| Onnit Maces |
The design for the Quad Mace was inspired by a central figure in the visionary artwork of Alex Grey. The Quad God represents the unification of wisdom traditions of the four directions, which aligns well with the Onnit functional fitness philosophy that embraces training modalities from all over the world. Mace training, for example, was originally developed in ancient Persia as a way to condition athletes for competition and warriors for battle. Our experts at the Onnit Academy have built upon this foundation of movement to create a virtually limitless array of training available with this one method.
The Quad Mace is one of the most beautiful fitness implements you will ever find, combining the ash wood handle, hand-sculpted cast iron head, and a resplendent bronze locking cap. But even more beautiful than the aesthetic is the functionality. Our mace is perfectly balanced, and has been durability tested to withstand 100,000 swings without any sign of wear or stress. The additional handle length provides increased leverage for all mace training movements, and the wood handle is naturally slip resistant. The Quad Mace is truly the pinnacle of form meeting function.
The Onnit Steel Mace is one of the most effective ways to train and condition your whole body while mimicking real world movement.
Mace training dates back all the way to 13th century Persia, where the elite warriors and wrestlers of the day would train with the heavy Gada to condition their muscles for battle. The first Gada used in training were nothing more than stone attached to a bamboo staff, however when made for battle, the Gada were often made of iron or bronze. Mace training continued into modern day India, where it began to trickle down into mainstream strongman training at the start of the 20th century. A recent resurgence in unconventional and functional training by elite athletes have put this ancient exercise implement back on the forefront of cutting edge performance exercise.
With an extremely disproportionate weight displacement many normal movements prove quite challenging and beneficial to the myriad of stabilizer muscles surrounding our joints and primary power centers. The mace is one of the most effective ways to build core and rotational strength, and is a steel testament to one's desire to take fitness back to its primal roots.

They should put Joe's workout face on one of those kettlebells.
I'd buy it
7:02 100%
yeah, not just a picture tho but a joe rogan kettlebell sculpture!
If they do this, it should be the JRE logo grin, complete with third eye and all the rest. With Joe digitally aged/age reversed for heavier and lighter ones... after all he is always talking about how so and so "used to be a baby."
Sounds like all of you want to do more with this joe like kettbell. Sus
Joe put in 500% more effort than the other guy
Yeah cause Aubrey is a bitch
+GluttonousDragon you poor little boy!
yep that was pathetic, something assholes said in the 90s
TRT's a hell of a drug!!!
joe had bigger weights
I don't know if Joe is doing those cleans correct or not. But that's not important. What's important is his face. And that shit is hilarious! LOL!
he's ridiculous, but I'm laughing at him cause he's such a dickhead!
his face contorts into every robert deniro impression ever done
For the record he's not. This video is why Onnit's whole Kettlebell program is kinda silly.
SHH! SHH !SHH! SHH! SHH !SHH!
BUT effective if you don’t injure yourself
6:57 when your teacher won't play the movie until your class is quiet
Underrated comment 😂😂
@@kidrock8700 for real got me to lol
“...ancient training methods that were used a long time ago...” Thanks Joe
This is probably the funniest thing from Joe Rogan i've ever seen...
Can I get some head
very cool, though Rogans shoulder and back problems seem to have found their cause.
Joe Rogan would be the perfect actor for the gritty reboot of Popeye the sailor man. Props Joe.
LOL!!!!!
This time, it isn’t tobacco in his pipe.
@@blahblah-mh3nw naw its just HGH rolled up
his facial expressions had me rolling on the floor. I love Joe haha.
7:00 that face when you're trying not to say anything about DMT
🤣
6:20 and Aubrey is like "should I edit that out?" lol.
BADLUX HAHAHAHAHA! your comment had me waiting to see what Joe says at 6:20 and i am laughing so hard!
