They were FOUR WIDE the entire G-W-C, you could feel the tension watching so many cars race so close, Waltrip was miraculously about to get his final NASCAR win...and they wreck. What a shame. Bestwick and MRN nailed these calls too.

      @wolfywise 10 лет назад +1

      We still get this kind of racing if you've paid any sort of attention, the Gen 6 cars just handle a little better, though one of these days, 35+ pile up because of this kind of racing. I know this because I ended up in this kind of racing with some of my NASCAR games, which realistically interpret how each driver races, I suffered a 40 car pile up as a result of this kind of racing on NASCAR '14...........Damn was that tense. I'd go into details of how the wreck occurred, but it would take too long.

  • @mofoprada
    @mofoprada 12 лет назад +1

    I found that to be very impressive. They went 4 wide, about 6 or 7 rows deep and they didn't wreck b/c of that. It was Stewart's blocking that caused the wreck. So that alone showed the driving skill of the 43 drivers.
    And yes, Jeff was way overdue to cash in on a Chase plate race. He had been running so good at the plate tracks for the last few years & he finally caught a big break. If Jeff rallies to win the title, he could look back at this race as the race that gave him his break.

    Here’s some Irony for you:
    Tony Stewart @ Talladega Spring 2012: “If we haven’t crashed 50% of the cars by the end of the race, we need to extend the race until we crash at least 50% of the cars cause its not fair to these fans who came to see wrecked race cars.”
    Tony Stewart @ Talladega Fall 2012: *Wipes out the entire field on the last lap.*

      ***** Not to mention the countless times ARCA has been cut short due to darkness. The have to race after the Sprint Cup qualifies, and then after their own qualifying session. The race is usually 94 laps, but they have been cut of with only 45 laps complete before.

    I do miss the aggressive racing from this time. Wish they put the big spoilers back on. As a fan and advent racer on NASCAR Racing 03, I love been able to see someone get runs and make moves through the field than just someone have the lead with 10 to go and no one can get the lead. I remember one time starting 33rd and getting up to the lead within 10 laps and having to block both lanes while leading.

  • @nascarbig1s

    True. but if you looks back at Las Vegas in 2011, it shows you don't need a restrictor plate with those cars to cause a huge wreck.

    Question - when a caution goes out the field freezes. So all the cars that kept going to cross the line and finish the race were doing it to keep their spot? So if you were in 5th when the caution went out, but you do not cross the line to end the race, you would not get 5th? And if you were 5th when caution came out and you cross the line, but were passed by 8 other cars before you crossed, you would still hold 5th?

    Another example of inconsistency because Matt Kenseth blatantly shoved Clint Bowyer below the double yellow line (forcing someone constitutes a black flag as does going below to gain a spot) yet he wasn't and won. Jeff Gordon should have gotten the win with Kenseth getting credited as the last car on the lead lap.

    • @mattkowal90

      That wasn't blatant, he moved up immediately and gave plenty of room yet Smith stayed down there while Kenseth just moved and kept him down there then moved up.

    • @lolimadethisvid
      @lolimadethisvid 8 лет назад

      it was a great move, and it gave him a chance to win the race. He had some backmarker car behind him on the restart and had no help at that point so it was either come down, or fall back to 5th or worse.

    Guys, Tony raced for the win here and messed up, then he manned up afterwards. Joey spun his tires at Auto Club and blocked Tony who had a full head of steam. Joey wouldn't man up afterwards, the closest he went to manning up was saying that he "May" have done something wrong, even after wrecking and sending Denny to the hospital. Don't hate on Tony. It's senseless.
