When you looked at my trainer card and said it was cool I was like omg that's weird that is the outfit I used to wear and then I noticed it was actually me! I'm in masters now as an eldegoss main, this was back when I first started playing pokemon unite. So cool knowing that I've played against you in the past! haha

I watch these videos for two reasons and two reasons alone:
1. To hear you sing your songs, and
2. To make sure you don’t think my trainer card is boring if you had a random match against me

It's good to see that team dynamics like this happens to everyone.. cause this is the type of game that will have me put this game down for a few days 😩
I flew from Ultra 1 to Ultra 4 with a crazy win streak. I was one win away from hitting Ultra 5, then I lost three games in a row in a similar way, where the opposing team was just demolishing us at our goal. So frustrating.

There is something comforting about Jake going through the same road blocks as I do at this stage
Hard to imagine anyone getting bothered with your occasional sing-songiness. Out of all the random personality quirks that a person could have, that's probably among the coolest and least offensive.
Considering other personality traits people could have (and frequently do these days) instead, I 100% agree.
Maybe you should try Talonflame since you got the Pilot Holowear
Or play some hard carries/people you’re good with, it is unfortunate when your team isn’t able to secure objectives
Instead of a bagillion comments I'll put the rest in one.
-Keep singing man, it's not just entertaining but it's you and it wouldn't be the same without song.
-When it comes to the camera position, the only problem I see is you can't see which lane or character the bottom person chooses. Other than that no complaints
-Your Dr. Seuss rant had me roaring! XD It reminds me of the rants Rick Mercer used to do on the Rick Mercer report. If you don't know him but he's a Canadian icon, you should look his rants up
-Great vid as always, sorry you had some pretty hard losses. But at least you had that one Ninetails match with the decent Machamp partner. Keep it up man!

You mention not doing quick battles but id recommend to do your quick battle every day. Its not much but you get 50 tickets which you can use to get 5 item enhancers. Do it every day and there's a bonus 35 enhancers a week so it is definitely worth doing on a free to play account

Regarding blaze kick, for some reason if you time a blaze kick at the right moment you can cancel some pokemons unite move activation, I cant count the number of times where I attempt to use cram's unite only for a blaze kick from a cinderace to completely halt it and reduce my ult charge down to 0
BIG OOF. That sucks considering Pyro Ball will probably be the move of choice now. Idk though. We will see. I wanna play a totally long distance ADC jungler if the meta will allow for it, and the PB buff makes it sound possible 👏🏻
Just so you know, most of the time when you look at the trainer cards the character pose doesn’t load. So it looks like they are standing there for no reason when they should be doing the peace sign or something.
Love the videos! Just finished my grind to masters solo in 3 weeks. Your videos as well as a few others helped immensely. Pushed up to low-Ultra filling but maining Wigglytuff/Slowbro. Hit pretty much my only wall there and turned to the dark side that is Blastoise. Thanks for all of the content man
1:18:38 Slowbro actually didn’t successfully score, it still had 26 after the bar filled and they jumped up. You’d have won if it had started scoring half a second earlier.
(Or if you had gotten there earlier, since scores go faster with teammates in the goal)
Are you sure it's also when teammates are in the goal, and not just when another teammate is scoring?
I'd check the tutorial again if I was at the game right now.

@@awesomeperson5150 only problem about this is that they need to be ON the goal BEFORE you start scoring. It doesn’t increase speed halfway thru

This is definitely happening more frequently in ELITE than in the lower ranks. I haven't made it past Elite for a week. Where there's a losing streak due to the team not doing what MOBAs need them to do, team having players that are try hards and subbornly go for goals even though they're gonna die.
The thing about try harding is you actually gotta try hard and not just give up KOs like that. It happens a lot in Great too, I’ve been hardstuck there. Course I don’t get to play as much as I’d like but yeah.

When I play I make many tactical mistakes, pushing to hard, etc. It is comforting to see that good players sometimes make mistakes also
Pushing/overextending is a big mistake that I try to always avoid and tell my teammates to retreat when they do it. Especially if you’re ahead, even if their opposing carry gets 1-2 kills it can make a big difference and they can catch up fast
Crustle hides friendly sprites when overlapping. Saw a duo using crustle to sneak zeraora into fights/goalposts
Whoa! Nice. I can usually tell when there’s two on top of each other but that’s a good tactic especially if you haven’t increased the size of your minimap
Maybe try talonflame: first of all you got that fancy holowear and second with fly your able to steal every objective easily

Climbing out of expert in Solo queue is tough. I floated forever in between expert 3 and 4. Barely making it to 5.
Most matches are like your game as Machamp. A lot of my teammates don't rotate objectives or for whatever reason they think they can push hard when the smarter play is to move back and stay safe

I rose through the ranks once I started insta-locking venusaur (I used to fill all the time) since I can usually reliably steal major objectives with it. Once the objective fights, especially zap, were more in my control, I stopped losing as much
Interesting. I might try Vena once the new patch goes up. Maybe Giga Drain/Solar Beam since Giga is gonna give more health now
Pilot Talon POG. Now Talon has the hidden 5% additional damage when Talon is wearing the pilot gear. Congrats!
I remember doing what the lucario did XD. Me and my brother were teamed up with randoms and the score on both side were even. I managed to make it to the base and score right before the timer end, giving us a 89 oints lead, despite the opposing team getting Zapdos and managed to win it for us lol.
How to carry:
- Purely play hardcarry Pokémon like Cinderace/Greninja
- Only lock Top/Jungle since then you have atleast +1 rotating to Dreadnaw
- Don't use your unite move in the last 3minutes unless you contest Zapdos
I’d also add that 90% of the time, unless you’re in a coordinated team with friends or something, at Zapdos just take out as many as you can and then do Zap. The average SoloQ team is either going to fight him anyway or do a terrible job defending (seen in Jake’s last match of this vid)
Just give yourself the best odds of getting it and then roll the dice. Better than trying a half ass defend imo
Idk if you recall, but AOC actually played Among Us a couple times with Disguised Toast, Jacksepticeye, Valkyrae, and a few others. Lmao. It was a fun time! Politics weren’t mentioned at all from what I recall. 😸

