His mastery of language is as impressive as the rest of it. There's a kindness and respect in the way he speaks. We could do with a great deal more of that these days.
Had the privilege to share a couple of bottles of wine with the great Eric Bibb in a Whitley Bay hotel in northern England a few years back a superb musician, singer and a true gentleman.Look forward to seeing h again soon.
My favorite kind of teaching is like this, when someone just shares their experience. Mr. Bibb doesn't tell you what to do, but he sure makes a big impression! Really inspiring and fun to watch/listen to. Go Eric!
This really gives me comfort. Im not a "good" student myself, but I keep listening and stealing bits and pieces from other guitarists, just to develop something that is uniquely my own.
I saw Eric in Adelaide around this time 2010ish... What a gift he is to the world of music.. I love his guitar playing.. I aspire to be as good one day.. although my little stumpy fingers probably will make it hard.. nevertheless, his playing inspires me.
I first heard eric at theFairy folk festival. Gosh I would love to have a few lessons from this champian. When are you coming to australia next. Nnot many in the world of this class. all the best. OH why do you play in a drop d tuning when you can it all on standard tuning john
Hey there im not sure if you were answered but it seems he is just tuned down a whole step to CGCFAD. So if you just take your capo off your second fret and play it in standard position it will sound like his in the video. Hope that makes sense im a terrible teacher:b
I think he failed to give props to Kottke, the second or third piece is a direct taste of Stealing, an arrangement by Kottke, Ni moda, he is the the new generation of highly educated, refined artists that in spite of lacking fire and gut is the future of The Blues. I prefer, obviously, Hopkins et. al...
Mr. Bibb has such a beautiful energy with not just his playing but his personality it makes you listen and then just all together a great musician.
Geeez! Eric doesn't need to play or sing. He has such a great voice, it sounds like music just to hear him speak!
Well said and its quite similar to Keb Mo...love their voice
His mastery of language is as impressive as the rest of it. There's a kindness and respect in the way he speaks. We could do with a great deal more of that these days.
Eric is a sublime artist, and one of music's best kept secrets!

Top bloke who plays a Fylde guitar made in Cumbria
Amazing guitars. I had the pleasure of playing a Fylde parlour and it blew me away... I just couldn't afford it unfortunately.
You Rock, Bro!!!
This man seems like a true gent !
I think the whole guitar is tuned down a whole tone - great feel for his songs.
D standard/C# standard is always the blues tuning to my ears
Great guitar sound: for you what kind of strings he is using?... very very slim for me.
I've never heard of this dude, but I like him.
