    You couldn't pay me to live in Asheville! Moved to Hendersonville, NC in 2014 from Naples, Florida. Nice small town feel with everything still within 10 minutes. Brevard just a little to far away from I-26. Not a bad place, but just a little off the beaten path.

      You found your place! I love that. There there are so many different areas here and there’s really a certain place for everyone.

    I mean, we LOVE Brevard. Found it accidently years ago..and want to retire here.....

      Me too! Well, I didn’t find it accidentally, but I could imagine myself retiring there for sure. Where are you now?

      Be prepared for alot of inconvenience. Its great for tourists but not a great place to live unless you either do nothing or as lot of volunteer work. 2 grocery stores, a pitiful walmart, a high priced belks with little selection, cute businesses on main st, lots of fast good places. One hospital but you have to go an hour to Asheville for critical treatment and for specialists. Lots of drug addiction that's for sure, and lots of homeless people .
      People are nice.

    Brevard looks like a place for us. We are excited that we will be visiting Asheville for a week in March and plan to visit all of the surrounding areas too. Thank you for the great video. Glad we discovered your channel.

    Asheville was great 20 years ago, but it has become way too big and a yuppie-fied & hipster liberal city. Another southern, middle-class country town ruined! I’ll take Brevard or Hendersonville any day over Asheville. FYI I used to see Jupiter Coyote play in Charleston often. Was Half Moon Outfitters one of your clients?

      Oh yes, the refuge of the left, insults because they don’t actually have anything intelligent to say and the facts don’t fit their narrative. Your numbers are shrinking. More and more people are waking up to the BS. But some of you will be brainwashed to the bitter end exactly as Yuri Bezmenov predicted.

      Money isn’t the problem. Look at the way Charleston is growing. Much more expensive than Asheville. At least in Asheville you can get a few miles out of town and buy some land for a decent price. You have to get an hour away from Charleston to buy even a tiny house or tiny piece of land on a moderate income.
      It’s not the money ruining Asheville. It’s the blue no matter who people that abandoned cities that they ruined and are now moving south and voting the same way because their cognitive dissonance doesn’t allow them to see that they are the problem.

    We have friends who looked in Asheville because they have family a bit further north, and bought in Brevard instead. A few years later they got a steal on a house with a boat/RV garage where they make furniture, still in Brevard. They could afford Asheville and found Brevard to be very friendly and easy to get around. The small town charm blew them away.

    • @livinginasheville
      @livinginasheville  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I agree it’s like stepping back in time to a really charming retro small town field. But then you have access to Asheville in Hendersonville and Charlotte really easily. It’s kind of the best of all worlds.

    I live in Brevard for the last 18 years. It is a great place to live, but inside the city, prices for homes have sky rocketed in the last couple of years and finding a home for sale inside the city limits is not that easy because they go fast. The Brevard Music Center is world famous. Every summer, students from all over the world come to live and study at the music center. They live in the little cabins on the site. World famous musicians also come to the Music Center to put on concerts during the season which runs from about mid June through the first week of August.

    I am looking for a place around Ashville to move to in about 5 to 6 months. I was searching videos and ran across this. It is giving me info to go by. I will be moving from Dallas, Tx. Looking for a lot slower pace of life. Will be renting when I move. I am really looking forward to being in the mountains.

    I live in heaven AKA: Pisgah Forest where the National Forest is my backyard on 3.5 acres old 1958 beautiful brick home.
    🏡 it’s different here. We have lived in exclusive areas of Asheville, still have the convenience without the crime being so out of hand.

      That sounds super nice and peaceful. We loved Brevard. Do you notice a difference in weather there?

    • @mercurygirl6897
      @mercurygirl6897 5 месяцев назад

      @@livinginasheville we are usually 5 or so degrees cooler than Asheville and Transylvania County is the only registered Rain Forest on the US Eastern Seaboard. Before weather games started we get exponentially more rain than anywhere in this immediate area (the actual measurements)
      It is so beautiful. Our entire region! Now to get Asheville straightened out, that would be fantastic. I have skin in that game as I have a son who is a sworn Law Enforcement Officer, night shift 💀 for 5 years with APD. It’s really bad in Asheville, much worse than anyone is talking about, in fact outright dangerous. Now having daytime shootings in downtown. Pathetic! Known to be a “hippy” town…. Not any longer! Not even close!
