probably going to have to change the tires more on the performance due to the enhanced acceleration, personally I've driven a model Y RWD and the acceleration by itself is plenty. I would go with the long range model
I like the performance model more for its styling and drive quality. As for @zenliggtss opinion, I don’t feel it’s accurate. My wife had to buy new tires on her LR model after 40k which were bald. My performance as you saw had aftermarket 20s, but after 28k had 90% tread left. It’s all in how you drive with EVs. The instant torque will kill tires, whether performance for not. I thought I am the only crazy person for trading in a 2023 gray MYP for a 2024 QuickSilver. This video makes me feel much better haha. Sub and waiting for your mod to follow.
XPEL and XPEL Stealth isnt "wrapping it with another color". Its paint protection film, or what we call PPF for short. Most color changing wraps are not PPF, and are just for look. That being said, XPEL can be clear to keep the gloss look or in matte, which makes an awesome effect most people love. I always go for the matte effect wrap, never a color change.
@@JaeTheDevvinyl will protect your car as much, if not more than just ppf...but it can show a dent from a rock..I have had it happen and a little heat makes it disappear. I think your current Y will probably be nicer... especially with all the mods.
Incorrect. While some vinyl is as thick as PPF, it’s not the same material, which makes vinyl less superior in scratch protection, etc. PPF is made from polyurethane, while vinyl wraps are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). PPF vs most vinyl wraps is also thicker, more durable, and lasts longer than vinyl wraps. Vinyl install about 2-4 miles thick while PPF is 6-10. Again, some vinyl is thick, and can take a beating. Most cannot. It’s not even meant to. Look at my video where a buck ran into my XPEL Stealth PPF wrapped MYP a few years back. Not even a scratch. No holes in the PPF, etc. Vinyl would have been mangled.
Really nice job on your 2023 MYP. I have a 2020 MYLR Black exterior & interior. My first time seeing your channel. Do you do these Mods yourself for a business? I’m located in Mass
Ok BUT The new one's going to much more expensive. The new 3 performance is $55k no extra color. The Model Y has always been more expensive, so expect the new Model Y to be around $6-7k more than this Model Y Performance. AND no finance rate discount to .99% either for another grand or so
@@ricric9521 Still.. you’re buying a car with an old design that’s been around for 5 years. Buy the time you done financing the car your design is going to be 10 years old with no value.
Who said I won’t be buying the new Model Y when released? As a content creator for the Tesla brand, it’s a must. Also, my family has owned 7 Teslas, currently owning 3. We’ll have it in the driveway. 😉
We might have lost a ton of subs! Haha. Jokes aside, we definitely killed it! Highly appreciated Justin! The rims are really dope on the performance model. So happy they finally provide EV All Seasons on them now.
For those like @JoshB913 trying to decide between the 2024 MYP and 2024 MYLR, let's consider this: I seriously doubt if the stock 2024 MYLR can match the stock 2024 MYP in doing a sharp left at 36 MPH, then an immediate curve to the right, as seen in this clip: ruclips.net/video/D_45EO5BauU/видео.htmlsi=5kF4SGUUTH9Jt-e_ to urgently clear an intersection safely under yellow. There's more.. with virtually free money (0.99% APR) and just $3,500 separating the 2 trims, it makes absolutely no sense to get the 2024 MYLR with a 0-60 MPH time of 1.3 seconds slower than the stock 2024 MYP. Even with the MYLR acceleration boost (costing additional $2K or using equivalent Tesla credits) you will still end up with a sloppy soft suspension; 20 MPH lower top speed; and a 0-60 MPH time of 0.7 seconds slower (that's a lifetime lol) than a stock MYP. What tire rotation? Tires are cheap by comparison! lol
Haha we both into the 2024 MYP! Got mine mid-March with free FSD transferred by trading in my 2023 M3P (my very first Tesla) bought used last November directly from Tesla when FSD was included practically free, and their car prices were in free fall.
@@JaeTheDev Nope, have been staying away from social media networking sites. My MYP (stealth grey, white interior, without tow hitch) came to me as an inventory vehicle, manufactured last February in Fremont, CA, weeks before their mass/continuing layoffs. So far, after 1,600-ish miles without any infant mortality issues. 👍 Oh btw, blurred out in that 36-mph clip in my original post is an Escort Redline 360C Laser Radar Detector -- required equipment for M3P and MYP! And for redundancy purposes, I have a 4K front-facing camera under the rear-view-mirror support assembly, as well as a rear-facing HD camera.
