Libby is such a sweet girl. I can imagine the fear her mom had, knowing Libby's medical history & what she went through as a toddler. It's wonderful that Dr. Emma did the tests & determined that it was not cancer, & that the treatment she prescribed is helping Libby. Hugs to Libby & her mom. ❤
Cancer research will be finding cures but never the cure. Because cancer is not a disease it's either failure of cell generation (blood cancers) or an entire ever-mutating hostile organism living in you. So it'll be a forever problem, especially as people live longer and longer.
This mom is amazing, so supportive of her daughter. That awful hospital put her under unnecessary pain, but thankfully everything was ok. Keep it up mom, you're doing great, you're awesome
I'm glad this young lady is feeling and looking better. Being faced with cancer at such a young age, well, I cannot imagine what that must be like. It is nice that her mother is such a caring and kind person and so supportive of her daughter. It was a bit disturbing to hear that the other hospital suspected cancer when in fact they didn't even do a biopsy. The stress and anguish of hearing of cancer unnecessarily really is upsetting.
I love it when it's you that appears on this channel. You are not only an amazing doctor but a genuinely lovely person as I've watched you interact with and change people's lives in such significant ways.
I am so happy for this young lady. It is not permanent. In the scheme of things, two or three years of something is just a blip in time. I hope she enjoys the rest of her life.
I think that just means there's a probability it could be that. It's likely that because of her genetics she's at higher risk and they felt the need to let her know just incase. Still a scary thing to have to get though.

I feel for your mum being so worried, however, with the great news you received Im sure you can both relax now. I wish you a wonderful full life ahead Libby. Your truly a very beautiful young lady. ❤
Poor sweet girl. I had a bone marrow transplant at age 40. I always thought about the children with cancer. I just couldn’t imagine a child having cancer.
I had the same thing in 2020 it took over a year to clear up & 3 trips to dermatology for me to be told it’s a rash from my body fighting off some kind of infection I had.
Antibiotics can have effects on the skin such as being very sensitive to sunlight. I actually had a severe sunburn while in Mexico and being on antibiotics for a sinus infection. I then read the possible side effects on the prescription and it did state that this specific type of antibiotics inhibits the skin of properly reacting to sunlight while you're on it
Does anyone think it outrageous that this woman would get a letter from the hospital suggesting cancer?!?! In the first place the diagnosis was cursory and incorrect. In the second place, that is NOT how you inform a patient she might have cancer! By letter?! Astoundingly insensitive!
When I first saw the rash I said out lout (to my dog! 🤭)..... it looks like Pityriasis Rosea! Not that I'm a brain or anything - but that is what I had when I was just a couple years old than Libby. I have never heard of Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris, but I will look it up out of curiosity! Just sharing a tidbit of info.....I was first told that there was nothing they could do for my condition - that it would eventually go away. I kept saying I felt I had 'the creeping crud'! It really effects your confidence! I then had another doctor tell me that he absolutely could give me something for it, and gave me Kenalog cream. It worked like a charm, and it wasn't too long - and I was clear. I felt a weight had been lifted off of me. I now am a retired RN (on permanent disability), but I won't forget how it made me feel - several decades ago. Just wanted to share for any readers that this may impact positively, be proactive, don't give up....and hang in there!! 💕 (So very happy for Libby! 👍)
Dr. Emma did loads of tests to determine a diagnosis. It is a relief to both her mother and herself that it is definitely not cancer. Thank goodness this young girl can have some normalcy in her life.
How could the physicians prescribe her meds without taking blood at the very least 😮😢 and the spots actually look really cute on this beautiful young lady but I could see how she would want the spots done given how harsh adolescences could be. I’m glad she sort and received help.
With her medical history, their statements boggled my mind. I believe them, but I can't believe how stupid those previous doctors were to just assume they knew.
Yes that blew my mind also that no blood tests were ordered! Very strange indeed I believe. First and foremost, I'd have thought, they would want to reassure Libby and her mother by doing blood tests! Just presuming you know what it is, seems damn right ignorant to me.
My 2 yr old grand daughter has blotches like this and they said it's eczema. So it's hard to keep her clothes loose n on and having to watch what shampoo n laundry soaps to use on her. I think it's something more. She's had blood tests done
Who would make fun of a 15 year old for having a skin condition especially while she's already worried about it being secondary cancer. I'm so heartbroken that kids are so bloody mean.
As soon as I saw that rash, I knew what it was because I've also had it! Pityriasis rosea was my variant. Indeed doesn't itch at all, just kind of weird.
I noticed the camera is focusing on her mother's hair when she's interviewed. When it comes to Penicillin, I have the opposite reaction from her. But instead it's similar to her skin condition. *I'm allergic to it so my arms turns red blotches.* I couldn't catch the skin condition's name. Oh well... From Bandung, Indonesia
Communicating is a task in itself. Whoever gave mom the impression "the bottom line is T-cell lymphoma"… think very hard what that does to the patient and relatives. Don’t let that be a cliffhanger.