Was not disappointed
Joe's high...as usual
I just can't understand how Joe gets so many back injuries
In all seriousness, it's all that BJJ he does. Love it but it's incredibly hard on the body, especially if you're not training with someone you can trust but most of us train/compete with strangers most of the time. Can't tell if his back form is good or not without a side view but his wrist are doing the right thing.
Also most important thing. His face form is spot on. Good shit.
He does?
Them 70lbs is too much for Joe ..he need to drop to 40lbs or less lol
@Evan Reese If you think bjj isn't taxing on the body you should get out of the McDojo you're training at. I've done muay thai, boxing and weight lifting for decades and nothing comes close to bjj. I've had multiple back injuries, neck injuries, broken nose, broken fingers and toes and ruptured tendons. Luckily nothing too serious enough for me to quit training.
Joe Rogan is a fucking beast.... Former national level bb in taekwondo, black blet in bjj under Machado, black belt in 10th planet under Bravo... and a great commentator and personality.
Never realized he got his bb from machado. I knew eddie promoted him. Not a bad group of professors to get a black belt from
hes a pussy. bought his bb and supports gay marriage
floodo1 just stating known facts
Also a psychedelic adventurer and a stand up comedian
+Greg Giraerts hes a pussy i'd ko that pansy within seconds
I love how serious joe is about his exercise
I've been doing BJJ for 20 years and I've done all the conventional training methods, nothing beat a heavy kettle-bell & body weight exercises for total S& C in the most efficient way possible.
👍👍👍
I can tell joe was high for this, the importance of what he needed to say at 8:55 reveals his soul to me.
I tested out Joe's statement by doing six sets in 30 second intervals.... I've been sore for two day straight so far.. so yeah I'm dead
That workout will take the DeNiro out of you
Best comment lol
TarquinnBlackwood1 holy shit
Haha 😂 had me in stitches 👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 lol so funny thank you from the future!
2:02 what was the random zoom in?
People making fun of Joe bring out of breath: Do the same thing with same sized kettle bells and talk for a minute. Upload the video. That is what a keyboard warrior looks like.
shut up nerd
PolKsio youre one of those keyboard warriors
Horrible form. Its like seeing a teenager walk into the gym and bench his max with horrible form.
That’s not really the point. I am certified kettlebell instructor and know them very well. It’s definitely extremely difficult what he is doing and he should have used a lighter weight because his form was not even close to what would be considered good. In kettlebells we say to “pretend like your wrist does not have the ability to bend” as a visual to know not to bend the wrist at all. I believe he chose an extremely heavy weight just to make it look more intense.
He's 50 years old, what did people expect??
1:29 thank you for the random Joe Rogan pec zoom in, I needed that motivation
this video is GOLD.
6:57 This is the funniest weight lifting video ever.
+pandemonstrosity shhh, shhhh, shhhh, shhhh
Try doing the same thing with 30 pounds even once. I'm not even joking, it feels like your bone could snap.
Yeah, I want to see someone loop that. Aubrey just staring at him while he makes that face haha. I like both of them, but filming exercise is guaranteed comedy.
Yes - until you make one.
Hes throwing around the weight of 2 large dogs
You would probably be doing that with 25lbs
No hespect, Joe Hogan.
27 time worl champ
Joe Hogan smokes de heefer
Cheers for the video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you tried - Parlandealey Melted Fat Process (do a google search)? It is a good one off product for learning how to lose fat with an amazing kettlebell workout without the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work buddy after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.
Ha, are you refering to how he totally cut Aubrey off at the end, Madvillain?
Joe Hogue, dat guy smoke da heefer.
There is no doubt that kettelbells and bodyweight exercises are the best way to have a functional, full body, power/endurance approach to working out. Traditional weight lifitng has its place in a plan, but for an athletic perspective, this type of thing is what should be the focus
Love how the camera pans down to the Onnit logo - as if we didn't know already
I did this today Joe Hogan. And it was very good, I'll stick with it.
"All the way from 12th Century in Persia these warriors and wrestlers learned that if they used something heavier then something they already used in battle...." Something I learned in little league from swinging my bat with a "doughnut" in the "on deck circle".
