***** It was not all that long ago that non-believers among Europeans, along with pagans, were killed for their considerations. Abrahamic theocrats would yet disenfranchise them, if not worse. That imperative is particularly laughable (and sad) when one considers that among atheists a larger percentage have attained a college education than has been attained among the religious-- AND, the percentage of atheists in prison, when compared to the percentage of atheists within the general population, is ridiculously low (not even close-- atheists tend to not go to prison). Even though the US and much of the West is officially secular (and for good reason), there are those who do not see the value in having government completely separated from those interests unique to religion. The God/No-God debate has been going on for thousands of years (in fact, since a time BEFORE the arrival of either the Buddha, or of the Christ), so it would be a bit hasty to think that the "No-God" side of the debate would cease their efforts anytime soon (outside of being forcefully silenced).

These were obviously done at government level (as was the Iraq war, which as you saw there was a lot of opposition to) which of course meant that public opinion meant very little. Thankfully we are on the way to solving the EU issue (if May doesn't royally f*** it up which is likely) but the multiculturalism issue will remain until we get a PM with the bollocks to sort the issue out. It can still be turned around but it needs to be done sooner rather than later.

It's not only muslims that demand and get special treatment. As a white Canadian I can't have my driver's license picture taken unless I remove my headgear; not the same for other religions. To be politically correct Sikhs can now drive a motorcycle without wearing a helmet. I suppose this could be a blessing when they have an accident but it's still not justice for all just because of religion.

Why is one chracterized as free speech but the other considered being a snowflake?
The only thing not allowed anymore is hate speech/crimes whereby threats of violence or actual violence is incited or carried out against people based on their religion or race.
Why do some people have a problem with that or act as if it is somehow an attack on them? You realise muslims can also be charged for hate speech/ hate crimes? Think of all those radical preachers who were done for inciting violence and hate speech. You only seem to have a problem when people are charged for hate speech against Muslims.
