- The Waterfront Hotel and Casino has 2 locations in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. This location is in Lahug with the 2nd Waterfront next to the Mactan Cebu International Airport on Mactan Island. We had a buffet on Philippines Independence Day, June 12. 3 for 1 special and the chef will give you a tour of the of the selections. They also have a special buffet for father's Day and other occasions. A Chinese restaurant and Italian restaurant are also open daily at the Lahug, Cebu City Waterfront Hotel.

When in Cebu, Waterfront is where I always stay. Great staff and location with free shuttle bus to Ayala. US consulate located on the bottom floor and a great pool.

I have been in Cebu the past 22 years. Will retire to Cebu in June 2022. I always saw the Waterfront Hotel but never been there. Always heard great things about it. After seeing this video I'm going to make a point to stay there when we arrive next summer.
Visited that Hotel twice very late early July August this year. Was a good experience on my end, enjoyed it. If I had to give one piece of constructive feed back for the Hotel, would be carpets! just like a basement in a house in the Philippines, not a common thing. The Hotel was trying very hard to be 5 star by western standards. The carpets were very lacking in some areas. That would need to be addressed. Over all enjoyed that place a lot. Thanks for the video and reminder of my trip.

That's the first hotel that I stayed in when visiting the Philippines. There is/was a fish restaurant on the corner of the building at the bottom of the driveway and the fish was amazing. Thanks for the memory as Bob Hope said!

The wife and i stayed at the waterfront the one nextdoor to the US Embassy...she didn't like it ...i did...i spoiled her at the Bai...that was your fault Rod...lol

In january and february of 2020 I had a room booked at this hotel with the breakfast included and I can promise you guys, this is the very best breakfast you can ever have. I usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels and the food in this one is simply, amazing. The rooms are old fashioned though, in particular its bathrooms.
Rod, wishing you a great Philippine Independence Day for 12 June and also weekend too. The Philippines and American connection is so great. Just like many holidays like upcoming Fathers Day weekend. Plus knowing the Philippines and most likely that hotel. They will accommodate us Americans on 4th of July for America's Independence Day too. Give great thanks to the Chief Chef too. Once again Rod, you really make me happy that my far distance plans are to retire in the Philippines. These sites are so precious. Thank you sincerely. I read recently that the Pinatubo area was having some earthquakes perhaps waking up a bit again. Not a good area to develop in I think.

Hi Rod. I haven't been to any buffet or sit down restaurants since the pandemic. My husband and I are just too afraid to go to any crowded places. Our friends told us casino buffet restaurant are open but the assigned water brings the food to your table. Happy father's day Rod.
that place is so amazing the food there looks great it really makes me want to go back to Cebu Province life is so hard it's almost like there is nothign beyond where I live maybe I really should consier going back to Cebu soon I miss the cities and the malls there despite the pandemic going on it's not that hard to travel to and back from Cebu now and I'd really like to see my cousins there as well

Waterfront is a very nice hotel that I can recommend. They have a good buffet and a good service. We stayed there many times. Last week we stayed there for a vacation.😊

Rod about the only thing was missing was some mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese I found it interesting and I was thinking well there wasn't a lot for me and then all the sudden boom. You came up with the Italian food. I think everybody could find something there to eat and it look delicious all of it. What was the cost for the buffet
If you stay at the waterfront breakfast is oftentimes included. I like the egg station for breakfast they cook eggs the way you like it and they also have omelets. Cafe Uno is the breakfast buffet place. They also serve ala carte if you don’t prefer the buffet just tell the waitress/waiter and they will give you a menu. They are also open for lunch and dinner. Don’t know if the schedule is the same during the pandemic. This is a hotel casino. The casino is located in the mezzanine.

To be honest the Philippines is a great place
The only problem I always have when in the Philippines
I always get sick when I eat the food
A problem I don't have in other South Asian countries
I wonder how that is possible
Maybe because the food in the Philippines is pre cooked
Like in Thailand they cook the food when you order
Interesting. I have had very little issues with food here but I am careful where I eat also.
On my 1st visit here i got sick once.. after that all good. But, be careful what u order...especially seafood! 😁

I eat at really cheap places in Malaysia in Singapore and in Thailand
No problem at all
And the food was delicious too
So now when I visit the Philippines I only eat at Man Inasal and home cooked meals

Great video as usual Rod. Amazing buffet, I haven't been to a buffet in about 3 years, I must check it out. Did you say the buffet was only during special occasions during C-19? This was within the Waterfront hotel, right?
It is inside of the Waterfront, Cebu City Spuds. Buffet is only special occasions now.

@@64Dasani it's $21 per person. X3 are $63 + tips for 4. I think. Still a bargain as I just come back from Japanese buffet for $30 a head at Vacaville California 20 mins nearby my house.

Interesting. I have been reading about the "healthier" milks and cheeses from several European cows as their milk an "unhealthy" element that most "American" cows do. Dr. Gundry is my source on this.

unfortunately for me I choose this hotel to quarantine in. the staff is not to blame i am sure it is the management, they have refused to accommodate my needs declaring that i must order off the menu. no fruits, no leafy greens. they think foreigners eat fried everything , i asked for filipino food but they arbitrarily forced western foods. i raised hell about that. they limit me to three bottles of water a day. i had to beg for fruits which they charge 700 pesos for 1 mango, 1 apples, 2 tangerines and small bunch of grapes. additional bottles of water are 20 pesos so i am paying 480 pesos for 1 case of water. the aircon stuck on full blast , i will be acclimated for Alaska when they spring me. over all the hotel is dated and ready for the wrecking ball. the windows don't open, no fresh air. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE!

How come the quality and prices
in Thailand are way much better than in the Philippines

I pay twice as much in the Philippines and get half of what I get in Thailand
Stay in Thailand then. Don’t come to the Philippines. Been to Thailand 3 times.
Go to Thailand if you prefer their foods and ambience.. don’t complain
