I am the proud owner of an actual Fender Stratocaster with a plastic gasket behind the neck plate. It is a standard Strat purchased new in 1989 from a Fender dealer in Maine. If I have one, there must be more out there. In this case, though, the guitar you are working on is obviously a Squier. Just thought you should know about the plastic gasket on my Fender.
Good information on those who are considering a scalloped neck on their guitar. Looks like this is the second neck swap for your customer. That Warmoth neck is really nice but I would have kept the locking tuners. Enjoyed the video.
The plastic piece on the backing plate is meant to be used on basswood bodies. The wood is great, plenty of sustain but it dents ridiculously easy. Hence the reason for that plate gasket.
I've done this sort of stuff with the Jackson 7 string of mine. It's a js22. I've put more than double the original value in parts in it. And it is a monster! It was my first project platform and it turned out so well! Tone ninja locking tuners, graphtec nut and saddles. Seymour Duncan pickups. I don't remember the brand name of the pots, input jack, and selector switch, but they weren't the $0.25 models.
I recently discovered Warmouth is in Wa. State. I live about a hour away from where it is. I wondered about going to see if they had factory 2nts Maybe cosmetic mistakes for a good price. One of these days I'll have to go out there maybe see about a tour.😁👍
I'm looking forward to getting a conversion neck for my Fender player Tele, 1 5/8" nut width, narrow tall frets, 10" radius, this neck will fit my Hobbit hands better, I just haven't pulled the trigger.
lets say I bought a squire... and wanted to put a warmoth replacement neck on.. are the holes drilled by warmoth expected to fit into a squire by fender? Or am I supposed to drill them my self?

My mim tele and strat have those.

Why didn’t he just put the Fender locking tuners on the replacement neck? He could have ordered the neck drilled for those to easily drop in.

That neck probably cost more than the rest of the guitar.
Guaranteed.
For the Warmoth neck I want and UPS shipping to Hawaii it's $540 but if you have the neck you like, it's worth it.
The conversion necks have a side truss rod adjustment.

This was Hilarious! A lightly toasted Dude showing us how NOT to do a neck replacement.😂
Why NOT to do a neck replacement? What went wrong?
Earvana nut? Is it smart to buy a pre installed nut?
The nut slot heights are relative to the fret heights.... So I really don't see why you need the guitar body to properly install a nut.

I think you have to drill that yourself.
@@ZIMMSGUITARS Did you drill the holes for this one?
This guy failed shop class
Are you saying 'highth'?
Halfway through the video and I still don't understand what the hell you're doing
