jordanlol117 I still kinda wish he were using Meinl! But Zildjians are super cool too. At least he didn't go with brilliant A's. he keeps it old school/vintage-ish with the cymbal choice
Jo Janga nah man I know you're joking but someone out here is gonna think the 9000's actually are supreme. as far as I remember the 5000's are clean just as the 9000's are. it's honestly just preference.
Oh, the changing of times ;) I remember seeing them in 2006: clear acrylic Truth kit, giant traditional Meinl cymbals, 9000 series everything, improvised double kick all over the place.. Seeing that molded me into the drummer I am today. Though I think everyone "grows up" eventually and moves on to a more "traditional" drum company, I don't see why he had to lose the double pedals. I know he didn't use it much but it was still his thing. I don't think I could use any other cymbals other than Meinl either.

Oh so you noticed that he didn't play it in this video? That's because his drums are full of cocaines. When he bangs them the powder is going up his noses and thats why his face is so angry and full of the energy wen he is play at shows. He wasn't ready for the show in this presentation so why waste the cocains. Eh?

No. Every band member is the same person just dressed up differently, and in different wigs and stuff. That's why you'll notice there's never more than one of them on screen at the same time. If you have seen them all on the same screen, then it's probably doctored footage. It's pretty easy to do these days.

I was about to lose my mind over that single pedal. I had to check and see if that’s always been the case. There isn’t a lot of double pedal work in their music, but there definitely are parts in some songs that would be impossible without one sans being one of the most talented drummers on the planet. I have only met a single drummer capable of playing double pedal sounds with a single pedal and still do intricate and on time patterns.
If you listen to the first 3 Underoath albums "Act of Depression", "Cries of the Past", and "The Changing of Times" he uses tons of double bass on those albums.

It's a Zildjian. Only the best for the best drummers.
Light cymbals retain less of the energy that's imposed upon them by the drummer, so they're often less likely to break than heavier cymbals.
If something has less density it's 3.7% times less likely that it will crack under the strain of anything that has a 2 in it. Especially if there's enough humidity in the air.
I really wanted to know that bass drum’s depth. It looks shallow. Maybe it’s a 14 inch depth.

I'm guessing they probably don't want the option of being labelled a typical metalcore band with expected generic breakdowns and whatnot. So removing the double pedal "limits" their writing in that regard. But, I mean, you can still have double pedal and write creative boundary-pushing music. Shoot, you could use a double pedal in soft jazz if you wanted. Okay, maybe not, but still... So I don't know. Maybe he's allergic to them or something. I have a grandma who's allergic to double pedals. She can't listen to heavy music. She can't drive a car either.
@@YanniDepThat's incorrect. If you listen to the first 3 Underoath albums "Act of Depression", "Cries of the Past", and "The Changing of Times" theres tons of double pedal on those albums. Theres even some double pedal stuff on "They're Only Chasing Safety", "Define The Great Line", and "Lost in the sound of Separation".

"Always an Emperor X" well that's good to know I guess. But there's no way in fuck he's playing some of these Underoath songs with just a single pedal... even as good as Aaron is. I don't buy it.
He is and has for years. If you search enough you can probably find a song youd think he is using double bass, and see for yourself he is not.
One example i could share: There's a song on only chasing safety that sounds like it was recorded with a double kick. When he does it live, he does the pattern on the floor tom instead.
Thats kinda lame that he no longer uses a double bass pedal
