This brings back fond memories of when we built our camper out of a 1950’s style milk truck. Just enough for my father to take camping for the night. We repurposed everything, an old soda vending machine for the fridge and a propane 2 burner and a lot of creative ideas. My mother made the bunk cushions totally by herself because the bunks were small. I remember helping her stuff polygon into them. All done by hand with minimal hand tools and hard work. That was 1970 and still brings back memories after seeing this. Enjoy your time and your kids will remember this forever

It's incredible that someone can look at a school bus and visualize it as a mobile home..but it's wonderful..
This would have been pre-planned. Nobody could just haphazardly do this creation to such precision!?

You KNOW it took a lot of measuring.
I can imgine it, doubt if i could do it and definately not to this quality.

I was so drawn in I couldn’t even focus on my laundry while watching this Amazing transformation! Looks very cozy and intimate. This project was nicely done! It turned out Extremely Beautiful! 👌🏾👍🏽👍🏽

This was probably the most enjoyable, RV renovation from a bus I have ever watched. Excellent job on sectioning the roof and raising it. It looks amazing!

А что делать у нас. Первое горючки немерено будет жрать, плюс категория д, плюс коммерческий транспорт за который будут драть. У меня газель категория В, задолбался ругаться с носителями погон. Все мерешется категория В1.
А ещё такая переделка это внесение изменений в конструкцию. То ещё преключение.
Опять же вернёмся к моей газели, хотел автобус брать,дешевле стоят. 100км перегон домой потом ещё столько же но уже в область что б снять сиденья и стоимость плюс 55к. У нас только в В1, что б просто В плюс ещё 20ка и гнать в Подмосковье.
Вот такое веселье у нас в стране. Поэтому лучше пиво пить и смотреть как чего то люди делают😡

Your bus looks great except for one thing, when you put the sheet metal on the sides, I think it would of been better to start at the back and overlap your sheet metal panels going forward that way when you’re driving in the rain, it won’t get under the panels even with the panels sealed with silicone. That’s my two cents worth. But great bus!

Agreed. And the entry door and exterior paint choice were a bit off, but on the whole they did a very good job. A lot of time and energy went into that.

I fine the bus tranformation was Perfect!👌 I wonder much it cost tho? 🤔🤷 But the only for me...I fine,the couple should of paint up the bus outside in a nice color to blend in and fit in so nobody won't believe it's actually a house on a bus.🤔😏 Is only when you get invited to visit then you should realize it's a house on a bus!😉🤫

Wow that's a excellent idea refurbishing an old school bus. Here in Southern California where rents are astronomical High people who can't afford paying high rents are going to start buying these old commercial school buses and converted into mobile homes. Thanks for the great video.

It all looks like old 70s style design build on a really tight budget. Meticulous is not a word I would use with this build.
And not very well planned, either; The tiles will be on the floor after it goes over the first railroad crossing. Looks like they did it to sell it and don't care how long it lasts.
I was blown away by how detailed u were an of all that I've seen on RUclips thus far..you're head above the rest!
Beautiful new home on wheels! I don' t know if I could have resisted using some type of sunroof for that angled lifted front you made ,but it turned out good.

в России такое транспортное средство не допустят к эксплуатации.
да и правильно сделают, какое же это транспортное средство, первое и самое главное - это то, что гипсокартон развалится от скручивающих нагрузок на кузов автомобиля, там 12 метров длина рамы и между колесами метров 9 точно, при движении однозначно будут скрипеть все деревянные соединения, а гипсокартон и плитка отвалятся, там всё держится на профильной трубе. короче это не ездок, это так, поставить на пеньки под мостом задним и под передней осью, чтоб не качался при ходьбе внутри, во дворе и использовать как доп метры жилья

How much weight did the bus gain? Then again It's designed to carry the weight of a load of people 👍🏻
The GVWR of a bus that size is 36K lbs, so I think they are good!
@@elizabethsteen581 I think the question isn't about road weight, but about the extra weight on the suspension, drive train, and engine. A school bus isn't designed to carry all of that extra weight. I think the question about extra weight is an excellent one.

the first time I saw school bus transformed to a mobile home was 1966. A schoolmate's father was a shop teacher and did it with help over summer vacation

PersonallyI would have used aluminum studs where I could and pvc wall in several areas to avoid the excessive weight added from wood and tiles. Otherwise awesome project
When mixing materials, aluminum and steel will make corrosion where they meet, although with some creativity they could fasten aluminum partitions to wood firing strips for isolation.
@@GoTech18 Based on the last time I worked on a factory built RV, I'd say he's easily got twice as much insulation.
I was also wondering about the additional weight of all of the improvements. I guess they made it work since it was driving down the road.
@@justjulee9135 if you think about the weight, the bus was built for 40 adults or 60 kids, so roughly 8,000 pound payload. (4 tons) Do you think the additions add up to that? If you throw in 100 gallons of fresh water and 100 gallons of grey water (poly tanks) that's only 1,600 pounds if they are both full. Say 2,000 worth of lumber and another 1,000 in people with baggage. I think they are ok on the total weight.

But I hope this people enjoy their hard work

@@PandoraBear357 if the bus can handle the weight then it has to be far less than what a semi can haul. So the legality of the this busses weight on the road should be fine. That’s my point. Why you tryna be a smartass?
Wow incredible transformation! I’m not a fan of the paint job and color but the inside of the bus is beautiful.
Really nice. The raising of the ceiling made it go to new levels. Preferably a line or two to lighten up the white exterior.

Он в домашних условиях создал на коленки можно сказать с помощю палки и верёвки то что на заводах годами проектируют и уних не получаеться так.

My aunt June and uncle Walt in the late 70's took a bus and did the same thing but, uncle Walt did it all himself. Turned out awesome, they lived in St. Charles, Illinois at the time and I had moved to Texas as I had just went into high school, I don't know what happened to it, but he worked on it every chance got, also working full time at Firmi Lab.

The tile in the bathroom could, due to flex while moving, cause issues down the line. Loss of adhesion of tile and degradation of caulking allowing water damage. Sheets of Corian with flexible kitchen/bath caulk, or lighter prefab 1 to 2 piece units.
