Your videos are a wealth of knowledge. I have been contemplating getting a honda snowblower. I see all the issues with the blowers on the forums and it is a source of anxiety. With the used blowers I worry about the right side gear case, the height control system on track models and the difficuly with turning these units. The new blowers have the outsourced hydro, the clogging chute and the turning system which you talked about here. It seems so many of the blowers I've seen are advertised are listed as like new?
I prefer the older Honda's. RST usually need rebuilding after 20-30 years. Then you are good for another generation. Engines are nearly bulletproof as long as oil in them.
Awsome vid. Thankyou for this new information on the newest honda blowers..hmmm I hope this outsourced hydro was tested by honda properly and they didn't fail us. I planned on reliability for at least 20yrs. My bug MTD was problem free for years
I was told by one of the 30 year plus Honda techs if the adjustment is set right which it usually is by the factory/shop and you use the steering handles correctly, and do NOT dump the clutch all the time the transmission should last a long time.

Yes, for a couple months now I’ve talked to you several times. Yeah that’s the only one I seen when you change the seal that I was curious on a video of you taking the whole hydrostatic apart.
There’s not one video on RUclips with someone taking a hydrostatic transmission apart for hs models Only the right hand gearbox. And changing seals. So my guess they never have a problem

Thx for another excellent video. On the question of the Hydrostatic transmission: should the drive be engaged while the machine is in neutral or is it okay to engage the drive with the machine already in fwd or reverse.
great question. if you saw my video on using my hss928 doing the berm you saw me doing it the WRONG way , that is dumping the clutch so to speak when already in F or R. The right way is to put lever in neutral or as close as possible, pull down drive handle and then you can move it forward and reverse. I'll have a tutorial on this soon. For years I have been using the old style manual transmission on my 80's so I am gonna have to teach myself to do it a different way. Thanks for watching.

With all your videos you make I never seen one with the old hs models about the hydrostatic. Not unless I missed it. Or they never break lol

My HSS928 doesn’t have steering. Is that special in Canada?
Must be an early model Canadian HSS .Consider yourself lucky.

Uh-oh, I've been doing it wrong. Fortunately I haven't used it much since I got the machine a little over a month ago.
@@toddb930 don't feel bad. i was also until the Head Honda tech at the dealer gave me a demonstration. He asked me to make this video pretty much.
You mentioned lubricating the chains. Do you have a recommendation of a good chain lube made for cold weather?
Honda sells a chain lube. I use Liquid Wrench Chain and Cable lube. works for me. Not a recommendation. Just what works for me.
