What better way to celebrate it than with the Evil Queen's transformation? Such a beautiful scene that would fit perfectly in an old times horror movie!
I made this comparison (inspired by Princess Meg's video on the French versions: • Video ) to share my love for the 1938 dub, featuring my favorite voice actress of all times: Tina Lattanzi! Her voice is simply the perfect one for Grimhilde's madness and vanity... tell me which version you prefer!
1938:

Note that the 1938 dub uses rhyming and archaic language, which reflects the translation as well.

Per quanto preferisca la voce di Benita Martini, l'eleganza del primo doppiaggio è inarrivabile

The 1972 dub of the Evil Queen sounds like a man and i don't even think they were trying, i'd prefer the 1938 dub more because of how charming and similar it sounds to the American version.
She does have a deep voice lol
I don't think they weren't trying, but it's plain to see that the dub wasn't done at the same time of the movie. There are a lot of very good redubs that managed not to sound too detached (I'm thinking French 1962, Dutch...) but in this case the voices don't match the fairytale atmosphere of the movie at all... it almost sounds like a dub meant for TV with such a mature-sounding Snow White! But keep in mind I'm an original dub enthusiast so my preference almost always goes to the old versions XD
