I'd love to come to your dojo when this pandemic is over, my friend. You are incredible. Actually teach, not beat over the head with information or 'style'.
Please come to my dojo! when the pandemic settle down. And i'm teaching by online.
Now I am creating a homepage for the imformation.
Tosa Eishinryu 😃 wow it looks unique but i can see thr similarities of some of thr katas from some koryu katas 👏👏👏
I love your videos. I started switching my gym routine into Kenjutsu, and Battoujutsu using a wooden Katana (Normal Katana and Reversed-edge sword). At first, it felt weird bringing it to my gym, but the people there are quite accomodating. 3 days of sword practice, and I already lost 3 pounds. Finally, a workout that I really wanted to do. Arigato-gosaimasu! 😊😊
This channel is a precious jewel aaaaaaah
So glad I found it
Thank you everyone for your comments! I see that Iaido demonstration is a sensitive topic and I just want to say that I am always humbly training and learning. My hope is to be able to share with you some of these things so you can enjoy Japanese culture.
Also, I will consider about requests. Let me know! 🙏
SAMURAI KAZ ARTS thank you and when you post your videos I will watch them
Don't listen to the haters. There are so many varieties of Iaido; no discipline is the same. You are absolutely wonderful!!
Pugay!
Greetings from your Asian neighbor country Philippines. May i request please a video giving overview of what is Iaido? I would like to self study it and your videos are really helpful. Thank you Samurai Kaz. Bless your efforts.
I loved the videos do you have a training program or DvD type things I would definitely love to learn from you 😄😄😄
@@lughnie took a look there are no hate comments in this video. :)
Thank you Kaz, it's so nice to see a shorter video yet all the info is there. Great channel I love the fundamentals.
What I do see here is, that you have very high level skills! Sharp, accurate and fast moves. And also there is clear difference between fast and slow. I have practised Karate for long time, but I am inspirated by your videos and started to practice some basics, what you teach in other videos. Thank you Mister!!

Great video Kaz. I love to see your skills in action. Your energy and boundless determination come through in all your work. Keep going!

Thank you master!
Thank you so much for this, Sensei! It would be outstanding to come to your dojo and study with you one day!
Hello
I am an older man (late sixties with a disability). I am looking at Iaido as an exercise I think I can do. I've seen plenty of kata on RUclips but I appreciate the need for instruction. If you are still teaching I would be honored to be your student. I am in the LA area.
Many thanks
Thank you for your comment!
I have been teaching in the La. Please join my school! and Please cotact me! Information is in my description!
Excellent..!
superb! thanks
Thank you for your coment!
Amazing
when the pandemic is gone i am definitely going to japan and come to your dojo so i can finally learn iaido and protect myself ofcourse
Nice, thanks
So exciting,i learn from you
Id like to learn this sword drawing technique. Awesomeness mixes with patience
Bravo!
precise movements
Very good I’ve only started to learn sword.
Very cool very cool I will test that training Someday
Amazing. All the movements are so crisp individually, yet the sequence is so fluid.
Thank you!
Was interesting to watch, thank you for sharing. Your little dog is cute..👍🤝. Skal..🍻🍺🍻
Thank you
Welcome! practice together!
I see some half-swording in that last kata. I was not aware that katanas had techniques involving that. Very cool
RUclips suggested your vid. Loved it.. sub'd and liked
Thank you.
🙏
Nice
Konichwa Kaz san. Would you considder Ju ippon me so giri kata no 11 from Seitei iai with explenation and walk through. Arigatou gozaimasu.
Cute pup! I'd love to see more basic katas and tips on learning to be proficient with putting the katana back in the saya without cutting myself 😁 Keep it up! Love the videos
I'll consider about your riquest! Thanks🙏
Just keep practicing when i first started i still have scars on the webbing between my fingers lol
Eric Tema Thank you for coment! please slowly first and do correctly! 🙏
👏👏👏
Lots of folks love to give opinions but they are only good at that.
I enjoyed your waza. Definitely Eishin Ryu.
Wow his move was so smooth.
This is very relaxing to witness, feels like a meditation to me.
I'm honored to hear that from you.🙏
@@SAMURAIKAZARTS Thankyou! I'm the one who is honored 🙏
These kats are great
I'll try them sets again.
