the first time I heard Roman sky I knew I needed an acoustic of this song and this performance is everything I hoped for and way more. so much talent, Emotion and dedication to their music. this band is just unique. I love you guys. ❤️
I meant everyone said the same thing about Nirvana. How's this rock bank gonna sound acoustic and it was the best thing ever. Maybe I'm showing my age but any modern rock band will say Nirvana was a major Influence
I just have to be honest this the most incredible live performance I’ve ever seen especially in this quiet acoustic setting I know this band isn’t for everyone but they’ve been one of my favorites since I started to figure out what music is and this band has been through so much and to see them finallly get some of the love and recognition they deserve as one of the greatest groups to ever grace us with there talents warms my heart!
This was a lot better than the album version. Shadows really poured his soul into this performance. The string section and Gates' harmonies really complimented his dedication. And the band as a whole, along with Brian Haner I and the string section, really stuck together, as if they were sharing the same brain. Even though this was freaking flawless, they didn't leave their modesty and humility at home. Respect.
mrknockknock1 you know what? Yeah, I like it more than the album version. Sounds more natural and classic with no unnatural cuts and no electric guitar. It sounds less manufactured and recorded, and more like a band of bards telling the story of a great Roman general.
I just got into sevenfold this year and this is the first time I’m listening to this- first time hearing Matt’s voice at this age, I love it so much X3
I started playing guitar because of A7X. I love listening to their music. But at the same time, I play a lot of acoustic and fingerstyle music. So, I'm a very happy person when I get to see their first ever acoustic session. My life is now complete. Can't wait to see more. 😄

This performance is spectacular. Been a long time fan, saw them once at Ozzfest in Seattle (Auburn) in 2006. I was a huge fan of Sounding the 7th Trumpet and Waking the Fallen, and was not an initial fan of anything after that. I guess as I've gotten older it has started to grow on me. This is my first time hearing this song and I love it.
I noticed something cool while watching this. My tv was playing & If you watch its always sunny in Philadelphia, watch the episode "Charlie has cancer". Theres an old A7X Waking the fallen sticker on the bathroom wall in the bar!
Yeah same here! On the all access DVD that came out when I was in middle school, it shows them and their fans putting those stickers everywhere to get their name out!
Listening to this song, while I see through the window glass of my room the rain falling. It's a beautiful day. and nothing like a good song to accompany.
Brooks Wackerman fits in this incredibly. Since Rev's passing, he's facilitated the growth of the entire band, how I imagine Rev would have. Kudos to Brooks for schooling me when he was 14, and I was 15, on that Bad 4 Good CD. I was thinking I was good for my age until I heard that! Glad to see him in a situation where he can stretch out a bit.
I agree, no one can replace the rev and i love Brooks for bringing his own style to the band, and never trying to mimmic Jimmy. He always plays the songs the way Jimmy made them, and doesnt twist them or add to it. I respect him so much for that.
I think I remember them stating that they're mainly doing songs off the stage when they start touring next rather than the ones they usually play live.
I always listen to this song when I'm just feeling a little sad, alone or lost. It's just very peaceful and nice to look at the night sky and have this playing

The whole band is so talented!! Individually their amazing artists, perfectionist, they make their instruments scream if you know what I mean.. So when they come together as a band it's mind blowing.. I can't get enough of them.. I am 33 and i have been a fan since I was 16 years old. Inspired me to play guitar and start my own band. Been my favorite band since.
the first time I heard Roman sky I knew I needed an acoustic of this song and this performance is everything I hoped for and way more. so much talent, Emotion and dedication to their music. this band is just unique. I love you guys. ❤️
petsandmusic i was really hoping for an acoustic of crimson day or acid rain that would be so cool
The Rev would have been proud!
Joyce Vijay . No mientas más. La nariz crece.
He would've.
Syn and Matt have such amazing voices together, its amazing to see how well they go together.
This video proof that even metal band can sound very beautiful.
yusuf bahtiar Nirvana-Unplugged
that's grunge
Chris Doughty that's grunge, it's not the same
I meant everyone said the same thing about Nirvana. How's this rock bank gonna sound acoustic and it was the best thing ever. Maybe I'm showing my age but any modern rock band will say Nirvana was a major Influence
other proof is corey taylor singing in slipknot and stone sour
I don't like these guys, I love them.
They seriously need to put together an album of their acoustics😮💨❤️
They have
Papa Gates was behind Matt!!💓
αλιcε are you greek?
ANOTHER account no, I'm Italian but I study greek at School.
αλιcε ok I asked that cause of your username 😃😃😆😆
Yes, that IS papa Gates! I thought no one else noticed for a min! Lol.
Faceeee bookk
Avenged Sevenfold saved my life many times, now they have inspired me to create a band.
What’s your band called?
Since Death
Iron Stingray god bless U
Good luck brother
Good luck man I hope I'll be buying your albums in 3 years
i really love how Syn's father also do intro backup at behind of Syn, what a father he is!
This is such a wonderful song, wished they played it live more often
A7X is the last rock band I still enjoy today, hope you never stop working on new projects
Same brothercousin
"We've never played this before...no manager...no cheating? Uh... OK."
Fucking nailed it anyways, perfect, sounded just like it was on an album.
The ending guitar solo is burning hot !
Yup
Yeah but it's not like how your ass burns after you tried to put 6 hot dogs in your butt at once HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA remember that?
I just got into sevenfold this year and this is the first time I’m listening to this- first time hearing Matt’s voice at this age, I love it so much X3
Synyster gates is amazing at the guitar 😍
the guys are doing both heavy metal and classical music what do they do very well !!
+1
Bb!
I lost my baby a year ago, and for a reason he chose this song for me to celebrate his life. Thank you guys so much, I’m grateful for your existence ❤
I didn't move till the end. Amazing work.
I started playing guitar because of A7X. I love listening to their music. But at the same time, I play a lot of acoustic and fingerstyle music. So, I'm a very happy person when I get to see their first ever acoustic session. My life is now complete. Can't wait to see more. 😄
Amirul Syafiq Hishamudin me too man I just got the deathbat tatted because of them making me want to play guitar
Same here 😉
I cant believe its almost 20 years i have been listening to them and still goes to their concert...i feel old...A7X please come to Singapore again....
Papa Gates
He is getting old though :(
bless
@Content 69 oh shush
@@demanderhujon2317 I mean, he is a dad and a grandpa
Is it bad that i like this version much better than the original?
IsraBrine No. Live performances are usually a lot better.
Both are really good
I think the electric solo works better as a climax, but this is great in its own way.
They sound much better live than studio
It is much better, i downloaded it to spotify as soon as i heard this!
Lyric
As the embers rose through the Roman sky
Tell me were you calm when they took your life?
Just before you go, tell us how the heavens flow
Weightless evermore, as you walk beyond that door
Shine forever true
Shared with us the world well before your time
Though they took your voice words forever shine
Just before you go, tell us how the heavens flow
Weightless evermore, as you walk beyond that door
Shine forever true
As they spoke your fate a fearless man replied
"As you will sentence me, your fear is beyond mine"
Just before you go, tell us how the heavens flow
Weightless evermore, as you walk beyond that door
Shine forever true
one of my fav song from the new album, this version rocks...\m/... Gates is now one of my Guitar Gods.
rakistang pinoy check out his "master class" here on youtube. He gets into the blues, what started it all!
Mine too✌✌✌🤘🤘
Have you checked out the Synyster Gates School? It's a online guitar community with many lessons and it's free. Come and join if you're playing guitar or want to learn it.

