- I can’t seem to stop but this one was a nightmare from beginning to end, everything went wrong and then at the very end I smashed a litre of paint all over both it and my workshop, still, mustn’t grumble!

There are many bumblebees in our garden but not as many bees 🐝🐝🐝🐝as normally.
Compared to last year we have hardly anything here. making some new houses this weekend ready for them all
Glad to see the update, I’m in west London and hardly any activity here either. Only hairy footed flower bees since February. I’ve seen few hatched mason bee cocoons but not actually seen them around in the garden.

Agree with other comments it’s been a cold start to spring. We too are only just seeing solitary bees out. Hairy footed were our earliest, feasting on the lungworts and wall flowers in the garden. Big difference from your previous garden though, you’ve got a lot of hard surface in that section and plants yet to establish in the pots so early days yet. Great new bee hotel again and I could see a lot of cells in the large hotels sealed with mason so hopefully they’ll be far more bees soon.
I was really worried that due to lockdown we couldn’t come here but the habitats were already here and I thought that they’d got too exposed and maybe the larvae had died inside but they seem to be starting to emerge which is a ‘phew’ moment. xxx
Everything is late in starting to grow in my garden too so I wouldn’t worry too much. Love your latest bee hotels, fantastic designs 👍

Nice to see how things are coming along in your new home . My bee's have not appeared yet , which might be down to the chilly weather here in London, on and off . so im still waiting for them here to .
