I’m 2.5 weeks into my instant locs journey. I have thick hair so my hair is stiff and doesn’t feel like locs at the moment, does that change after a while? My loctician said after my first wash it’ll be more ‘normal’ but idk

But yeah they should change the name to "after hour locs" cause after hours and hours ⏳ you have locs. Okay im corny 😂
Depending on how tight the hair is crocheted, some of the stiffness may never completely go away. Trust me, I did mine with no prior experience & over tightened some of them way too much. Now I know better & even went back & combed out & re did some(I did lose length of the locs though). Some I left alone cause I didn't want to lose length & they are still stiff to this day. Of course the new growth helps them hang naturally eventually, but they are too compacted.
Love this video! When I instant Loc my clients hair, I don’t back comb. Especially for the clients who don’t want to lose their length. Some textures require it but I usually retain the Same length as their hair!
Hi i started with two strand twist 3 mongs ago so i went to get a retwist using crochet method & wanted to combine some locs so but my loctician used crochet all through from roots to tips and now it looks like instant Locs. I don’t care about the ‘loc experience. I’ve had to start over my locs twice. The famous but useless salon I went to last they did a messy job, so this is gonna be the 4th time having to do my locs. Would you advise me to do instant locs in that case?
At this point you might be better off just doing them yourself, so that you can achieve the size and look that you want. It sounds like others havent been able to help you achieve the goal you had for your hair.
Hi i started my instant locs 2/3 months ago, the problem is when i wash them they become lose/ lose shape and have to crotchet them again. Is this normal? And if so when will it stop? Also have long will it take till they loc on their own without the crotchet needle? Thanks ❤
