    My son purchased one of those for me today, as well as the ultimate and all American scrambles and am pretty impressed with them for what they are. He was comparing them with the Jimmy Dean's that are similar, but we're chock-ful of junk and was smart of him to choose these instead. Got them at Walmart and we're a $1.98, which is reasonable and saw them online for $2.50 at target

    When reviewing products like this it is pointless to mention that you can do it cheaper on your own, part of the cost is the convenience of not doing it on your own. One thing I love about this product is the individually packaged ingredients inside, if you are cutting down on carbs for example you can skip the potatoes and still get a quick scramble.

    They look good. $2.49 is still cheaper than leaving work and grabbing takeout. Would be best to try and catch them on sale if you don't want to buy all the stuff to make your own little mini scambles. Also, I saw on the package while you were spinning it around that it said if you used 2 eggs. I would definitely rather have 2 eggs in the scramble and add a bit of pepper or hot sauce when mixing. Thanks for the reveiw.

    My biggest problem with this product is that you literally don’t just crack an egg. You have to open 3 individual pouches, crack the egg, stir, zap for bit, stir again, then zap more. Plus add seasoning because why not. Anyways, definitely just buy a bunch of cubed ham or sausage plus veggies and use a coffee mug 👍🏼

      Kate Westley it’s actually a huge convenience for those of us who don’t have time for breakfast at all and are on a tight schedule in the mornings. This is the first breakfast item I have found that actually works for my husband and I when I don’t have time to make our usual sit down breakfast and have to eat on the run. It’s a lot better than eating granola bars on the run and if you can find them cheaper it’s well worth it in the time it saves us. This is made for busy lifestyles. Obviously if you are not in a rush in the morning there is not as much need for it, but for us it is very much worth it and still cheaper than grabbing breakfast outside

      I agree $2.50 is a bit much and he did say it in the video at the end. Better off slicing some cheese, eggs, pepper onions and bring the egg to work. Zap it in a cup. Cost would be most likely be 75 cents! But people are lazy and in a hurry and would pay $2.50 for 75 cents worth of stuff.

After eggs and other ingredients are cooked I'll put cheese on top, microwave for 30 sec, let melt and enjoy. About 3 minutes total. Thanks for your video.

    Excellent review.....agree with your assessment and most of the good follow-on comments. But aside from the cost and significant plastic crap.....at “oh dark thirty” and 5 below with a driveway to snowblow and shovel.....this provided a nice, convenient, tasty AND hot meal to get me going with some coffee. I have done these “homemade” before using a mug...but as I use two eggs, add either a little mayo, olive oil, cream or butter....and significantly more ingredients, mine are significantly more tasty, filling and more calorie rich and fattening. So aside from the guilt over the damned plastic heading for a landfill, I thought it “pretty good”. I’m training for an Appalachian Trail through hike this spring....and really watching my calories to further reduce my weight....at 64, I don’t burn ‘em like I used to.....still, I’m kinda wondering the impact of adding two eggs.....aside from additional 72 calories. Bravo Zulu on this video, amigo!

      you have to realized the potatoes and peppers are already cooked. The short cooking time in the microwave is not long enough to cook them. So you will need to take time to cook those ingredients. So actually this saves time and money.

  • @TentLiving
    @TentLiving 5 лет назад +2

    Thank you for the video it was very useful.
    It does not seem very convenient. Seems like you could almost buy all the ingredients separately and make the same concept a lot cheaper. I think it's also funny how you still have to provide the egg. 270 calories plus the calories of the egg. Not sure but I think a egg is somewhere between 70 and 80 calories. That would be terrible if the egg broke while you were taking your lunch/breakfast to work

    • @abbyb1481
      @abbyb1481 5 лет назад

      Mega Gaming Plus you can just keep a carton of eggs at work. I rather have the freedom to choose what kind of egg to use or whether I want a whole egg or egg whites or for those who use egg beaters rather than have some powder rubber egg that comes from who knows where. I would prepare this as I’m heading out the door to work to eat on the go rather than taking it to work to prepare there. It works for people who don’t have time to make breakfast in the mornings and need something protein packed that’s still an actual meal that can be made quickly before heading out the door. That’s what this is made for. This is the first breakfast item that works for my husband and I who are constantly on the go

    It looks like a nice product, having everything portion controlled and ready to cook. I think I would prefer to cook it in my little non-stick "egg" pan, though, perhaps with a bit of ghee. I'm not so keen on the microwave oven. The alternative would be to prepare little tubs of these ingredients and then use them throughout the week, which isn't a bad idea, either.

    • @diogeneslantern18

      Honestly no need to - you can buy McCain flash frozen veggies of your choice (like roast veg, or sweetcorn/carrots/peas etc) as will as freeze a ziploc bag of cherry tomatoes and a cured sausage like cabanossi. When you're ready just dump all the ingredients in a mini sauce pan (3-4 inch depth and diameter) along with 2 eggs. Breakfast done in by the time it takes to brew coffee and it is preservative free.

    For the money, At Walmart you can get a Jimmy Dean Bowl, twice the size of this, that is frozen with egg, meat cheese and potatoes for $2.00. Takes 2 minutes, then peel plastic and cook 1 more minute. Way better. If you want more sophisticated, they make a Premium bowl for $3.00 that has stuff like peppers, chorizo, cilantro etc - and so does Moe's Southwest Grill. For me it is worth the extra buck, and the Moe's is extraordinary. All in the same size bowl.

    If someone is looking for savings over convenience, they are already going to be making their own food. You can't expect gourmet for two and a half bucks, and microwave.

    Yea the one that comes with the egg mixture seems to taste a bit off, not terrible, but just doesn't feel like real egg.

      DavoneTheDon that's what worries me lol. You can. You can actually make fluffy eggs that taste just as good as in the pan.

    Just Crack an Egg? More like: Just peel off the lid, then dump out three packages of ingredients, then peel open the package of ham and dump it into the bowl, then peel open the package of veggies and dump it into the bowl, then peel open the package of cheese and dump into the bowl, then crack and egg and dump it into the bowl, then stir, then place in microwave and cook for 40 seconds, then stir, then place back in microwave and cook for 30 seconds, then stir, then let sit for one minute to cool. It's not as convenient as the name implies.

      nobodyhasthisyet seriously? Would you expect to literally just crack an egg and have a safe meal to eat? You make all the steps sound so hard... OMFG...you mean I need to do stuff?! Ughhhhhhh....

    • @pkwiva
      @pkwiva 6 лет назад

      Lol I know. I was just being facetious. However, I really did think it would be slightly easier than this. I thought you would just be able to open the lid, crack the egg, dump it in the bowl of ingredients and microwave it. I didn't realize they packaged all the ingredients separately.

    • @savemeaseatonthebus

    I think most adults will need two to fill them up....Too time consuming, (if you have a short lunch break), and pricey. O.K. taste, but not worth the effort. (IMO)

      London2362 I just made these for the first time this morning and made two for my husband and I using two eggs each before leaving for work in less than 10 minutes and added some extra seasonings. Doing 1 wouldn’t take more than 5 minutes tops. Most frozen meals take that long in the microwave.

    • @London2362
      @London2362 5 лет назад

      @@abbyb1481 ..Four (total) eggs for one meal is seriously unhealthy, (and none of my business, I know.) I only get 30 minutes for lunch, so I'm only left with about 10 minutes to eat after cooking, and don't forget resting time. Plus it cost three bucks a piece, so 6 dollars...That was my only point...Thanks Abby