The new version is very sweett
Synyster Gates is the best.🥀💓
αλιcε Synyster Gates Dad is the best

αλιcε . Por qué no lo dices en Español?
Pranay Umang . Otro Español que no tiene cojones de comentar en su idioma.
Silvia Moreno bro i can't understand Spanish.
I am dying. I am more in love than ever now. I am in tears. This song hit me hard. Life is so hard.
I've been waiting years for live acoustic footage and I gotta say it's amazing
This needs to be in a movie soundtrack
Agreed
Hcota27 I'm actually hoping to include this in a short film I may be making
Hcota27 #TheWalkingDead ?
or in a bad ass game.
Eduardo Marquez hell yeah imagine this playing in Battlefield 1 instant erection
Honestly one of their best intros of newer times, this and The Stage are just pure awesome.
God damn shadows was on point. Such a Beautiful voice man. My favorite “ballad” off the stage as well.
one word: masterpiece
Yep
The stage is so perfect album
How can anyone hate A7X, such an amazing band!
0:55 Look at M. Shadows
That just makes me happy
@@julianlyhus3479 me too
This performance is spectacular.
Alex Landress cool last name
zachary landress ditto
avenged sevenfold is my life
sundal
I was never a big fan of A7X until this album. It has such beautiful peaces of seldom writing, like this one in particular.
Never clicked so fast
Never seen such an unoriginal comment
tajulafham94 same lmao
I noticed something cool while watching this. My tv was playing & If you watch its always sunny in Philadelphia, watch the episode "Charlie has cancer". Theres an old A7X Waking the fallen sticker on the bathroom wall in the bar!
And Charlie wears the deathbat logo on his green long sleeve shirt almost every episode.
The logo on charlies jacket is very similiar, but its not the deathbat. But Ive seen an avenged sticker 3 different times
I loved Bad 4 Good so I was so excited to learn that Brooks was in A7X.
I agree, no one can replace the rev and i love Brooks for bringing his own style to the band, and never trying to mimmic Jimmy. He always plays the songs the way Jimmy made them, and doesnt twist them or add to it. I respect him so much for that.
I am convinced that Brookes was the absolute best choice for A7X and I agree that his style is reminiscent of the Rev’s. I love it so much.🔥
Shut up man u make me miss jimmy 😑😑
Damn that was good.
At 2:31 man shadows voice is something serious. Damn he is amazing they all are. My no.1 favorite band ever!!
The best Band of the world
Guilherme Soares You got that right man
I bet you never have been more right of something in your life
"It's getting there" that means it's gonna be on the setlist!!!
Or that means it's getting there? XD
I think I remember them stating that they're mainly doing songs off the stage when they start touring next rather than the ones they usually play live.
Brandon Sturgis I hope they do the full version of Exist
Called it
infuriatedsloth That's too long of a song so most likely they won't ever do the full version but hopefully they do someday
I always listen to this song when I'm just feeling a little sad, alone or lost. It's just very peaceful and nice to look at the night sky and have this playing
Pure perfection!!.. Best live, accoustic song that I've ever heard in my life!!.. It beautifully rocks!!.. Matt Shadows voice is on point, sounds amazing.. They all sound amazing!!.. The whole band is so talented!! Individually their amazing artists, perfectionist, they make their instruments scream if you know what I mean.. So when they come together as a band it's mind blowing.. I can't get enough of them.. I've watched endless interviews of them and their all so hummble that sometime I wonder if they realized how great, amazing, talented of a band they are.. I really hope they release the whole UNEDITED {Visual}performance, of Live at the Grammy Museum. I need to see/hear it all and I like the Intro's too!! ♡💀🦇
I love his natural vibrato :-)
Always back for this beatiful version🖤
