I'm in my 70s and usually cannot remember what I had for lunch yesterday. But I can remember how to build an airplane from scratch. I find it completely normal someone 80+ years old can't remember things that don't matter, like what day you read something or why were you given a document, or where it went when you handed to a staffer.

Just curious - how exactly can someone who's appointed to investigate whether or not a person committed a crime KNOW how people who've yet to be identified as even potential members of a jury "would perceive, receive and consider evidence" and therefore what they would find as to the state of mind and potential culpability of the current occupant of the white house??? Would it NOT be MORE APPROPRIATE for him to simply forward an appropriate set of circumstances and facts of whether or not a crime had been committed and then allow the criminal prosecution of the alleged perpetrator to take place and let those people of the jury make up their own minds?????? Hur's experience on the job sizing up juries might have an impact on the results of this investigation, Biden did reveal classified records to an unauthorized ghost writer.

Because the outcome was predetermined before the investigation began. The only reason there even was an investigation was to pretend they aren’t just trying to railroad Trump and recover damning evidence of the Obama administration’s Russia collusion hoax at the same time.

First he did not have cognitive issues while he was a Senator who stole classified docs and removed them from a protected area to his own random places which was a crime. He was not having cognitive issues while he was VP and also stole classified docs a VP was not suppose to have in his random locations which also is a crime and now he is President with Cognitive issues and they know that he committed those crimes but because he is to 'elderly with cognitive issues" he is not guilty of said crimes ?

How does Robert Hur know how a jury would rule on a case? Isn't th point of a legal procedure to submit evidence and argue the case and then allow the outcome to be what it is. But to suggest that something would happen that is in the future would require him to be psychic, which he is not.
So what's the real reason that he didn't allow the case to play out based on the evidence and arguments by the attorney's?
The guy is clearly intelligent and a good attorney, but why would he not allow the legal system to fully play itself out?

In other words - this was much ado about NOTHING. That is typical of the GOP party. Remember all the endless investigations on Hillary Clinton? How many times did they investigate Benghazi? It was not really about Hillary and/or Benghazi. It was about the GOP keeping their supporters entertained while they did not do their actual jobs. Since there is ample evidence of this lack of truthfulness over the past 50 years, it isn't a stretch to go with the 'he knew what he was doing when he did what he did'. That not only includes all the plagiarisms but now all the selling of influence as well as stealing classified documents and selling them. Doesn't matter that he doesn't remember, only what the evidence is. When a prosecutor is trying to distract from that information and focus on a unrealized 'jury' you know that the plan was always to drop all charges against Biden.

Why would it be up to the investigator to determine if a jury would make a judgement one way or the other?
He just needs to determine if there was a crime. Whether or not a jury would determine that that was forgiveable due to being old, or meaning well should be irrelevant to the investigators purpose.
My worry is, he was divulging classified information 5 years ago... has his cognitive capacity improved since then or declined? He shouldn't have access to classified information with his mind being what it is.

You have to prove that. With Trump, there are multiple eye witnesses that testified to a grand jury that Trump made copies, solicited people to look at said copies, and there is even video proof. Moreover, the documents that have been found at Biden's and Pence's homes are not TS/SCI nor where the hundreds of documents. Secret documents cover: Secret, Top Secret, and TS/SCI. The latter classification of document is what the DOJ is most concerned about - that stuff stays in a hermetically sealed room and is only viewed there. Completely two different cases. It helps to have a baseline understanding of what you are talking about.

OK. Here's a theory.
Hur basically stated that Biden was guilty, not prosecutable, but guilty. However, he offered a gentle off-ramp where Biden could complete his term so as not to give Harris an opening, but opens an opportunity to switch out the nominee without defaulting to Harris.
Just a thought.

By claiming that the jury would find Biden to be an old man with memory issues, Hur simultaneously accomplished two things;
1) He usurped the power of any and all juries that could have heard the case, making certain that no jury would prove him wrong.
2) He did so in a way that prevented him from having to deny the undeniable; that Biden had these documents, that he had no right to have these documents, and that he was careless with these documents.
The words are unflattering toward President Biden, but in the end, Hur accomplished his real goal, which was to protect Biden.
We have someone leading the country that has been deemed unfit to stand trial. Think about that for a little while. Well in reality he's not really leading the country at all but he is the face of it.
That is why he was installed.
Heck, even the Easter bunny can lead him around.

So having classified docs as a Senator and VP, who has NO AUTHORITY to have such documents is ok. Storing those classified documents in a public storage room with student access is ok. Also storing classified documents in your garage next to your Corvette is ok too, BUT in President Trumps case where, AS THE PRESIDENT, he has the authority to declassify classified documents. He stored them in his state of the art, secured/alarmed house in locked safes/rooms with ARMED Secret Service agents is illegal and he gets charged. Interesting right?

No they went after Trump for having multiple TS/SCI documents, making copies of them, solicitation other to look at these documents, showing those documents to other, lying about having them, and then getting caught after he had his lawyer basically testifying that he had nothing of consequence.

Why is this prosecutor trying to speak for a jury that hasn't even heard any testimony or evidence. The FBI did this for Hillary, as well. It is amazing how special these DoJ prosecutors are that they can determine what a jury will decide even before a trial. With such special people working for the DOJ, the public will never have to have a trial again, ever, as these special people can just determine, all on their own the innocence or guilt. If it wasn't "willful," how did the documents get where they were? The can't walk. How did a Senator or VP have legal authority to have them outside of the secure locations in which they are usually stored?
