Gosh dangit Peter, not even a second in and hit you hit that ever classic LOTR hum and tone. Eurielle’s entrance just adds to the softest tone.
Reminds me a little of Mist Mountains but it has a distinction that makes it original and absolutely pleasing to the ear.

Almost as soon as you began singing, I thought about my current d&d character, Reed, who is a very dark but yet moral character because of his past. With some of the lyrics being changed, this song is absolutely perfect for Reed to sing for his parents and unborn sibling who he feels he was responsible for their death even though he couldn't have done anything more than he did as they were mercenaries and had been ambushed in their own camp plus he was 15 years old. I absolutely love the song and am amazed by how perfect it is for my character when I wasn't even expecting to find nor looking for a song to be a tribute to/way to remember Reed's family who were lost in an ambush

Okay so Peter Hollens was one of the singers I listened the most in high school. Eurielle is one of my actual favorite singer.

This is possibly my favorite song you have ever done. As a massive Tolkien fan, I cannot help but love this song. Thorin has always been one of my favorite characters, and his death at the end of the Hobbit is one of the saddest parts of the entire series. The portion of the book that this is taken from is one of the coolest additions to the lore of Middle-Earth, and many people seem to forget about it, so thank you for this incredible song.
