getting the sound right is something I’m working hard on as it frustrates me too when watching RUclips. I appreciate your response and will aim to improve this on future videos 👍🏻
Thanks for all the videos loved all of them so far.
I love that you go out with your dad making memories and enjoying photography.
Thanks very much Mike, I appreciate it. Getting out with my Dad and sharing our adventures is a great privilege 👍🏻
Wow! Mull doesn't disappoint!
It’s just the most magical island mate, I plan to live there one day 🤞🏻
@@danwillis_photography Maybe you could host a photography workshop from there...
@@joncothranphotography9375 that’s the plan 👍🏻
@@danwillis_photography Maybe I can make it over there to experience that one day... That would be tremendous!
Indeed beautiful experience and great shot Mr. Willis !!
Thanks for sharing !!😊

Hi Dan, great video thank you. I'm booked on Mull charters in September so cant wait!
You will have an amazing time, please pass on my regards to Alex 👍🏻

Thanks for commenting Brian I appreciate it. Keep that visit in mind as I promise Mull is worth the wait 👍🏻
That Golden Eagle looks like a juvenile White-tailed Eagle.
I’m no expert and so would take your observation. My only thought on this is the fact it was in the mountains away from the coast.
Agree, it is a Juv White-tailed Eagle. Can be tricky but tail shape is a give away.
@@Derbyshire_bird_tours thanks Stewart for confirming for me 👍🏻
@@danwillis_photography the beak size is also a bit of a giveaway . But I love that photo!

@@michaell5038 most definitely, it’s a super sharp lens that is hard to match with other cheaper lenses. The only downside is the weight 👍🏻
Some great images, but had to mute sound as the screeching was far to much.
Apologies that the sound affected your viewing, it's been a learning curve and this was one of my earlier videos.
