Hey Van I installed this on my 2019 R6 with a Two Brothers S1R slip on exhaust and my check engine light is still on. Do I need to get the code error reset by someone? Or did I get a defected module?
Same with my 18 r6. In reading through other comments is sounds like it just needs to be hooked up at a shop to have the code removed and then it'll be set.
Since owner hasn’t replied....have you guys tried disconnecting the battery for 30 mins to reset the whole bike? No joke either. Most of the time you disco the battery for certain period of time and will reset
It's probably not working. I built my own servo box and the light went away right after plugging it in. Go to the r6 forums to see how to build one. Easy, smaller and super cheap
I’m confused. I installed a full system yesterday but the guy I got it from already had a slip on with the servo removed but no light was on. I removed the o2 sensor and now have a light. Does the servo buddy fix this as well?
Hi Brian. I have ordered full exhaust system m4 for yahama r6 2017. And exhaust comes with one hole of oxygen system and my bike has two oxygen it’s doesn’t fit. What Am i has to do?
Do I have to install a servo buddy if I have a Akrapovic slip-on which bought from your website on my 2019 Yamaha r6? Or it's just for full system exhaust?
That will depend on which slip on you are installing. If it is the Akra slip on in this link: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/akrapovic-yamaha-yzf-r6-2017-slip-on-exhaust/ it has an exhaust valve in it and you will not need the servo eliminator. If you are installing one that does not have a valve in it you will need the servo eliminator. Here is a link to that on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/skutrnet-yamaha-yzf-r6-02-17-exhaust-servo-buddy/ - Van
I was thinking of getting a servo for my ‘12 R6. I had it flashed last year and had check engine light on since as well as code 43 so I know I probably will in fact have to get that turned off by mechanic; However is there any possibility it would be cleared by installing the servo?
For a 2012 you should not need to take the bike in to have the code cleared. The servo should clear that up as long as there is not another problem. 2016 and up are the bikes where you will need to have the code cleared. - Van
on my 2009 Yamaha R6 i installed an akropovic slip on with stock everything. I removed the cables but i’m pretty sure i left the Servo still in the bike. i rode like that for about 2 months in the fall and i didn’t have any check engine light or throw any codes on the dash. I recently just installed a FULL M4 exhaust and was wondering do i still need to buy this Servo Buddy Eliminator?
Hi , i got the same bike, changed the muffler only , but i didnt remove / disconnected the servo unit, bike its way more slow than the original muffler, its because of that? or i should reflash the ECU ?
@@sportbiketrackgear Sc project s1 low mount, slip-on only not full system! got no servo buddy installed! i lost a lot of low-end power because of the servo unit disconnected. What im askin is , if i install the servo buddy i gain it back? tricking the ECU? or i have to flash it?
I have an 06 r6 50th anniversary, I bout a servo eliminator from healtech before seeing this video. I put it on yesterday because I plan on removing my catalytic converter soon and doing a full system exhaust. Currently I have no pip after the cat. Today my bike started acting super sluggish and chugging. Until I got home and placed the original unit back on with the cables still disconnected cause I have no muffler. Will this be an issue once I put the full exhaust on or will I need a power commander to fix it when I install a full system
The bike will run great with the full system installed with or without a Power Commander or ECU flash. Doing either of them will improve the performance of the bike. - Van
Hi guys, I just bought my r6 2019, I will remove the exup soon. Does this product serve? if the light turns on before or only works if I install it when removing the exup and before starting the bike. regards guys, thanks.
You need to install this after you remove the servo motor BEFORE you start the bike so you do not turn check engine light on. If you do turn on the light you may need to go to the dealer or use the FTECU OBDII adapter and a scan tool to clear the code. - Van
Does this automatically turn the check engine light off once u connect it or is there something else that needs to be done. I just installed mines today on my R6 and the light is still on?
If you have ridden the bike with the exhaust servo removed and the light came on you may need to get the code cleared. Try disconnecting the battery for about 30 seconds and see if this works. We installed this servo on the bike in this video with no issues at all so I know this works. Did you install block off plates or anything else when you did the exhaust? - Van
Sportbike Track Gear no sir just install the exhaust. I tried the cables off battery and still nothing. But I will take to shop to have them check it out
I am new to this and wondering if this is an alternative to a Power commander and if so what the pros and cons might be over going one way instead of the other. When I install my M4 exhaust I’ll do this job at the same time.
Yes there is, you can reprogram the OEM ECU using kits from FlashTune. We offer 2 kits for the R6 on our site, the Bench Tune Kit is what I prefer to use because it allows you to remove the ECU and program it at your PC. The Bike Side Kit needs to be done with the ECU still in the bike. Below are links to both options: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/flashtune-ecu-type-18-bench-tuner-kit-yamaha-yzf-r6-2017/ www.sportbiketrackgear.com/flashtune-ecu-type-8-bike-side-tune-kit-yamaha-yzf-r6-2017/ This is a great option for the R6 IMO. - Brian Van
Don't waste your money yes this will work but you can build one of these for literally only a few bucks. Looks on the forums for like "diy r6 servo hack" I think it's what it was. You can unplug the servo and it may throw a code within a minute to maybe an hour. I tested it that way just to see what I would be getting in to beforehand. it'll stay on until you plug it back in, or plug in the servo hack box you create. And the one I made for my '09 is only the size of the connector piece in this video. Less shit you gotta tuck away
This will not work for any of the newer ODBII bikes. If you set a code on any of them you will need a scan tool or a dealer to get the code cleared. - Van
Does this work after the check engine light is on? I was coming home from work and code 18 popped up having to do with the exup valve. If i get this and install it will that solve the issue?
Depends on the year of the bike. Pretty sure if it is 2017 and up you will need to use a scan tool to clear the codes even if you install the servo buddy. - Van
Tips: take the whole tank off so you can install a upgraded air filter the same time and makes removing the servo motor easier!
For sure if you plan to do a filter it would be best to do both jobs at the same time. - Van

Could I just remove the cables and leave the servo motor plugged in?

Not when I show you how to do it for free. - Van

You will need this if the exhaust you are installing eliminates the exhaust valve and servo motor to keep the light off on the cluster. - Van
