They ran out of material. I was shocked when I found out that for over 10 years now the manga moved at, or slower than, Berserk pace. I think there's one finished arc after Roberta's story. It's a chonker though, and it has concluded "recently", with a new arc ongoing. The author has been dealing with a lot of awful shit, I just hope he'll get through it, Black Lagoon or not.

I think black lagoon is the first show, even the first piece of media I would say that might possibly give me a bit of trauma. A lot of the characters are scary and really f**ked in the head. Revy’s yes possibly one of the most messed up backstory I’ve seen. And the themes and thoughts the characters have is what made this show really f**ked. The idea of how there are people in this world are begging for help begging to be saved in this cruel and unfair world, to the point that it’s pretty much too late to turn back. and how killing someone can really f**k your brain up and give you severe trauma and to the point that you might forget why are you even doing something. Kinda like how Roberta's was acting in Roberta’s trail of blood. The fact that these things can happen in the real world makes it very scary and dark. In fact the themes and we go from way how it was written made me question what was going on in the writer’s mind when making the story. Now you may be like “then why did you continue to watch it if you weren’t enjoying it “, well, it’s just so deep and messed up. It’s like seeing two trains about to hit each other. It’s something you don’t wanna see but that’s part of you that really really does want to see it. Now that’s not to say the show is completely depressing. If you can mostly turn your brain off you can have a lot of fun watching it. Mostly just the first season. No, let me make one thing absolutely clear. Despite what I said this doesn’t mean I’m gonna go crazy. I have no interest in committing crimes so please stop looking at me with worry eyes, thank you. It’s just a story with realistic themes.
I mean rock iskinda a trainwreck going to scary. Its dark, its fun and really entertaining, but tragic and dark. Thats good drama writing. And putting that energy to good use here productive, or let it out in that show thats not endorsing violence despite the fun. Evrtyone has a dark place, and letting that out through amessedup story instead real life, or something where no ones harmed like art or sports. Thats whyhorror is popular, to confront that healthy. I guess here too . Yes thats messed up but its healthy to confront your messedup side, everyone has, via art than. Revy and the others are a warning, not something to aspire. And yes irs a tragic realistic story in a messedup world and she tragic, and dangerous in real life. A lot good story are just realistic stories coated enough in fiction to make the message easier to get into. That said you dont have to like it as your taste at all, and honestly, thats a very observant analysis.
Why the hell did Netflix in the Uk remove Black Lagoon from their line up? Insane. Definitely an Anime that’s up there and still looks excellent today, 12 years later.
Code geass also goes into this category. Its like every show where canonically character speak english somehow always magically end up sounding better in english.
