I think you are referring to the purple wash cloth in the background, in which case, yes! (YO, K2tog) all the way across. Great job identifying the stitches! As a beginner, that is fantastic!

What’s weird for mine is my long tail is on the right and I’m on the right side.

What kind of cast on did you use? That will affect which side the tail is on.
