Bless her heart, I know exactly how she feels. I’ve had psoriasis since I was nine years old , I am 61 years old now, twice I was treated at Stanford University as an inpatient for 2 weeks and one time at UCLA as a outpatient. My last bad outbreak, I went back to Stanford as an outpatient. I have psoriatic arthritis and am now 99% clear of plaque. Thank God for my Rheumatologist we tried several medication’s before we found Taltz not only is it helping with my arthritis but it has cleared my skin. Taltz is a once a month clicker shot and that’s it 😄Sending sweet Charlotte hugs and much love.❤
Bless you Stacy! I have psoriasis for about 15+ years and I'm 26 now. It got so bad this year that I had to try medication and my doctor gave me Taltz, too. And wow, rigth after the first injection it almost disappeared completely! I feel so much better now...no more pain, no more itching, normal skin looks and I don't have to clean the floor from skin scales!:)
I’m seriously glad you’re having a good journey on taltz. It was helping me too but the fight I had to put up for hours with insurance on the phone to get the shot every month became unbearable considering I work 40 hours a week. So now I’m back to square one im taking one more crack at it. I’d honestly rather insurance deny coverage and let me use the savings program
Psoriatic arthritis is the worse mine was triggered from the Pfizer Covid vaccine back in couldn’t walk slept and woke up crippled new years 2022 so basically forced to get a extreme flare up thanks to the government
My father had psoriasis for many years just like her. He went to so many doctors and some didn’t charge him because they said they learned so much by just talking to him. He would soak in the tub every day until the scales were gone and then rub a cream into the patches. I don know what was in the cream, he mixed it himself. I know he bought several things at the drug store. He even had it in his finger nails. He died at 86 and how I wish he would have had this medication. He donated to the psoriasis foundation in hopes that someday their research would find a cure❤
I have psoriasis as well. I only got diagnosed a month ago. I was so excited to learn there was a name for what I had. Seeing this young lady after 8 weeks of meds gives me hope. Thank you for sharing this information.
I had a bad psoriasis patch on the back of my left calf muscle for a long time. One of my Co workers always asked if I got badly burned there. Finally about 6 years ago when I was 37, I saw a Dr about it. She put me on a steroid ointment called Betamethasone. After about 4 months it cleared right up. Same with my knuckles. This poor girl does not deserve to go through that hell
So sorry she has to go through this. It not only looks bad. It feels bad too. It itches and burns, cracks and bleeds. I have arthritis have for years, but I have been through some really bad stressful events. Along with severe depression anxiety and panic attacks. I had scales and flakes from head to toe. And I mean everywhere. Finally dermatologist diagnosed me. Started me on shots ,but the ones I was using were making me have prickly heat rash. So we started me on clobatozole ointment for itch, and oral med called OTEZLA. It worked most places but not on my arms and fingers, inside ears, so they started me on a different shot skirizi and both the shot and pill hold the psriosis at bay. I have scars from the psriosis lol over. And I do get breakouts because sometimes I go without my meds, because my INS changed it's formula every year so what's covered this year may not be next year. My quality of life did change a little. But now not leaving my house because I look like I have some contagious skin disease ,I can't leave the house because of severe ,every 10 mins or so,diherria - that is a side effect of the meds. God bless this girl.
I have psoriasis and when it used to flare up, I'm on meds now, it felt like a hot iron on my skin. It's incredibly painful. I'm glad I found meds that work for me. Even if they are $25,000 a month. (thank God for assistance)
I started getting psoriasis after I had a break down. Used to get it on my elbows, knees, scalp, behind my ears and started to get patches on my sides. Had it for years, then last November I was diagnosed with really high blood pressure. Then over the last year I lost 6 stone in weight, the good side effect apart from losing weight and my blood pressure back to normal. My psoriasis has completely gone. Just by eating clean, just drinking water and coffee, eating fruit and veg and cutting out all the junk food.
My brother in law has severe psoriasis. What works wonders for him is putting on the medication then covering it with Vaseline. Vaseline is almost a wonder drug for him. It significantly reduces his pain too when he has a bad flair up. If he has to put a lot of Vaseline on he puts cling film over it (his lower legs & feet are where it’s the worst) so he doesn’t make his bed greasy.
It definitely can be great for dry itchy skin, since it's a skin protectant. So it's nice to hear that between the medicine and Vaseline he's having relief 🙏
having the same conditon it can be a nightmare. mine used to burn like i was touching the side off a kettle. thankfully mine was at its worse simular to this when i was younger and got it treated. still 30% of my body but now its just red skin, no pain. wish her all the best.
I suffered with psoriasis for 4 years before it was diagnosed as it was mainly in places you don’t show. My dr just said it was yeast infections and warts. It was not. I had RA for years prior to developing the psoriasis. I switched drs and started on otezla. 6 months later it’s almost completely cleared. Now being treated by a dermatologist. Such a relief not not itch all over all the time.