I just played against you on your main account!!! I have been grinding for a while now trying to get into masters, then I finally get put into a masters match and I’m playing against my favorite RUclips!
1:05:00 the sad part is that your team was ahead and then all together decide to score instead of defending...that happens to me quite often

Yes!!! Expert is trash!! It's like they put you with literally the worst people when you are about to rank up!
I don't know how much time I've spent in Veteran Class 1-3. I had a streak of losses and stopped playing ranked altogether until the Season ends so I can get the Veteran rewards instead of dropping rank and getting Expert rewards.

I feel like since you lose quite a few games to 30+ second respawn timers during a zap team fight it might be worth experimenting with purposely getting kod around 3 mins so you might be able to get back in a fight (only at the low levels obv, giving up the exp seems terrible at higher ranks)
The moment you got that border and didn't realise I burst out laughing, I've been unlucky enough to have it twice - still waiting on the berry lax. (I know I could get it with the 88 holowear tickets it gave, but that's admitting defeat)

Jake, I run score shield on Venusaur. Muscle Band is good, but you need Score Shield for the last 2 minutes.

Blastoise is a good pick for these games. Your team almost always needs bulk and you can 1v5 and steal zap.
He really likes to hold on to those unite moves

I had a ranked match where I was Cinder. I tried every single opportunity to score and was stopped. Had a 50 banger and finally had time to score. My teammates rushed in to score like 10 points if that, and broke the goal. It happened TWICE. I didn't get to score at all that entire game, we lost by one damn point and then someone fake reported me for idiling. I've never been so tilted at a game in my entire life.
If this makes you feel any better- you only get repercussions (fair play points reduced) if someone reports you and the game detects that you actually did idle for I think 15 seconds or more for a small slap on the wrist of -5 points and 30 seconds or more gets you -10 points. Also. If you actually got fair play points reduced, that means that more than one player reported you because the first one usually doesn’t do anything, even if it’s malicious. You’ll see if you ever report someone and you’re the 2nd one to do it, the game will ask you “Are you sure you’d like to report this player? -10 Fair Play Points will be reduced” or something very similar to that.
On a more supportive note, I feel you. We all need to be more aware of other players’ point totals if we’re all going to score at the same time. Yes, you get heals and EXP from scoring, but it’s not worth screwing your jungler or carry over. They need the EXP more anyway lol
BTW. Fair Play Points are what determine whether you are eligible to play ranked and standard matches or not. You start out with 100. I believe 80 or less means no ranked and 60 or less means no ranked and no standard.
@@wolfiemuse funny thing is, I've never been idle. I'm always trying to help my team. This bullshit reporting because people are immature is so toxic. How can people get better if people are fake reporting, and there are new players that play terribly. Block the person if they are that bad for fucks sake, but I see RUclipsrs and streamers do it all the time. They are teaching viewers that's what people should do if you get pressed about how they played. I thankfully haven't gotten reported since then, but it's some real shit to be affected by such a bad report system from the game when people spend money on this game. Rant over lol
Should you figure out why you are the way your are or should you just embrace the way you are?
Well, one thing I can say for sure is that other people will insist you do the former and let them do the latter. Every single time regardless of what that means for you or for them.

The challenge of your marathon is more to finish master before the season ends in 10 days. I am really curious to see how you perform in these ranks. As for me I am stuck in vet while I play correctly, following the guides I have seen here and there (as a Greninja jungle). My team get beatten so often... So frustrating. Something is really wrong in the matchmaking, the rankings, the come back mechanics ... and Zapdos. Zap is broken, period. But the devs wont change anything because they want their game to stay a casual one to attract and retain the mainstream audience. Because Pokemon is "only" a mainstream/childish brand for them. But it's not true. Bummer.

@@hayleyhays5999 Excatly... at this point it's a matter of luck, no matter what the youtubers (who managed to be masters at launch) are saying. Because since the launch of the game, things have changed. And the ranked mode is a circus now. And I am not sure that spending 3 to 4 hours per day would be enough. You should buy a lucky charm instead... Anyway, that's why I really like this marathon. If spraggels can do it (again) (in solo), then I will shut my mouth and train and try harder.

I got to master rank from expert by using mostly machamp. He is really good with my playstyle. Very versatile which is fair since he is an all rounder

The best thing about this series is knowing that no matter how good you are, you will lose just because stupid reasons (mainly Zaptos). Just not a fun game to try hard in solo queue.
Not having a scoreboard during game is good so people don't give up early but that ending is why we really need it lol

I went from veteran class 3 to bottom of class 1 then back to veteran class 3 in 1 day. I seem to go on losing or winning streaks.

If you ever feel bad about your rank games let me tell you the worst one I had today
Had a charmander and squirtle called top
Immidiately at beginning of the game they ran into the jungle and stole all my wild pokemons
Then they ignored all the farm on their top lane and kept diving into the opponent's base to feed the enemy's team
End of the game both of them were lv 7 🙃
After that crushing defeat I sat in silence for 5 minutes and contemplated about why I am still playing this game