Sup brother! Hope all is well! Yep, pulled that trigger on this new one. With the .99% apr promo, $7500 tax credit, $1,500 RI EV credit, it was a no-brainer. Just about broke even in the end. Well worth the upgrade in my mind.
Incorrect. The new evaluation for the vehicle recalculated all years of Teslas, including 3s and LRs. All dropped by about 5% across the board, including older models. In the end, the 24 performance has the same range as the 23. That being said, I’m seeing over 310 which is about 12 more miles than rated on this.
I have a friend that gets the newest iPhone everytime the new one comes out even if theirs little to no difference. I see people treating this the same since it's just like a device as well.

I thought I am the only crazy person for trading in a 2023 gray MYP for a 2024 QuickSilver. This video makes me feel much better haha. Sub and waiting for your mod to follow.
Glad to hear you're not alone! There's nothing wrong with wanting something new.
Why order a quicksilver and then wrap it with another color?
Vinyl would have been mangled.
so cool bro!
Thanks 🙏 I totally agree!
Keep it shiny. That color looks amazing.
I’m leaning that way!
I like the old one its already upgrade and i like the tesla name logo at the back
That will be on the new one as well.
Really nice job on your 2023 MYP. I have a 2020 MYLR Black exterior & interior. My first time seeing your channel. Do you do these Mods yourself for a business? I’m located in Mass
Thanks for the compliment! I just do them myself. Most are extremely easy. Exterior ones I leave to the pros.
Could have just waited till the end of year and got the new redesigned Model Y Juniper
@@JaeTheDev OH. Well excuuuuuuse me Daddy Warbucks… I guess you set new straight 🤣
You mess with the bull, you get the horns! 😈 😂 I can’t wait for the new Y as well though. It’s going to be legit for sure!
Keep the silver. PPF only
Going XEPL Stealth after seeing a sample placed. Check out my community section for pics of it on. Looks awesome.
We so shhould have recorded the swapping headliners 😂 😂
Thank god you're keeping those rims love them
We might have lost a ton of subs! Haha. Jokes aside, we definitely killed it! Highly appreciated Justin! The rims are really dope on the performance model. So happy they finally provide EV All Seasons on them now.
Nice but black with black interior the best still
Over 30k views and hundreds of likes say different. 😂 Black on black is sharp though!
@@JaeTheDev The best variation of Silver I have seen on any car
Super high praise Blake! Thanks for the awesome compliment!
what's the difference between a 23 and 24? lol
Look back through the comments. Asked and answered a few times.
I did the exact same, my friend. hahaha
Haha! Nice!
Tires are cheap by comparison! lol
Are we related?! Amazing stated. 👏 🙌
Haha we both into the 2024 MYP! Got mine mid-March with free FSD transferred by trading in my 2023 M3P (my very first Tesla) bought used last November directly from Tesla when FSD was included practically free, and their car prices were in free fall.
@@TuneupMagic Nice! Are you on IG? Hit me up on there if so! Would love to see your MY!
You should remove the chrome emblems.
Oh, don’t you think I’m not! I already have the matte black badges. Just waiting on some sort of PPF to be applied and then adding them.
Where do u get the black badges from?
Amazon
So you did it, how was the resale with the upgrades? @theteslabruh
Sup brother! Hope all is well! Yep, pulled that trigger on this new one. With the .99% apr promo, $7500 tax credit, $1,500 RI EV credit, it was a no-brainer. Just about broke even in the end. Well worth the upgrade in my mind.
Keep the silver! Looks bada..!
Just PPFing it. Wouldnt change the color for nothing!
Say Alcántara one more time!
Alcantara.
@@JaeTheDev 😂
@SuperPapi123 😂😂😂
Color is 🔥
100% agreed!
You gain a better camera, processor but lost the range on the new 2024 Model YP.
Incorrect. The new evaluation for the vehicle recalculated all years of Teslas, including 3s and LRs. All dropped by about 5% across the board, including older models. In the end, the 24 performance has the same range as the 23. That being said, I’m seeing over 310 which is about 12 more miles than rated on this.
like buying an iphone now huh, buy new one every year, LOL
Can’t line the casket with it and bring it to the afterlife. Have some fun while you’re alive. 😆 🤷
I have a friend that gets the newest iPhone everytime the new one comes out even if theirs little to no difference. I see people treating this the same since it's just like a device as well.
