Also that it us Bb and not A# to be completely correct. Basically it doesn't matter but harmony wise it's wrong because a 12 bar blues is I, IV, V. And a A# would be the #3 and not the 4th which would be the Bb.
Hi there. Please allow me to point out a few things that throw me curveballs here: the A# is really a Bb, as we are in the key of F. Then the first alternating bass is f-c, not f-g. Kindest regards!
It comes with practice, muscle memory and ear training. I'm a double bassist. Originally I marked the 'frets' on my bass so I could see when I was learning. Then I got rid of the marks and surprisingly I was able to find the notes.
This video is totally the wrong technique. Play it like this and you're way off, it sounds terrible. Look how marshall grant played. And yes, I do know the double bass inside and out. BTW, you need stringing up for saying Luther Perkins guitar playing is boring.
F is the key so when playing a country slap style of root and 5ths its F to C not G then Bb to F and then C to G the guitar however would play F Bb C7 , good stuff
Forgive me for saying so, Russell but the second note after F is actually C. Great introduction to rockabilly bass, though
I've just bought my first double bass a few days ago and this was a great help. Thank you!
Good luck with it
Enjoy!
Good golly, its my old mate Russell. Legend!!!
Nicely done
Muy bueno,....gracias desde Argentina.
Should be saying F to C, (not G). But nice easy one to start with.
Looking for this comment. Lol!

@@athanorcovers5790 😊
@@athanorcovers5790 1 b in the key of F…and it’s Bb…A# is found in the key of B…but hey, who cares? Let’s slap some bass!
Yes, and the "triplets" are not triplets, but "quarter - eighth-eight." Good technique and great video, but what a mess with basic theory!
Love it. Just brilliant
blows my mind, i want one
Very nice cool 🤘🤘

This helps a lot, thank you for this!
Enjoyed watching your video bug instead of A sharp, I would say B Flat because your in the key of F which the 4th is B Flat.
How do you know where to put the fingers on your left hand without frets?

Howdy, What strings are you running on that doghouse?
Hi how are things?
What strings do you have on the double bass?
Sounds very good
Awesome.
Video is great for Beginners, but excuse me Russel the 5th of F is C ,not G and the Subdominant move goes to Bb not A#
There are no #'s in F Major😂😂😂
It seems Russ did make an error judging by all the comments here 😅
B flat my friend, NOT,
A sharp.
It's not F - G - your playing F - C - F is on the D string and the C is on the A string. at least, that's what your playing...
Don’t say A sharp in the key of F. It’s B flat, and you should know that!