So you learned it after the persians... no matter how you try and fix your air headed comment you cant... you learned something somebody already knew... and your coach told you to do it... you're done, move on
Thanks for the video. Just watching it gave me motivation to get my shit together. Also, I know we all probably look funny while working out, but Joe's face while doing so is fucking PRICELESS!
Great camera technique with the random off-center zooming...nicely done.
So with that kettlebell exercise, do u work the triceps when you are bringing it down or is it just not worked out in that exercise?
Throwing hay all summer and building houses gets you that functional strength for sure!
Awesome video i need more kettlebells!
Thanks for sharing guy's
I'm loving these videos.
Awesome looking kettlebells. I've heard these are better for your wrists, but none the less, keep the bar aligned with the wrist. Don't bend your wrist like as if you were doing push ups or in the opposite motion. You don't want to stretch those tendons (basically wires) and cause tearing early on.
I got my first mace a few days ago, 6kg (13lb), tried a barbarian squat, and my triceps definitely weren't strong enough to counter the leveraged weight. Some of the movements make my 13lb's feel like 190lb.
You can always move your hand position closer to the weighted end, for more leverage!
@@Onnitofficial respect man replying to this day
Working on form first is the best advise. I hurt my back really badly doing one alternating arm swings with a 24 kg bell. I haven't been able to get back into any sort of weight training since without my back going out on my again. It's really fucking frustrating.
Awesome information guys
Safety. Start with less to get good form and then work the weights up in order to maintain form. Never work out to the point of failure. People in local gyms popped their upper and lower backs due to improper form trying to go big.
07:59 Aubrey's a strong guy. That's a difficult movement even though it's only 25 lbs.
anyone who lifts kb's knows that pretty freaky strength getting that size bell up with one side anchored with the same weight
Sick video!
Nice information
Great advice lads.👍
Soon I'm going to start having 'personal training' sessions on my job site. One station for guys to hoist lumber onto a saw horse and cut it to a size yelled out to them. Another, guys mix water, shovel in some gravel and portland cement. They mix it with a shovel and deep squat walk it in a wheel barrow over to forms and shovel it in there.
Another station will be grading. Using a rake to level out road base, gravel and sand. Depends what we're doing that day.
I will charge people to do grunt work for me. That's the future of functional fitness.
good thanks
4:15 😂😂😂he was trying so hard😂😂😂😂😂
The mace is also really good if you got beef with your neighbors XDDD lol
I just got a 35-pound kettlebell, and I would have trouble doing what Joe did with half the fucking weight. That was fucking animalistic.
He is on gear so that helps
+boombya123 Lol do you know what someone on gear looks like? 😂
+Vegan Brah Rogan has admitted he uses Growth hormone and testosterone and yes I do
+boombya123 where the fuck did he say that
He's on TRT IIRC, so not any monster doses lol.
Mental prep is very important. Always train like your fighting more than one creature
I cannot wait for Onnit to get the shirt Joe is wearing back in stock!
@6:50 when you being loud in da library
Joe start losing his mind from that mind pills he's trying to sell.....4:15 now that's comedy!
Loved the ghost close up at 1:30
Jesus Mr Rogan, you're a beast son!
That other dude trying not to laugh while Joe's talking about warriors and shit.
+petersouth1000 nah dude its how out of breath joe is ahhaa its like huhu you go into huhu battle huhuhuhuhu
Hahaha
lmaooo
Rogan! Rack those cleans tight to the inside of your chest! Youre wasting so much momentum and tiring out your shoulders way quicker then they should be! The cleans should follow a line between your chest hommie!
pat bird shuit your fucking mouth obama you dont know the new world order argh reptilian
"shut your fookin mouth, you'll do fookin nothin"
Rogan is the man. love this dude. He's a real guy with no bull crap.
This so raw it's kinda cool. Very little rehearsal.
