    As an independent glass repair and headlight restoration tech, this looks like a profitable add on service. I fix a lot of chips, and my first one I did after my certification was a Tesla with a windshield replacement cost of $2400.00, kinda sweated that first job but the Glasweld equipment I employed helped me ace the repair. I'd like to look into the Clear Plex, seems to have merit..

    • @detailersgarage
      @detailersgarage  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for watching and your comments. Thats great stuff. How long did it take you to become proficient in the repairs? I looked into that as well, the tech behind it seems great. Just never went to the training. This is definitely a great option and worth the cost of protection. Yes Tesla after the repair of the glass is something like over $1500 to reprogram it. That's nuts.

      @@detailersgarage Glasweld's certification course took me 5 days and aced the exam, I started repairing glass and took clients for a good 6 months putting myself and skills "out there" sweating every job but relied on my training and even modified a few things to fit each situation (which is different each time). The cert course is worth it but work in the field is better 4 sure. I still get challenged on some repairs and some fill but don't have the "disappear" effect I always strive for, but I am half the price of Safelite and save folks a lot of money.

    @3:40 random dude rudely walks in the demo knowing full well the presentation is being recorded 🤦
    That aside as I like that they now have it with an IR tint in the film. My only concern is that it win interfere with some of the light sensors on cars that house those in the same location as the ADAS camera(s) location. An internal windshield tint would’ve been cut around that ADAS plastic housing against the windshield.

  • @claudiodueviti

    This is the best product. I hae been using on tracks on different cars and it literally saved my windshield many times. One question though... can be "nano coated" by a nano ceramic coating as they are used to glass?

    • @detailersgarage
      @detailersgarage  Год назад +1

      Thank you for watching and your question. I do not think you can do a glass coating prior to installing the film. I dont think a glass coating on top of the film would work either since it's designed to bond to glass not plastic. With that said a coating like HALO from Gtechniq might work since the windshield wrap is similar to ppf. But I don't think you will need to do that. If you install I would check with Madico before installing anything over the film.
      Thank you

    Does this cause any visibility issues on vehicles with a ‘Heads Up’ windshield display?

    • @detailersgarage
      @detailersgarage  Год назад +1

      Great question! From what I was told it does not interfere with the heads up display. They also have a tinted film and I wonder if that would cause any issues. I am going to get a few sheets or a roll and mess around with it and I will ask more about this. Thank you.

    Don't waste your money on this! Had a terrible experience. There was a visible haze and blurry effect at night from headlights and other light sources. For over 1 month the installers went back and forth with Madico and they were claiming it was residual moisture! Absolute B.S. Madico asked for all kind of proof , pictures , videos etc . In the end i got it removed and i had Exoshield installed. Zero issues with haze even on the first night out despite it still having visible distortions from the moisture. 4 days later everything is gone. Never again a product by Madico!
