I'm stuck in the 80s. I can't get out, please… don't get me out of here! (This syndrome happens to everyone who lived from 20 to 30 years of age in a certain era, we always think that ours is the best).
For me, in my late 20's, this music still evokes emotional feelings....I was in love with the music and what was happening then, for me. Still one of my favorites!
A true 80s classic. The two note synth after each verse makes me stop and listen every time I hear this song. Like a doorbell that asks me to open up and listen. Something important is coming next. Fantastic song.
Love this song! I used to drive on the 5 freeway on my way to work in Downtown L.A listening to KROQ. I would hit the clubs in Hollywood with my co-workers after work. SUCH GREAT MEMORIES, 80's AWESOME!
Puesss sí y no. Mejor llámale Reino Unido, para considerar tanto a los escoceses, norirlandeses y galeses. Y éso que, no me meto en decir el legado irlandés, jamaicano y demás en la música inglesa, no siempre reconocido
I also like B-Movie, Nowhere Girl and Heaven 17, Let Me Go! Best 80's Songs for me and this one always played it loud on my way to work in my 86 Trans Am. All the remixes had on cassette.
Une chanson qui rentre dans mon ❤. Une autre dimension. Les années 80 un monde différent. La joie de vivre .une jeunesse heureuse .une jeunesse qui avait le sens du respect envers les adultes.
My favourite of theirs is such a shame. That's the one I found last year. Carnt believe I grew up in the 80s and only song I,d herd of theirs wa it's my life.
Not appreciated enough in their day - a phenomenal band with many great songs. They helped me through a lot of shit. And years later, this still fucking rules.
Been listening to this since -84 but haven't understood the lyrics until 2018. I am mesmerized by the sound of the voice more than the meaning of the words. The soundscape is magical. 'How much do you commit yourself?' Is not to himself but to his lover.
80’s without Talk Talk ? No chance.. love them deep in my heart ❤️. There is something very special in this band. Sure people knows that. I call it unique. With all the respect to many bands from that era that I like too .
fantastic music and so sad to learn of Mark Hollis passing today. Talk Talk one of the most under rated bands ever. Very influential on other musicians.
Its not just the synths, its the style of the music/structure/arrangement that is the magic and the vocals. Today you have synths over everything and drum machines and samplers BUT the magic isn't there.
Absolutely agree .. What a fantastic time to be alive . Hopefully we will wake from our slumber soon , realise we cant keep abusing our home planet , and become better people . I get the feeling Music will play a huge part in our mass raising of awareness to what we are expecting , the Christ consciousness , we are capable of so much more , we just need to realise it and take a bold step forward , before it,s too late. Love is all we need. Literally. . It's that easy , but seems so foreign now , Can't wait for someone to take the first step to a Better , brighter , more connected loving Future. Love Peace Always
you can taste and smell memories from the 80s -no"smart" tablet/ digital surveillance society- people together in the music , people really together..present , with you, in mind body and spirit this is what a song brings back..
It's my life don't you forget. Talk Talk one of the best pop rock bands from the 80s...Love Talk Talk so much! Thanks for the memories. ...and the new ones too! :-) Baran
You are not kidding song after song and especially this dance tune. The whole club would crowd the dance floor with hardly any room to get down. ...but you made sure you had a space to show your dancing talent. Great memories. ...
RIP Mark Hollis. This song is and will always be one of my favorites of all time. Thought I had virtually every version of this classic on vinyl. This with the stutter drum sequences and the hard ending are new to me. Never heard it. Song always makes me feel melancholy but I still listen to it all the time. I'm 53 now!!!
maybe the best song of mankind
My God I miss the 80s, thank God 4 RUclips.
2024 anyone?
Beautiful song❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Awesome High Energy Classic.