Jesus Joe was getting after it! That's awesome! That short little clip right there made me realize I am definitely not giving it my all in the gym.
6;50 can someone make please a gif out of that? So funny!!!! :)
I mean 6:50
Leutwein he was in pain :D
Joe had the Stallone lip while liftin, hahaha...
Actually laughed
It will directly translate into shoulder operation
Should his heels be leaving the ground like that?
Don't do drugs... specially before a presentation of your physical activity.
✅👌
This is Joe's passion and he seems like an extremely honest dude so if he say they are good I'm bought
damn Rogan, 70lbs for alternate cleans?! that's beast!
Wow. Joe's head is huge now compared to back then. GH really does add growth.
New found respect for Joe. Get it boy. Damn
Umm... what’s the random frame cropping?
I tried that first exercise. A kettle bell smashing into ones chin will lay you out quicker than Deontay Wilders right hand. I’ll try again soon.
Joe Rogan is the man, great mindset and always gives it as it is. I need to get some Onnit gear and get at it... Thanks guys!
DAMN!! I wish I was half as smart as Joe Rogan THINKS he is...wow!
it’s also a great training for podcasting
Impressed by this dude I thought he was just a radio guy talking well impressed by this stuff. With
kB s
Joe nearly died after those sets 😂
Aubrey looks about 6'20" fuckin' killin' for fun.
Pair of 70's, man that's alot of weight to toss on this move. Pretty impressive.
6:58 - Joe's battle face
+milbo007 Onnit should make a kettlebell with that face on it. lol
+pomona2251 LOL that would be epic
+milbo007 Aubrey is desperately trying not to laugh
@@pomona2251 that would be the best kettlebell in the world
Lmao Joe is talking about isolation machines like they arent used today lol!
You know what bro... Stick to your nautilus machines. 😂
And how do you avoid a hernia? And how do you not hurt your forearms when the kettlebell swings around? It looks like it hits them.
+Dreaklock It does but you but you will develop a level of control which limits the impact. You also just get used to what impact there is.
Use a lighter kettlebell with perfect form. No reason to be straining yourself as much as Joe does here. Through trial and error you'll figure out how to swing without hurting your wrist, its just physics.
joe rogan is so strong and big-chested and it's quite impressive and for a guy who is his age and can do that deserves recognition and he's inspiring and then also a good video overall and it's interesting
How time flies, do what you love
Best workout album ever, Stickman's the workout! enjoy to those who haven't heard it yet
4:19 I don't know why but this part is just funny to me
no one here would do what joe rogan just did with 70lbs hespect that.
Ryan P I could
Listen. Joe Hogan is a hood huy, but that was not a hood exercise
Because it's dangerous 😂
@@JACKBLACKTOSE 😂 renato
70 LBS x2
That's 64 kg that you're throwing around like that!
Is this good for skinny guys with really high metabolism or should I stick to lifting weights at the gym
So when is the Joe rogan head kettlebell coming out?
This was primal af!!!!!!!
How tall are there?
that's a great exercise.
Joe's breathing was so intense I synced up with it without exercising
I grew up shoveling chicken shit, hauling watermelon, hay that's functional strength its called working on the farm
darrell hastings No such thing as functional strength or useless strength or bricklayer strength or tennis player strength. Strength is the production of force against an external resistance. It is not specific to what activity you do.
Darrel chickenshit hastings
why do you feel the need to brag about such silly things?
Pr0nzehEDITS let him, he finally discovered the internet
darrell hastings Lol farm boi
Powerful Joe Rogan...
Yah, I use the time as a kid off the beach in Virginia I encountered a shark when I was about 300 m from shore. I use that fear when I need to dig deep.
Just ordered a 10lb mace. That's all I will ever need at 60. For me it's just as much weapons training as strength training.
Powerful joe rogan everybody
I exerted most of my energy just watching those reps.
7:00 I wouldnt've been able to keep a straight face watching Joe
