    I agree with everything you say Jaden, but thought I'd add a few other things I like about it.
    1. It is light - without lens 344 g (0.76 lb / 12.13 oz), so great for travel.
    2. It is small - again great for travel.
    3. While it uses the APS-C format which is different from full frame (look it up if you want), the E lenses are cheaper and lighter, but the main goody is that you get the benefit of 1.5 magnification. I needed a better zoom lens and have just bought a Sony E 70-350mm f4.5-6.3 G OSS Lens for under £800. That's equivalent to 105-525mm on full frame. It has autofocus, OSS optical image stabilisation (less blurring) and only weighs 625g. The lightest full frame 500mm lens is 1.46kg! That low weight and OSS means that I can usually takes photos with full zoom without needing a tripod.
    4. I rarely use it but it can take RAW as well as JPEG.
    5. When it came out (2014), it claimed to be fastest autofocus camera in the world. It clearly isn't fastest any more, but that still makes it pretty good.
    I terms of simplicity I generally use A (aperture priority) with HDR for static objects, and S for moving ones.
    A6000 vs A6400...A6600. A new A6000 is less than 1/3 the price of the others. If you aren't sure I suggest you buy a new A6000, treat it carefully and then see what the more recent ones have to offer. If you want to change, sell the A6000 in good condition and you'll get a lot of your money back. Any lenses you buy will fit the new camera.
    You can of course buy used. If you do, go to the best store you can find or you'll get ripped off in terms of quality. I sold an old camera in average condition - the good stores refused to buy it from me, a cheap one was happy to give me some money!

    • @rhalfik
      @rhalfik 2 месяца назад

      I agree, don't get into full frame until you are sure you can affoard the lenses and carry them with no fatigue. The sharpest lens in the camera world is APSC.

  • @mrcheezits1

    While not often regarded as high quality lenses. The 16mm and 20mm kit lenses are fun to use. I actually have some of my favorite photos on them. They only way like 60g and a 1.4 16 ways like 400g. Makes a big difference. Lately I am not noticing a huge difference in lense qualities mainly getting the lighting right seems to be the key

    • @JadenWhite

      Yeah it’s all about the lighting, just getting out and shooting is key. I’ve seen people with the highest end cameras taking the worst photos. I still need to buy a prime lens for this camera. I can’t wait till I can!

      Honestly if you’re buying local (best way) you can make conversation then ask what people would let them go for. You can always try eBay (downside is you don’t get to see it till it arrives and taxes). Unfortunately I think there is a slight rise in popularity of the a6000 so I think even 400 you’re getting a great fun camera

    Just remember shutter count, you may just have to replace the shutter. It could happen now, in a year, or a while. Your new to you used camera may have already had the shutter replaced. I hear for sony's you usually have to send it to sony in America, some repair shops won't do it for sony, but that is what I've heard.
    I was watching so many videos on "Sony a6000 in 2024" etc. Not a single content creator mentioned shutter count.
    I went out and bought the Sony a6000, the physical condition looked pretty mint, but after 20 shutter releases, the screen showed "camera error: turn off camera then back on" but really you have to take out the battery for the error screen to go away.
    Anyways, I got my money back thankfully.
    I came from a Canon apsc dslr. Did not know or even think that shutter count is a thing or a wear and tear thing.
    For the amount that the new shutter and labor, I would might as well just got a brand new camera. I payed 500usd for the body and kit lens. Then plus new shutter. I could get an a6700 for a few hundred more..
    Keh, nor mbp show shutter count in the description, or specs. So be cautious of shutter count and issues when taking the used camera route.
    I'll buy used electronic lenses all day, but I'd think twice about a used camera body now.

    • @Pieman7272
      @Pieman7272 Год назад

      For basic videos it isn't bad and because it's light that makes it easier. There is also a dedicated video button. I don't use it for audio, but agree it wouldn't be much use if I did. There are mics that attach to the hot-shoe available. I've no idea how good they are and too expensive for me to get one in case I want to see if it's worth it!
