“I wanted to cover this song because it had been on my mind a lot lately. The lyrics are very honest and therefore, I think, very powerful. I couldn’t get this slightly varied melody out of my head and I wanted to play around with it and see what Jessie and I could create. Though this song is obviously about a rather serious heartbreak, I don’t think it has to be interpreted in a straightforward way. Infidelity is clearly the indication but I think the affair doesn’t necessarily have to be with another person, but could even represent the inherent issues within the individual themselves - the toxic “other” that creeps between two people and pushes them apart. I really enjoyed working on this piece, and I’m very thankful for Jessie’s beautiful piano playing that made it all possible.” - Jenna
