- I'd been working on this song for an awful lot of time, so when I finally completed the lyrics and found a (spectacular) singer, I couldn't believe my eyes! My absolute favorite Disney song with my lyrics... hope you like it!
So it is with the greatest honor that I present to you... roll the drums...
my Italian adaptation of "Parte di Me" (A Part of Me)
Sung by the wonderful and sweet Sognatrice Delle Favole @sognatricedellefavole1202 who was so kind to lend her perfect voice to this mermaid we both love so much! Grazie di cuore ❤️

"La Sirenetta" è uno dei miei film Disney preferiti in assoluto, ed aver dato la mia voce ad Ariel, che è essa stessa uno dei miei personaggi Disney preferiti in assoluto ed in cui mi rispecchio tantissimo, mi emoziona e mi commuove profondamente..... Cantare, poi, questo tuo magnifico adattamento del testo, realizzato così eccellentemente, accuratamente e professionalmente, immerso nell' atmosfera dell' intera scena in modo a dir poco perfetto, è stata una vera gioia ed ispirazione. L' enorme lavoro che c' è stato dietro è ammirevole, e l' enorme passione con la quale è stato creato si percepisce tutta, è anche e soprattutto ciò a rendere così assolutamente viva ogni singola sua parola! Un incredibile professionista, con il quale è stato incredibile collaborare. Sono veramente troppo, troppo felice del risultato finale di questo progetto..... Questo brano è il mio preferito in assoluto di tutti i classici Disney, quindi riesco a capire bene le intense emozioni che hai provato nel cantarlo, dal momento che le ho provate anch'io nel lungo processo di stesura del testo.
Vedere questo progetto finalmente completato è stato un traguardo magnifico, ed è grazie a te e al tuo immenso talento se è stato possibile fargli prendere vita.
Ho provato a riversare il mio cuore e la mia passione in ogni verso di questo testo, e sapere che ciò traspaia in qualche modo mi rende molto contento (e, dopo il tuo commento, molto commosso😢).
Potrei non smettere mai di ringraziarti e di farti mille complimenti per il tuo enorme talento, per la tua gentilezza e la professionalità con cui hai affrontato questa collaborazione.

Absolutely loved "la so che c'è un mondo che aspetta me", "forse papà lo capirà che per me è piccolo l'oceano" and "aspetto il giorno in cui potrò lasciarmi indietro il mar gelido". Such brilliant and poetic lyrics that perfectly describe her feelings :___)
That last "parte di me" left me shook, honestly, wasn't expecting such a gorgeous ending 🥲

P.S: "mantap" means "excellent" in Indonesian
I started becoming more interested in languages after watching multilanguage vids of Disney/Anime dubs, since I was curious to see how they did in terms of voice acting/singing. Which lead me to learn about the history languages through a channel called "LangFocus"
And now, I'm planning to learn several languages!

I tried adapting songs from english to Indonesian multiple times, but they aren't really poetic or 100% fit the tempo/beat/rhytmn 🙈
@Irai ah, I see you already know some words in Italian, you'll definitely do great with all the languages you plant to learn, buona fortuna! I also got into all of this thanks to multilanguage videos and that kind of stuff, and that's honestly one of the interests that keeps me going now that I'm studying French, German and Portuguese (and more in the future!)
About writing lyrics, it ain't easy nor a fast process, and you need lots of practice to actually be satisfied with what you write down... trust me, if you saw my adaptations from five years ago, "poetic" would be the last adjective to come to your mind XD

Thank you so much! The lyrics are my own, because I've always thought the official Italian version didn't do justice to my favorite Dieney song... and the voice is Sognatrice Delle Favole's (her channel's in the description)

Grazie infinite, è stato un testo impegnativo ma ne è valsa la pena...
Sicuramente porterò altri adattamenti e ho già tante canzoni pronte. Il "problema" è che, non sapendo cantare, dovranno sempre essere video-collaborazioni, che richiedono un po' più tempo di un video normale. Ma arriveranno, prometto :)

Non mi piacciono particolarmente Lo Hobbit e Il Signore degli Anelli (non picchiarmi, per favore hahah) però so che i suoi testi sono abbastanza impegnativi quindi grazie per il consiglio, mi ci "divertirò" di sicuro :)

P.S. Se farai la Canzone di Earendi ti consiglio caldamente questi articoli Commento testuale: La Canzone di Eärendil (selezione) e L’Eärendil Dimezzato del blog I figli di feanor, e anche la Diciannovesima puntata del corso di Tolkien in inglese dedicata a Earendil della Radio La Voce Di Arda su spreaker per non cadere negli errori traduttivi di Alliata e Fatica.
P.S. In lingua originale i versi sono ottonari, con cesura a metà del verso che genera in realtà dei doppi quaternari; lo schema delle rime è A-B-C-B, ma in più c'è una rima "interna" tra la fine dei versi dispari e la metà del verso successivo: es. "In panoply of ancient kings / of chained rings he armoured him / his shining shield was scored with runes / to ward all wounds and harm from him".

Hai altri testi di Tolkien da consigliarmi? E reputi necessario mantenere la stessa identica metrica, pur trattandosi di un testo esclusivamente scritto? A primo impatto mi sembra che aggiungendo due sillabe non si dovrebbe ricorrere sempre a parole tronche 🤔
