    I was shall I say extremely grateful that I was Kelly's drum tech for the funniest ride of my career! They are world class guys, world class musicians. Kelly was the best man at my wedding. He sung when a man loves a woman. Made ROCK MOM CRY. She adored you all
    She even has credits on 7 Wishes. Class acts. Love you and miss you all. Now go FUCKING KILL IT!!!

    During their Seven Wishes tour they came to the town I lived to play a small venue. Across the street was a decent size shopping mall. They had a Walgreens in there at the time. I was walking through the store one afternoon and Kelly was in one of the aisles. I was a Night Ranger fan and had to look twice. I said “ hey aren’t you….” Before I could finish he says “ yeah man but please don’t be too loud I’m in a hurry to get back to the hotel I’m already late “ I shook his hand and off I went. Great interview. “ YOU CAN STILL ROCK IN AMERICA “

    I'll be seeing this man and the entire incredible band in person in a few weeks. I highly encourage everyone to check out the Night Ranger site for their list of concerts coming up. Hopefully I can speak with Kelly afterwards and I'll mention how much I enjoyed this interview. Funny that Kelly was impressed that Garth Brooks knew of Night Ranger when I consider Night Ranger a million times more relevant & talented. I hear zero Garth Brooks on the radio today, but a ton of Night Ranger.

    Another good one, Joe. Kelly seems like a quality guy. I was living in San Francisco when Night Ranger hit it big; they were super, along with Journey, The J. Geils Band, Jefferson Starship - the Bay Area was a tinderbox of hot Rock 'n Roll bands. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end....

    When I see and hear a full time professional singing drummer with the history of the number of tours and concerts, I can only think of how exhausting it must have been for him. Week after week, month after month...Going full blast? Wow. He really, truly managed his mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. (One thing, he never got around to answering who his early drumming influences were...lol) Thanks for the interview, Joe. Be well and take care.

    What a pleasure it was listening to both of you gentlemen! I really enjoy hearing about what it’s truly like being in a famous band and all it’s highs and lows..Kelly seems so damn cool and sincere..A true rarity from interviews I see with other musicians and artists

    Great interview! I was 10 yrs old when Sister Christian came out. It's just one of those songs that is so good. The feeling it gives you when you hear it is larger than life. Kelly could have retired after that if he wanted to. And the video! 1982 to 1984 was such a good time for bands to be on MTV when it was still a new thing. It was established but, still fresh and the videos just kept getting better. And the coolest thing about it was it had more variety than whatever your favorite radio station was at the time. Sister Christian was in heavy rotation for a long time and I know Kelly and the boys benefited heavily from that.

    Kelly Keagy is a great drummer & vocalist. Night Ranger, especially in the beginning, was a very talented band. Watson & Gillis made a killer guitar duo. I always thought Jack Blades was underrated as a bassist. I remember Fitzgerald from Montrose when he replaced Bill Church as bassist on Paper Money. As always, another great interview Joe! Thank you for bringing it to us!!

    Whrn I was a young boy 👦 as a San Francisco native 🌁, I remember the roots of Night Ranger 🌙. Future co-founder Alan Fitzgerald was in Montrose with lead singer Sammy Hagar, who would go solo, and drummer 🥁 Denny Carmassi, who would join Heart ❤. I remember Rubicon and Alameda All Stars 🌟, where Fitzgerald, Jeff Watson and Brad Gillis played.
    Meanwhile, Journey, Jefferson Starship, Huey Lewis and the News, Greg Kihn Band, the late Eddie Money, Lindsay Buckingham in Fleetwood Mac were tearing up the Billboard charts. 😊

    Joe thanks for this video you always bring out so much out of the interview guest . Wondering your point of view of a question I have do you think some of the big stars use certain Nashville players on their records mostly they know they can whatever sound to fit the song or even maybe the player seems to be on big records and maybe hoping for some good luck with that players past success ?

    • @MusiciansHallofFameMuseum
      @MusiciansHallofFameMuseum  2 года назад +1

      Hi John… sure using great players can make or break a record. That’s why some players are session players and others are road musicians. Each have their different strong points to bring to the artist. Best, Joe
