Sentinel is so strong simply for the fact that they have answers to everything and tech armor is pretty broken if you get the version that explodes when destroyed

Putting engineer is D is pretty unreal I beat all 3 games on insanity with very little effort as a engineer

"It's so boring and annoying to switch through ammo types in combat"
That's honestly not something that I've ever even thought of. Generally, I take Warp Ammo as a bonus power, and go thusly; am I fighting Krogan? If yes, use Incendiary. Am I fighting mechs or Geth? If yes, use Disruptor. For everything else (especially Collectors 😍) use Warp. Expecting multiple enemy types? Slap Disruptor on Shotgun to double down on shield strip, Warp on Sniper, and whatever you prefer on Assualt Rifle and Pistol. You now basically have the Biotic Warp power, Tech Overload power, AND the Tech Incinerate power, all while having all the guns (ME2 specific).
And that's without mentioning the single greatest reason for playing a Soldier in ME2 - the Mattock. Adrenaline Rush and Hardened Adrenaline Rush allow you to fire the Mattock in slow-time just as fast as you can in normal-time. Highest DPS in the game; no other class can come close. If there's an S rank in ME2, it's Soldier, Infiltrator is 2nd, but the gap between them is wiiiide. Soldier deserves a tier of its own.
Now, ME3... Soldier sucks. It really does. I tried it, hated it, tried Sentinel, and now it's hard for me to play anything else in ME3 because of the niggling feeling that I could be doing whatever I'm doing so much better if I was playing a Sentinel

Also, the slow-down of Infiltrator combined with the Widow is a devastating combo, true - but the Infiltrator isn't the only class that can do it. Soldier has a more versatile slow-down that works with all guns, and since Mattock-time is your best Assault Rifle option, you're free to pick Widow, so they can do it too. A Soldiers burst damage might not be as high, but their sustained DPS blows Infiltrator away - and still has amazing options when you run out of Sniper ammo; something the Infiltrator can't boast

Also, I should clarify something I said - in ME2 I generally pick my ammo types at the start of the mission and don't change them - since powers share a cooldown timer, I don't want anything interfering with my Adrenaline Rush spam.
Is it boring? Well, that depends on whether you think 2 Varren, 4 Vorcha, and a Krogan in about 6 seconds is boring. Personally, I love the overpoweredness of the Bullet Blender

Cyro blast me2 on engineer isn't worthless
Strip Shields with overload, armor with incinerate
Use cyro blast (only need 1 pt) with shrunken after stripping defenses to finish people off
Mind you it isn't as good a choice as squad cyro ammo, but that's 10 points

I think this guy has little expirence with engineer class, I've beat all 3 games on insanity as a engineer and way easier then with alot of the other classes, he clearly doesn't know how to use a engineer properly

Fun video. Recently started an LE trilogy playthrough on insanity as infiltrator femshep (first time with both). I have to say I didn't really like infiltrator in ME1, although it certainly was pretty powerful. The snuper rifles in that game just feel weird to shoot.

Oh they definetly do feel weird, but the effectiveness can't be overstated. In fact I'd go as far as to say all the guns don't feel particularly great in ME1 - just a result of the game being so old. LE definetly adds quite a bit of punch to them and sorta improves the situation but enemies barely react to being shot.
