    “RUclips creators provide the alternative entertainment that can’t be found on mainstream TV Programming”
    NAILED IT. I don’t care at all about folks getting mad at each other over romantic interests, or dragons, or zombies, or whatever is the new TV trend. Show me some dudes doin stuff in the shop and get my brain juices flowing.
    As you’ve repeated time and time again, it’s not because we should, it’s because we CAN. Keep up the awesome, educational, entertaining, and consistent content. There’s lots of us that enjoy it without complaints.

    16:20 This channel genuinely has some of the most out of the box and unique builds. They might not be high dollar high horsepower, in fact they're usually the opposite but they scratch that itch we've all had of like, "what if I put a predator engine in X?" "what if I converted this electric golf cart to hybrid?" etc. It begs the question, "why not?!" and I love to see it. Genuinely one of the most educational and interesting automotive channels on youtube. Definitely hit the nail on the head w "this is the type of entertainment I want to see" that you can't get on legacy media channels. I can't stand watching another six figure LS swap build where they buy off the shelf components and slap it all together with as much brand sponsorship as possible. Yuck

    Reminds me of my youth. I can remember I wanted a go cart. My family couldn't afford one but I did find a ride on lawn mower with a blown motor for ten dollars. I remember I stuck just a regular lawn mower. Engine on it and then I figured out how to make it go much faster through change in the size of pulleys. I did all this when I was around twelve- thirteen. Didn't have anyone to show me how to do it. I just had to try and figure it out.

    You can get prefilter socks for those air filters pretty inexpensively. The better ones are water repellent, so the filter doesn't get soaked if it's in the path of spray. I have one on my minibike with the same setup, and it does a great job of keeping all but the fine dust out of the actual filter.

    • @tin2001
      @tin2001 15 дней назад

      I've seen literal human socks stuck on air filters to prefilter them. Effectiveness is probably debatable, but I assume it was done to solve a problem with what was available.

    The vibration isolation is almost a textbook example. However, for a bit better isolation, I would stiffen up the plate near the front motor mount with an L-profile across. The idea is that you want as big of a difference in stiffness as possible between the rubber isolators and their mounting points.
    Also, it is absolutely possible to achieve low exhaust restriction and high noise reduction in a silencer. This however will require the silencer to grow larger.

    I'm not sure that rubber exhaust hanger is going to do much as an engine mount. Have you considered using a polyurethane exhaust hanger instead? It should be stiff enough to be more effective as an engine mount and more durable too. As in added benefit, you should be able to find a couple for under $10 from "the jungle site". Should swap right in with a bit of soapy water.

    Excellent work so far. You have the good rear end btw. No splines to strip out

    Really excited to see how this turns out. Given that i have almost all the ingredients (elec cart, 212, alt, alt to 212 bracketry) im really tempted to recreate this one. My theoretical 'spin' on the idea would be to use the cable solenoid on a WOT switch to adjust the governor from ~2800 to ~4300 rpm to lower part throttle noise, along with a contactor briefly hooking the 12v starter battery through a diode (and perhaps a large resistive winding as on my 1989 electric cart) to the motor circuit as a form of 'tip in enrichment' if the cart didn't like rolling away from a stop at the lower engine rpm. Excited to see the next installment!

    This reminds me when i did put a genset controller on my cheap "6kw" generator. Also used the choke of the bigger ones, but put a solenoid directly on it

    Hey Jimbo! Nice work🙂
    Because this thing has a series wound motor, aka a universal motor because it will run with AC or DC input, you could simplify the system even more and increase efficiency by not rectifying the alternator output.

    muffler experiments will be quite interesting to see, like how quiet you can make a 50cc 2T with a limited space and without significant power loss

    Michigan!? Didn't know you where around these parts, I watched that video series as well, thought that was all in Kansas. That is one thing we got going for us in MI, however, they don't last long!! Great video as always!

    Loving the golf carts. I really hope one gets an off the shelf generator and small battery like a series hybrid car. Would love to see what you can do with controlling it all.
