This game was so far ahead of it's time. I wasted so many hours of my life, no lifing this game when it came out on the Dreamcast. I was so immersed in it's world.
This was the first video game where you could openly explore I believe, especially when being able to talk to all these people. This game was a huge step for video games in general. It was very expensive to make as well.
It's not the first game to do this.... it's the first to be super intricate in open world perspective but not the first open world where you speak to people
Metal gear Solid I think was the real first step to gaming because it was betrayed like a movie with realistic game play and probably the game responsible for stealth combat to what we see in many games today.

Oh and now there's a weird hunger mechanic that I'm not too fond of but all in all, Pretty damn good story.

So he learnt quite a lot of useful techniques and mastered them in such short time and despite himself and his mate was all beaten up they still managed to take down an entire mad angels by the two of them with the right hand man being quite the difficult guy to fight. Now in Shenmue 2 I'm sure he improves even more so how on earth did such a man like Ryo struggled so much the low level thug leader yanlang who just have raw power but has like no real techniques and relies on just swinging around and just trying to grab and throw? With all these techniques Ryo gained and managing to take down thugs, gang leaders and even an entire gang with help from a half dead friend and he himself was half dead? Makes no sense, what's worse he even have to learn the body check just to defeat Yanlang. I understand about the red snake leader but Yanlang made no sense lol. Anyone who knows Ryo in Japan would be like wdh, so you can take down an entire gang with some help and both of you are half dead and sicne then you improved so much and actually still lost to this Yanlang guy?

it's a remaster of a 19 year old game. the graphics are barely touched up, but hey, that's all a remaster usually is. You can't compare it to the likes of the recent Crash or Spyro ones, because they are proper remakes.
I would have bought this game, but the lack of new animation just gets to me. I wish they redid the look at least. And don't get me started with the voice acting lol But it was a good game the first time I played it.