Subscribed quickly 🙏
Liked it but please more kata from standing position thank you
You are too good.
Your video is extraordinary. Please send me some more videos.
I want to learn this meditation in motion
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bill Williard on Facebook was my source and this was a good video please publish more
‘Now I’m MOTIVATED’
素晴らしい動きですね!
ありがとうございます🙏
I Love your videos, what Ryu is this? Very different than what I've studied.
I'm curious about using an Odachi Katana with Iaido, and look forward to learning more. Thankyou
You'd have to be able to actually draw a 4 foot blade and swing it with one hand.. quickly. That's why it's called a field sword
@@daltonpendley3613 Aloha, well iive currently got three fracture ribs, so right now its "weight lifting"... just typing hurts! - using a 60 inch shinwa... using it as a decoration is well... =/ not acceptable... got any pain pillls? :) Love your videos TY!
Nice work ! Can you suggest me a Iado school/Master in Tokyo ? ☺️
🙏
Can You explain O GASUMI?? THANKS
Domo arigatô Sensei !
🙏
OP how would you talk about a 'kata' that uses the combination of the hayakuni, zengo giri, and kissaklgaeshi style in one sitting movement?
read the book of five rings again
THX 😉💬
Thank you for your work. Especially, Suihei chiburui was very impressive and I think it is more realistic than other type of chiburui. I noticed that you were using the real katana. Is it short? How long(cm) is it?
최병택 Thank you for your coment !
Yes, it's a real katana. And The lengh is approximately 83cm. It's a short katana.
How do you get that he is using a real katana? From the sound the katana makes?
❤️🙇♀️
I have a very AWFUL Kirioroshi! Any suggestions how to improve it please.
what is the name of the training katana made of iron and adapted for 1vs1 training ???
Hi Kaz👋 May I ask where do you buy your sword? Can you recommend a shop that also supply abroad. Thank you in advance 🙏
In order to have the best fighting type katana. For weight n sturdiness. What would you suggest? I have a katana. I think it's a nodaichi but it has some weight to it. Drawing and placing it back takes a little bit of practice but what is a good sword ? Weight wise n practical
Important thing is whether suit on you the the length, weight as well. And also situation what you want to do. If you want to do iai or kenjutsu it's better to have short length than “Nodachi “
@samurai kaz arts
What is that short movement before you start to resheath your blade? Is that to fling the blood off? I have seen in movies like the Lone Wolf and Cub movies that they slash their blade through the air to fling the blood off. Is that the same thing here?
It's for flying the blood which is called ''chiburui"
saludos desde Argentina
Woah what a coincidence!! Aren't you the guy in the ghost of tsushima moves in real life video??
Thank you very much for your video. May I ask you, what kind of Iaito are you using and how much does it weight? My Iaito is made of carbon steel 1060 and it`s weight is around 1150 g. Do you think it is to heavy? Take care best regards from Germany
Hi!
This is real swor(shinken). And this is little bit heavy for me. But i'm using it. Because it is able to practice to swing like a light sword. If your katana heavy for you. You can practice like that way. It's for not use your arms. And if you want to have another one. It's good to have light sword than it.
@@SAMURAIKAZARTS
Hello,
Thank you for your response.
I thought your shinken is an Aluminum iaito, because your swings/handmovements are looking so quick and light :)
Thank you for your advice as well. Take care
I am trying to find info on something but I don't know the name maybe you can help me. there is this sword practice where people will hold and please the katana on the ground in front of then like there are meditating. but they move slowly then fast almost like a robot. some times that run the fingers and hands along the scabbard after they take the katana out of the hakama and put it on the floor. i hope that makes sense anyway can anyone help me figure the name out and how to find it?
Are you thinking about the tõrei at the beginning and end of iaido practice? Seitei as well as various koryu have their own versions of the greet to the sword.
Correct me if I am wrong. Kissaki gaeshi looked like something that can be applied if you've been attacked on somewhere enclosed like a narrow alleyway.
Hi, I think this technique is useful when the opponent suddenly attacked in every where, every situation.
@@SAMURAIKAZARTS Understood. I thought it was for narrow pathways due to the block and the cut being narrow unlike the previous ones where the swings were wide. Thank you for that information.
Love the move with thrust combo.
