External, after market gauges like this aren't designed to measure the level of propane in the tank. They're designed to measure pressure which will remain constant until the propane is nearly exhausted. The gauge will indicate a full tank until it's nearly exhausted, at which point the indicator will very quickly drop into the yellow and then red regions.

Expert Grill, Grill Master, and a few more name brands sell this same fuel gauge made by the same manufacturer. They're exact so whichever is cheapest is the best deal.
Thorough research went into this info.

Need to check the gauge with soapy water in case it’s defective. I have a new one and it leaked. That’s how I found gas was leaky. Soapy water will keep you alive.

pretty nice to have to know how much propane you have in your tank! but the scary thing is the price > They do work very good Get caught in the fitting war like me 3/8 to 1/4" old style new style. High pressure low pressure ITS NEVER ENDING > Then they got to change out the valve> HERE WE GO AGAIN when you buy the adapter Might as well get the gauge with it> IT's worth it Your looking at less 16 bucks same price for a regulator, hoses, and fitting

Klay and Tom, please redo this video. We could use this information but you MUST, you MUST have somebody else hold your camera. I couldn't finish the video the angles were so bad...

Maybe next video you make, you can stand off to the side so we can see what you're doing

Could you really not figure out what he was doing during the time that he blocked the camera? I'll break it down for you...
      1. Turn off propane
      2. Disconnect grilll from propane
      3. Connect gauge to propane
      4. Connect grill to gauge
      5. Turn on propane
Those were the five detrimental steps you missed while he blocked the camera.
God only knows what you must be thinking when you're required to close the lid while grilling, "what's happening in there, what's going on! I can't see!"
You really couldn't figure that out? Dear Lord...

@@slackert9x it’s a basic video, ever think maybe some people haven’t seen gauges or how to connect them? WTF would anyone watch a video like this otherwise? I think we’ve found the Dip Wad. No one cares about your comment Shirley.

Use soap water to find fine leaks with bubbles now, while full. Other than that, "those kinds" of gauges ALL screw up. If you want to use a hand held scale to lift up the tank & see by weight how ACTUAL LIQUID is left, do it that way.

Hill Shepherd really? So I shouldn’t buy one? I have a Weber that has a “weight” gauge but showed 1/4 but it was empty so I don’t know if it’s accurate either

Sir this could have been an excellent video but your camera angles blocked the view of what you were doing. Have someone else hold your phone/camera while you perform the activity.