I have both my kids on the music I grew up on, this was and will always be an 80’s classic…… when music was music💯
From time to time I run up on one that gives me chills when I hear it. Good times
When music was real music 💜💯
I try not to punch down on today's kids. They have nothing.
Nothing Like Mark Hollis Was The Man👍📻🎶👍RIP🌠
... Most Definitely!!!
LONG LIVE MUSICAL JOURNEYS!!!❤
LONG LIVE THE SECOND BRITISH INVASION...🌌🎶🌙🌎☮️🤘@@user-kl4bh4lq6r
If this didn't get you on a dance floor back in the 80's ........
Awesome song. I know that I come here every year or so to leave a comment, but I just never get tired of it!
Mark Hollis had a great voice that i will never forget. Now he is gone. So, Sad!
I always liked Talk Talk. I rediscovered them lately and can't seem to get enough. I was especially disheartened to learn of the death of Mark Hollis.
The last 45 I ever bought. I still have it.
This song hits after getting out of toxic relationship. It is indeed My Life.
Love that song and the beat to the song
talk talk forever in my life !!! it's my life since 1983 !!
This is the best version ever, can’t find it anywhere else
80's.....Happy the person who lived at that time.
LONG LIVE THE 80's and that's a FACT!!!!!!
WHAT A GREAT SONG
Was a teenager in the 80s. Don't miss much about that era except our music - without a doubt, the best. Love this song still.
+RainPoetry Music was our life as teenagers in the 80's. No doubt unmatched until this day.
Angel of Silence
Agreed
absolutely agreed!

Agree 100%
A true 80s classic. The two note synth after each verse makes me stop and listen every time I hear this song. Like a doorbell that asks me to open up and listen. Something important is coming next. Fantastic song.
good thinking
Great analogy..ah the 80s✨
How true !
Never had a song do this to me… This haunting feeling. Why?
What a gorgeous analogy……
and a profoundly beautiful, insightful mind.
I was 15 yrs old, high school days.. Gen X. SOOOOO GOOD.
One of those songs you never get tired of…
Feel it deep inside, thank you.
Absolute 80s classic.
Crazy this music seems more in tune today than the music of today
Either you get the '80s or you don't, and this is at the heart of it right here...
Love this song! I used to drive on the 5 freeway on my way to work in Downtown L.A listening to KROQ. I would hit the clubs in Hollywood with my co-workers after work. SUCH GREAT MEMORIES, 80's AWESOME!
KROQ! Was fortunate to meet the Bangles in 1985 when they were on Rodney on the Roq one evening! Miss Southern California, miss KROQ!
Still one of the best songs ever…

Simply the best song ever.

@@davidfreeman3154 Mark's voice is its own instrument...a gift that he used so often and treated so well. I cherish it, his band and their music.
I'm 70 and this extended version is the greatest! I have played this up to 10 times in a row. Wow!
England has always made the best music.
Puesss sí y no. Mejor llámale Reino Unido, para considerar tanto a los escoceses, norirlandeses y galeses. Y éso que, no me meto en decir el legado irlandés, jamaicano y demás en la música inglesa, no siempre reconocido
The 80s absolutely ruled the world.
It was definitely a must play songs with clubs and public events..!!
I came of age in the 60s so that’s my thing, but in retrospect 80s music is the most underrated. Love this stuff
One of the all-time greatest basslines in any pop song, any era.
It almost sounds as if The Real McCoy borrowed the bassline and modified it for "Another Night."
I also like B-Movie, Nowhere Girl and Heaven 17, Let Me Go! Best 80's Songs for me and this one always played it loud on my way to work in my 86 Trans Am. All the remixes had on cassette.

So many more layers than the radio cut. It’s like hearing the song for the first time. Masterpiece

Super version of this classic and unforgettable song. The bass thread is just sumptuous and the voice melts you.Marvelous stuff.
This came up in my playlist. I didn’t recall ever hearing it before. I was immediately hooked and played it over and over and over! And over again.

You can't beat the original, Been doing that shit since '84 when that song dropped!
Today musicians wish they could make music like this : Mark Hollis thank you for making great music .RIP and love always.

Pure gold. Draws me to the deepest, furthest corners of my vague memories and sensations of which are only mine and cannot be described.

YES! Synths are magic
Its not just the synths, its the style of the music/structure/arrangement that is the magic and the vocals. Today you have synths over everything and drum machines and samplers BUT the magic isn't there.
I think 80s artists were telling a story within the music structure.