May I use some of these move to practice for my channel? , Teacher Kaz
What kind of channel do you have?
@@SAMURAIKAZARTS I do the channel about my pratice of iaido move, katana cut and daily practice.
I have a question. I have seen lots of videos on cleaning a katana. My question is the total maintenance routine and frequency of the procedures. Do you wipe your blade dry between each tatami mat or water bottle? How about after kata, iaido, battoudo and such? How do you avoid rust and how do you remove rust. I understand some swords are stainless steel, but I'm referring to the non stainless like 1060, 1095, T10, etc... Could be a good video idea. Love the videos btw.
Usually I put on a oil After using katana.
First, Wipe the sword and then put on a oil.
There are better things.
Clove oil, Camellia oil, Olive oil.
im trying to look for things to do in lockdown. Laido looks very interesting, but you're a level of perfection that probably takes years of dedication? Without that stirdy base (leg work) I can't even control my propaline sword. :(
I assume its best to learn the leg work first. What drill steps would you recommend? I'm assuming forgeting the about the sword parts first. just all the leg and body movements at the route.
Thank you.
Do both. Legwork exercises at the beginning of the training to warm up and practice the form, then practice with the sword (1 step + 1 swing, etc) then start with small parts of first 4 kata.
If you are training by yourself, without sensei, you will most likely be far from perfect form anyway and once things open up and you got to the proper training you will find out how many things you are doing wrong. It doesn't matter, don't let it discourage you. Given two options - to train in dojo with sensei or train by yourself, dojo is an obvious choice. Given two options in the current situation - to train by yourself or not to train at all, the choice is obvious again.
Don't let imperfection stop you from action. Do it badly, but do it.
@@kalash_nikov Can't do any training in the UK, plus ive lost my income with lockdown thanks to PM Doris. So I'm on my own with YT looking for isnpiration.
I started going back to judo and got into Goshinkiawa Jujustu Just before the world inverted. the coaches are a little older than me and are very covid paranoid. I can't see the club restarting when most of the students are in their 50s and 60s. the Younger clubs will be vaccine passes and all that shite. I won't be putting any poisens into my body, so access to a tutor will be limited.
Thats my negativity out of the way. thank you for your responce.
@@stuartpaul9211 I live in UK, I know the situation.
You are correct, a lot of negativity, victim mentality and excuses. Get rid off that shit.
Not even sure how your response relates to my comment. I said exact opposite - I know no dojos are open atm and won't be for quite some time. So don't let that discourage you - just train by yourself.
Would you make a video on selection of both a IAIDO GI OBI & HAKAMA. Focusing on points of measurement. Shoulders to Wrist ect?
also Where You recommend to order from please!
I have Found it impossible to locate anything Japanese in my country let alone city.
Also Thank you once again for another amazing video.. I have came across a few basic technique and a blocking videos of yours that have given me my most enjoyment while practicing. This one included
but its come obvious to me my level of Enjoyment would be even higher elevated with a more conferrable attire. Something as simple But Not So Simple it appears as a Kimono and Obi and Where to purchase Proper ones!
🙏
Will think! Where do you live?
✨❣️💙
Arigato gozaimasu
which style of iaido do you practice?
Seitei iai, Tosa eishinryu.
Kaz. Do you use a real sword, or a sharp one for the demonstrations? Where to you buy your swords from, I'm a novice and still looking for information to learn. Wonderful demonstration 5 star skills from me.
Hi, i'm using real sword in the video. i don't know the weight it. But it's little heavier than others. i bought one from katana shop in J apan.
This is awesome where is your dojo I want to study under as your student
I don't have a dojo. But i'm teaching in person or directly online leasson.
@@SAMURAIKAZARTS ok so we're can I find you online
Very poetic movements. Let us hope they remain unused.
I hope you teach here in the Philippines.
I hope so!
is there any kenjutsu for sitting as well?
There are some of movements to perform from sitting position.
Is there a kata for katana?
If so can you teach us?
there are basic katas (kihon)
nice preformance i wish you could do it more slow.
actually if anyone here watch demon slayer (Japanese anime) zenitsu's first form is a remaining of laido it's called thunderclap and flash
Excellent movement only criticism is your tsuba is loose and rattles a bit otherwise superb
