Racers win rain shortened races all the time. He made his way up front some of the best didn't make it to the end. The win was well earned good job bubba
It's something most people should consider. Most rain-shortened winners (especially first-time winners) usually win because they took advantage of staying out during pit-stops when weather got bad (Reutimann, Logano, Buescher, Haley). But not this time.
You can't win if you are not in front. He got to the front... Call it luck... Call it skill... It's all part of racing. And there's no asterisk for a lucky win either...

Agreed. Winning in NASCAR is hard enough as it is; lots of very skilled drivers never broke though, many of whom were legends in short track and road course racing. However which way you get it, you've earned it. Congrats to Bubba.

Absolutely. Lights at Dega would be awsome. That would have definately changed the outcome of this race for sure. I am disappointed that the race ended the way it did for fear of not being able to run later in the evening.

Talladega doesn't get used enough to warrant getting lights. They don't get the return investment on it, plus they would have to put lights in the parking lot, the infield. Daytona gets used way more
Now that Bubba has won, I feel his biggest downfall could become his biggest advantage. He is a VERY emotional driver and will admit he has doubted himself many times. Now that he knows it can be done I think it will reflect in his performance and hopefully lead to stronger finishes.

All it takes is one to believe...at one point Martin Truex JR was a bottom tier driver. Then got with the right people and we see where he is now. People will hate I know that you know that he knows that (just listen to the boo birds). I believe Bubba has the burden lifted off and he can maybe show what he is made off now.

He still put himself in position to win and did so. Ultimately, we don’t know if he would’ve won if not for rain, it’s highly possible given that he was leading and had been fast for most the race.

Y'all saying he isn't really a winner, but he was the one to get up front and hold it before the rain came. The last 20 laps you can see him trying his hardest to get to the front.... He's a winner.
He's not the first guy to win his first race under a rain shortage. Justin Hayley comes to mind. Big fluke win but most people seemed thrilled. I'm not even a Bubba fan myself but just can't help but be happy for the guy. NASCAR didn't give him anything either. They definitely don't want rain shortened playoff races being a thing. First year with a new team, history for his culture, let him have his day in victory lane. Besides Michael Jordan is now a winning car owner in the NASCAR Cup Series!! This is great for the sport 👏🏼

Best case scenario the rain stopped right when they pull on pit road and the track dried instantly they still wouldn't have made it. It was 4:16pm with a 6:07 sunset the only way is if they could have magically dried the track in half the time it normally takes and you still be looking at 11 laps short

They wanted it to restart but you have to figure that Dega is 2.66 miles. It takes over 2 hours to dry the track with sundown just over 3 hours away. It wasn't going to happen.

when time safe to go on the track because of rain they don't and so NASCAR brought the cars down the road and it rained even harder and there's no time left for the finish of the race by time they would have gotten the truck dry.
