I so agree with you I mean everyone even the ones whom said they will never buy nor fix one are building one.

Seeing the shape of these vehicles messes with me some times, but I am SO glad there is a market getting these projects to people and recycling them. This keeps things going and that is awesome!

How quickly is a motorcycle considered to be totalled? Really would like to race on a track one day when I have my motorcycle license but unfortunately insurance stopped covering for crashes during a race. For obvious reasons😂 (In the Netherlands it used to be an option) I don't mind fixing the damage but I would probably avoid racing if it gets totalled easily from a crash.
gon be honest I never comment but I want to thank you, Its been a journey since I bought and rebuilt a Kawasaki 650, and I'm planning so much more. Keep in mind I'm only 17 but this video inspired me and I just wanted to say thanks.

Should be interesting to see you progress with this. As someone else said, that rear sprocket is past done. I would never buy a bike with one worn like that, and that chain is beyond redemption. The rust will have done too much damage already. Just spring for a new Did chain and hardened front and rear sprockets. White panels and red frame and wheels? Awful. If you don't paint the red bits (assuming you don't need to) go black with the panels. The tank is also toast. Way cheaper to replace. Get the engine out, drained re-filled and tested. It's where the most hidden damage will be, if you are lucky it will be OK. But just get all the timings, gaps etc checked. Replace any parts in the engine you can get to that might need to be on service. Cheaper to do it all once than have the labor cost to revisit them later. Frame, wheels, suspension,forks, fork trees, brakes all look good. Score to you. Give it some new boots.

LOL!!!!! Determines that the frame is straight without doing any measurements or using a jig. Determines that forks are good by looking at the lower bracket position in relation to the frame head. The only way you can tell if the forks are good is by pulling them off and at a minimum rolling them to make sure that the lowers are not bent. If the wheel bent the radiator it is likely that the forks have a slight bend in them or the head angle is off.
You'll soon discover how expensive new OEM Ducati parts are. Hell, even OEM for Japanese bikes are pricey. But im sure you can find a lot of parts used. As long as the frame or swingarm isn't bent, the bike can be rebuilt no prob.

Bikes like that easy money! Drop the engine out with the harness and all, strap it to a small pallet, list on ebay for up to 4G, quick easy money. People love these engines for small buggies and all sorts of projects
I just finishing up a 2003 cbr954RR. Previous owner didn’t take care of the bike. The whole engine is rebuild from the top to bottom. Waiting on my new tires and she is all ready to go.

Oem colors, custom just looks tacky IMO, custom goes out of style but OEM is always in demand.
I rebuilt my Aprilia RSV factory with this level of damage! Or so I thought till I got all the new kit on and the wheel was touching the fairing!!! Turned out hidden under the tank was the cracks in the bent frame, which I then had to reframe as it was far to far gone!
I now have a excellent Aprillia RSV Factory that has sublime handling and goes like a stabbed rat!!

Nice bike! Wont be long before its ripping down the street. If your going to sell it i would keep stock colors. If its for you then the colors you prefer, in my opinion anyway.

Yes it is safe I got a good deal on a 2006 Kawasaki ZZR600 and it runs and ride just damaged body work panels and get this it's my first bike

2012 - looks like a skid on the tracks. I am worried that the top radiator got such damage from what it looks like the front wheel, that means the bike hit something in the skid, maybe it was on a track and it hit the guard rail.... Colors? If you want to resell keep the original colors on it.
Already got aftermarket parts on it so I vote do a color change.

I found damaged front end 1098,doesn't worth buying it and fix it?
At that price I could see it being worth it to part it out on Ebay or something. But to rebuild back to OEM condition I can't imagine will be cheap. Italian motorcycle parts are "normally" expensive and hard to find.

I needed two new wheels and a new windscreen and shroud on a 2009 ducati 848 after i went all Evil Kinevil over a curb doing 90km/h and the amount came to $7000 Aussie dollars. Lucky insurance paid for it 😀

Looking at the damage, it still boggles my mind how the accident occurred.. Cuz it hit almost everywhere !
Hopefully none of the electronics are damaged and you got a key or it could go into a mode where it won't do anything until you get the ignition programmed to the new electronics. I passed on a 748 because of that issue. Would have cost as much as the bike was worth for a working computer and ignition

That POS got rolled/flipped over several times. You can say its good, but the frame if it’s tweaked even 1mm (.03937”) that bike will handle like crap and eat tires. Its still going to have a “SALVAGE” TITLE!! I love that “chain needs some lube” like some lube is going to help that rusted hunk of crap weenie bike.