I’m 78 and have had it since I was 15. It comes and goes some and have been helped with steroid injections but my last outburst it didn’t work. Then I tried laser and that has helped a lot and was far less painful……in fact no pain at all.
I have psoriasis that kicks in when I'm under a lot of stress. I still get small patches, but I once had it really bad all over my back, neck & ears. It's SO hard not to pick at it.
I had psorasis what helped me was I quit eating food that has been given antibotics like pork it's the worst . beef ,, lam .. I eat sea food & ever now & then chicken not much.. no dairy like cheese ,, milk base food. that will help slow it down. I never see patches any more. good luck. hope my comment can help.
I'm so glad this person got help instead of being fobbed off and told to moisturize more, but, sadly, non-steroids or non-biologics don't usually feature in treatment. Steroids can cause additional problems and biologics can have horrible side effects. Why there is no uptake on other meds I don't know, perhaps not enough funding.
Wow a great video! Well done Charlotte for sharing your problem..thank you. The change is brilliant and I hope that it continues and you can wear short dresses. Wishing you well you beautiful girl. 🥰🥰💕💕❤️❤️❤️👍👍🐶🇬🇧
I wonder why she didn’t get treated sooner, maybe no medical plan? Poor girl, I have it too. Humira is what I take, and the company gives it to me free! Wonderful
Humira can be an awful drug for some people and can cause one to develop multiple raised bumps all over the face (I'm on a sister drug to this and have been getting these bumps along with major joint pain). It 'fixes' one thing but causes other side effects.
I’ve had psoriasis on my head for the last 40 years. I was never able to control it till now since I discovered what made it worst and that is the sweat my body produces. Since I sweat a lot from the head I need to shower 2 to 3 times a day so I can wash the sweat away from my hair and it’s been getting better since I’ve been removing the sweat. I use Dermovate cream and lotion and it’s helping out to control it now.
My daughter in Australia has psoriasis this bad. She now has subsidised two injections of a new drug once every three months and her skin is now perfect. She pays $30. But the injections cost $8,000 without the govt subsidy. Do you have this available where you are.
Not only are there biologics available in the UK but there are no copays required. The problem is the GPs who gaslight patients over the severity of the problem.
My mom had psoriasis, worst this young woman's psoriasis. Much worse. She bought herself a tanning bed and with getting herself a tan and medicine it helped clear up psoriasis about 90%, not that she didn't have flare ups, she did, but not often. She passed away in 2002..
I hate it I have it on my scalp & it’s getting really bad. I’ve taken care of it before but now it’s on my face & beard, behind my ears also my chest. I just wish it would go away forever
My daughter is 6 and she has psoriasis unfortunately since she is so young we cant give her any medication just cortisol and haven’t found any dr to really help her 😢
I have it on my elbows. They have special ointments for it. But its caused from an infection in the skin and your skin fighting itself to get rid of it
@@Jibbie49 Thank you! Was scrolling thru comments to see if anyone would mention diet. That should be the first thing to change (including cutting out sugar, dairy, and grains). The skin is a huge window into the health of the body, telling us when something's off. It's an incredible shame these dermatologists don't mention that at all.
Unrelated question -- when did we all decide that young women have to wear fake eyelashes every day? The only time I've ever worn fake lashes was for stage shows. The thought of wearing those cold irritating things all day every day sounds like a living hell.
What medicine is this? as im currently going through a flair up with psoriasis, using tons of different creams, nothing helps an its causing me bad anxiety
It's a biologic drug that comes with a bunch of other side effects (basically it suppresses your immune system, covering up the problem but not fixing it). If you're going thru a flare, I encourage you to cut out all alcohol, sugar, dairy, and gluten and add in lots of dark green veg, healthy animal fats and protein. Game changer.
And if it doesn’t itch, doesn’t hurt, but only rough skin, what should I take? My son has psoriasis, he is 10 years old.He has been receiving treatment since he was two years old. There were spots on the face, arms, knees and fingers. Then we got tired of the treatment. Now we haven’t taken anything for a long time, it’s gone on the face and knees. Only on the hands, fingers an near the eyes. And it appears more in the summer when it’s hot
I’m not a doctor. But I have psoriasis. Try changing his diet. Eliminate dairy and wheat from his diet and see how it works. I had great success with changing my diet. Also, if you’re overweight, getting to a healthy weight helps to reduce inflammation in your body. But I’m not sure if that can be approved a 10 year old.
I wish my son can have an appointment with her. He is battling with really bad eczema since 3 months old. All doctors he had been we're just giving steroid based creams.

I have found that castor oil is a good basic lotion together with a couple of drops of lavender essential oil ... heals up most topical skin problems.
